    ASSESSING THE PRACTICE AND CHALLENGES OF INSTRUCTIONAL SUPERVISION IN KULFO PRIMARY SCHOOL

    The purpose of this study was to assess the practice and challenges of instructional supervision in kulfo primary school. To this end, a descriptive survey design method was employed. In this study the primary source of information were teachers and school principals. A total of 16 respondents were participated in this study. Data collection tools were questionnaires and open ended interview. Based on the data analysis the following major findings were obtained. The supervisor seem fail to accomplish their responsibility in pre, while and post observational activities,, There is lack of training for supervisors to update their knowledge and skill, there is program for the supervisor to give assistance to the school teachers, the supervisors do not seem to play their roles in teachers’ performance appraisal related functions, both supervisors and teachers tend to believe that the major function of a supervisor is administrative related affairs. Based on these findings it was safely concluded that the practice of instructional supervision in selected school has their own limitation and strong sides Finally, it was recommended that The supervisor should properly carry out his responsibility and work in collaboration with teachers as facilitator rather than examine r and Woreda educational bodies and school principals should make fertile ground for effective implementation of instructional supervision and also they should follow up the work of supervisor and expected to give feedback

    The purpose of the present assessment is intending to study the diversity and distribution of avifauna in the three selected sites of the Mehsana district, Northern Gujarat, India from the year 2015 to 2019. Data collection was done with a visual encounter survey method at random 04 days per season by four man-hours. A total of 113 species of birds distributed in 19 order, 54 families and 100 genera were recorded from the three sites. Among all the sites, a significant number of genera and species recorded from Chimnabai Lake. According to International Union for Conservation of Nature, a total of 104 species of recorded avifauna is Least Concern, 02 species (Sarus Crane and White-naped Tit) were Vulnerable and 07 species were Nearly Threatened. 12 species from Appendix II and one species (Indian Peafowl) from Appendix III as per the Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species database. A total of 90 species from Schedule IV, 08 species from Schedule I and one species (House crow) from Schedule V category under the conservation of Wildlfie Protection Act, 1972. Migratory status shows that a significant number of common resident birds were present in all the sites. This might suggest that these habitats are very important for the preservation of the avifaunal community in the study area

Roughly the area is 130 km by 40 km and includes the districts of Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Coochbehar. Large areas of forest cover is interrupted with plenty of tea gardens which not only add boost in economy but also add socio cultural hotspot because of the fact that good number of tribal peoples inhabited in and around the tea garden who are the workers of the forest and tea garden. But now a day’s tea industry in this area is facing a major break due to less productivity in spite of taking all available precautions. Loppers are the chief culprit in this scenario. Moreover pest surveillance also depends on climatic condition more specifically different environmental abiotic factors. This paper addresses this vital issue. Here attempts are undertaken to understand effect of rainfall and temperature on productivity of tea. In this study Madhu Tea Estate is taken as control site as because since last 10 years it was lockout and proper maintenance such as pruning, irrigation and pesticide spraying is not at all being done. On the other hand Borodighi Tea garden and Chowafulli tea garden are selected as experimental sites where proper maintenance is being done. The Borodighi Tea garden and Chowafulli tea garden are situated in Jalpaiguri District. More specifically two experimental sites are in close proximity.     The last decade has seen phenomenal growth in online sales around the world. This paper studies the impact of the risk associated with using the Internet, attitudes towards a website's security features and the convenience associated with online shopping, and how the three together affect the intention to shop online. Multiple regression was used to conduct the study. Cronbach's alpha and other tools to verify the reliability and validity of the data were applied correctly and the values ​​were satisfactory. Attitude towards website security was found to have the greatest impact on online purchase intent, followed by the convenience of online shopping. It also appears that the risk associated with internet use is negatively linked to the intention to shop online. It is suggested to highlight the security features of online stores and mitigate the risk associated with the use of the Internet.     Panvel region of Raigad district harbors a great range of vegetation, estuary and mountainous hills and thus offers habitation for living organisms including butterflies. Several anthropogenic activities including the ongoing construction of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) has destroyed habitat in and around Panvel region. Loss of habitat results in the decline of biodiversity of both vertebrates and invertebrates. There is not even a preliminary list of Lepidopteran species of this region. Therefore, the present study was conducted to prepare a checklist of butterflies in the region. Butterflies were observed for one year (from June 2019 to May 2020) in different localities of Mahatma Phule College of Arts, Science and Commerce (MPASC) campus and the adjacent areas in Panvel. A total of 42 species of Lepidopteran belonging to 32 genera and 6 families were recorded. Among the 6 families, Nymphalidae dominated the list with 14 genera and 21 species, Pieridae with 7 genera and 9 species, Lycaenidae with 7 genera and 7 species, Papilionidae with 2 genera and 3 species, Hesperiidae and Riodinidae with 1 genus and 1 species each. This study would provide information on the biodiversity of butterflies of the region that can be used as a baseline preliminary data for further butterfly studies

    ANTIFUNGAL POTENTIAL OF PLANTS EXTRACT AGAINST THE FUNGAL PATHOGENS IN CUCUMBER AND BITTER GOURD (CUCURBITACEAE)

    The fungicidal activity of five aqueous plant extracts from Azadiracta indica, Eichhornia crassipes, Calatropis procera, Parthinium hysterophorous and Lanta camara was assessed for their antifungal efficacy on the phytopathogenic fungi of Cucumis sativus (Cucumber) and Monardica charantia (Bitter Gourd), Corynespora cassiicola and Cercospera citrullina, causative agents of these plants. Three of the five plant extracts were effective against these phytopathogenic fungi. Parthinium hysterophorous, Azadiracta indica and Calatropis procera, extracts were highly active and showed fungicidal activities against phytopathogenic fungi with a minimum concentration (100%). In contrast, Lanta camara extract showed moderate antifungal activity, while Eichhornia crassipes was not effective against phytopathogenic fungi. Therefore the present study was aimed to investigate the fungicidal properties of medicinal plants. These effective plant extracts can contribute to the development of potentially effective and environmentally safe alternative fungicides to control the damping of phytopathogenic fungi in cucumber and bitter gourd
