COVID-19, A PANDEMIC VIRAL PNEUMONIA IS A GLOBAL DISASTER IN 2020
There was a significant lack of knowledge about pathology, transmission method, epidemiology and management of the novel coronavirus (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 or SARS-CoV-2) pneumonia or coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Comparison of the genome sequences of SARS-CoV-2, SARS-CoV and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) showed that SARS-CoV-2 had some different sequence. Major symptoms showed in COVID-19 were like severe pneumonia disease such as fever, cough and respiratory problems that were similar symptoms to SARSCoV. The aim of this study was to have a preliminary concepts about the taxonomy, morphology and genome of its pathogen. This study was also focused to find the ways of management, treatment, as well as prevention of COVID-19 or Global disaster in 2020. Isolation of cases, home quarantine, hygienic habits and social distancing were recommended to check human to human transmission. Antivirals drugs, anticoagulant therapy, use of serum of recovered persons from this disease and development of vaccine were under investigation

STUDY OF SEASONAL VARIATION OF ARSENIC CONCENTRATION IN GROUNDWATER IN GHAZIPUR DISTRICT OF UTTAR PRADESH

Arsenic concentrations in groundwater of the Kathmandu Valley show a wide range and some of groundwater sources investigated were found to be in elevated levels in some parts of the valley could be due to the nature of the sediments there. The high degree of spatial variability in groundwater quality over short distances indicates that groundwater movement has been limited and is poorly mixed. The higher concentration of arsenic under reduced groundwater environment may be due to Fe/Mn oxides and direct reduction of As(V) into As(III). After an initial increase, arsenic concentration often decreases again as a function of time below water table due to sulfide precipitation, whereas it increases with increasing sulfate concentrations above water table. Under moderately reduced environment (0 to 100 mV), arsenic solubility seemed to be controlled by the dissolution of Fe ox hydroxides. But at highly reduced condition, e.g., at −250 mV, arsenic chemistry is dominated by the formation of insoluble sulfides FeAsS, As, As2S3 attenuating concentration of arsenic in the groundwater

EVALUATION OF THE EFFECT OF PHEOPHORBIDE ON REPRODUCTION AND BIOCHEMICAL CHANGES OF FRESH WATER SNAIL Lymnaea acuminata
Fasciolosis are water/food-borne trematode diseases which contribute severe community health problems world-wide therefore present day various preventive methods are used to diminish the incidence of fasciolosis is to control the population of carrier snail Lymnaea acuminata. Human acquire infection by ingestion of aquatic plants that contain the infected metacercariae. Fasciolosis is one of the most devastating diseases of sheep and cattle. About 250 million sheep and 300 million cattle are potentially affected by the disease worldwide. The flukes enter inside host causes severe changes/damage which sometimes may leads to the death of the animals. The effect of pheophorbide extracted from fresh spinach leaves on the fecundity, hatchability survivality and different biochemical parameters on the snail Lymnaea acuminata were studied. It was observed that pheophorbide significantly caused time dependent reduction in the fecundity, hatchability, survival and all the biochemical parameters of the young snails. Treatment with 60% of 24 h LC50 of pheophorbide caused minimum fecundity (62.60/20 snails) in summer (sunlight). After 72h no hatching was noted in eggs laid by snails exposed to 60% of 24h LC50 of pheophorbide in both winter (sunlight) as well as in summer (sunlight). The reduction of all biochemical parameters in the nervous tissue of L. acuminata results show that the treatment of 60% of 24 h LC50 of extracted pheophorbide in sunlight caused maximum reduction in summer season in protein (44.32% of control), in amino acid (16.44% of control), in DNA (12.28% of control) and in RNA (57.45% of control) at 96 h. Exposure of 60% of 24 h LC50 of pheophorbide for 96 h caused maximum inhibition in AChE (43.53% of control) in summer sunlight
PHYTOCHEMICAL SCREENING AND ANALYTICAL ASSESSMENT OF ACID-BASE INDICATOR PROPERTIES OF RED AND WHITE KOLA NUTS EXTRACTS
In Nigeria, the most commonly used indicator for acid-base titration is synthetic indicator, which is non biodegradable when exposed to the environment. The need to develop acid-base indicators from natural sources to serve as an effective alternative for synthetic indicators is the demand for environment green chemistry. This research work is aimed at the extraction, phytochemical screening, UV/visible spectroscopic analysis of different extracts of red and white kola nuts and application of the extracts as eco-friendly, cost effective and sustainable indicators for acid- base titrations. Extraction was done for 24 hours using acetone, ethanol, cold and hot water separately. The results revealed that all the extracts contained varying amount of phytochemicals, except anthraquinone and phlobatannins which were absents in all the extracts. UV/visible spectroscopic analysis carried out at 600 nm showed that all the extracts have varying absorbance in acidic (HCl) and basic (NaOH) mediums. The potentials of the acid-base indicator of the extracts were evaluated using the titrimetric reactions of strong acid/strong base (HCl/NaOH), strong acid/week base (HCl/NH4OH), week acid/strong base (CH3COOH /NaOH) and week acid/week base (CH3COOH/ NH4OH). The results revealed that the extracts of red kola nut give remarkable colour changes in the titration of strong acid/strong base and strong acid/ weak base. While white kola nut extracts showed remarkable colour changes for all titrations, except in the titration of weak acid with strong base using ethanol and hot water extracts. However, kola nuts extracts which are non toxic, environmentally friendly and biodegradable can serve as effective alternative to synthetic indicator for acid-base titrations
THE PERCEIVED USEFULNESS AND EASY OF USE TOWARD CUSTOMER'S INTENTION TO ADOPT INTERNET BANKING IN THE BANKING SECTOR
This study aimed to examine the effect of perceived usefulness and ease of use toward the customer’s intention to adopt internet banking in the banking sector in Indonesia. The research was conducted quantitatively with causal and descriptive research design. The amounts of sample are 100 customers by using a proportional stratified random sampling method. Data collection techniques used in this research is a survey and observation. Measurement scale used is the Likert scale. The data analysis technique used is the analysis of Partial Least Square (PLS). The results showed that the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness has a direct and significant positive effect on the customer’s intention to using internet banking, but did not have a significant direct effect on adopting internet banking. The customer's intention of using internet banking has a direct and significant positive effect on adopting internet banking. Perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness can have an indirect positive effect on adopting internet banking mediated by customer's intention to using internet banking. The results of the research findings can recommend several policy implications according to the priorities that can be given as input for the company i.e. increasing the productivity of internet banking technology through features that can provide positive benefits for customers and build a user-friendly internet banking system, a network-friendly application system so that its operation is easy to learn and use, flexible and can control the work of internet banking users
A PRIMARY SURVEY FOR THE NOVEL SYNTHESIS OF METHODS TO COMBAT VECTOR-BORNE DISEASES AND RELATED LONG TERM MANAGEMENT
Combating vector-borne diseases demand a multidisciplinary, multi-pronged approach due to various socio-economic factors as well as the disparities among stakeholders between different regions, even within a relatively small area of a village and its fringes. In this work, we did an initial survey to gauge the baseline knowledge about four different macro parameters in a rural area of Purba Bardhamman, West Bengal. The four macro parameters, combined, is to be used in our succeeding work for better management of vector-borne diseases in the future as well as equip the youth with parallel skills that can help them come up to date with the skills the current age demands. The study found that, based on the response, the volunteers on the specific region in that specific time were highly aware of the textbook- basics of mosquito vectors and vector-borne diseases (at equivalent 10th Grade level). They were also moderate to highly aware of personal and close family protection, while only around half reported in-situ measures undertaken by the government. For the case of technological awareness, the users of smart phones were the majority, but more constructive (as opposed to consumptive) tools such as computers were less common. The familiarity with programming tools, a very useful skill in its own right, was also low. However, the desire to learn and improve them was subjectively very high, which was a positive signal. This survey shows promising avenues for inculcating technological tools to combat vector-borne diseases in the future, which is a direction for future work
