This article highlights the similarities on wellness dimensions and the Mahamangala sutta deshanawa in Buddhism. The study has utilized the data from secondary resources such as text books, research articles, and relevant web sites. Gathered data were analyzed using the content analysis method. The factors included in the Maha Mangala Sutta preached by Lord Buddha 2600 years ago are similar to the contents of wellness components introduced by Prof. Bill Hettler in 1976.The MahaMangala Sutta comprises the manner in which how an individual should act and behave righteously in his child hood, young, middle and old ages. Similarly, Bill Hettler too has discussed in his wellness concept as to how one can lead a righteous and balanced life with the use of wellness dimensions
COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF DIFFERENT SAMPLING METHODS USED FOR MOSQUITO CATCHES IN IKEDURU L.G.A., IMO STATE, NIGERIA
Mosquitoes are obnoxious and notorious blood-sucking insects that devastate human population through malaria attack. This study was carried out in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria in year 2020 with the aim of identifying the most effective method of mosquito sampling. Collection sites were randomly selected based on areas where human activities that aid the breeding of mosquitoes were observed. Mosquitoes were collected using four methods for the adult stage and one method for the larval stage. The methods applied and compared were the pyrethrum knock down/ spray sheet mosquito sampling method, the human bait/ human landing catch technique, the sweep net collection method, the mosquito net-light trap technique and the dipper technique. Sampled mosquitoes were identified using standard methods. The results of the comparative performance evaluations of the different mosquito sampling methods revealed that sweep net and pyrethrum knock down/ spray sheets had the highest occurrence of mosquito species while the dipper mosquito sampling method showed the least performance. This implies that the most effective way for mosquito vector catch from their breeding sites is through the use of sweep net and pyrethrum knock down/ spray sheets. The two effective sampling techniques permit mosquitoes to be picked intact without dismembering them for easy identification
ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY OF THE ELDERLY POPULATION IN SRI LANKA
Elderly population can be identified as one of the growing disposition nowadays. The process of the aging of the population can be considered as an important sector on population studies. Basically population aging is the growth of the population who are more than 60 years old than the population under the age of 15. According to United Nation estimation on population by 2025-2035 the growth rate of the 60t population would be 2.8% while the growth rate of general population would be 0.83%. Sri Lanka is well known as a South Asian country with increasing elderly population .It is consequential to take appropriate action for the increasing population of elders. The aging of Sri Lankan population is a consequence of a positive disposition of the decreasing of fertility and life expectancy .Therefore it is better to calculate the matter of aging population in a positive light .The provisional necessity is to create opportunities for the elders to involve in economic development without being a burden to the economy. The purpose of the paper is to study on the feasibility of the elderly population on economics. The study used primary date by choosing a sample of 100 participants from Western Hitthetiya of Matara Secretariat Division of Matara District. Thus, participants’ mental and physical feasibility and their ability and accord on working after retirement were studied. As secondary data, books, magazines and the records of Matara Secretariat Division on 2019 Resource Profile were used. Then the collected primary and secondary data were analyzed using MS Excel & SPSS software and the conclusion was that the 70% of the participants around age 60-70 have sufficient mental and physical feasibility to engage in work or a job and they are willing as well. Though they aimed to earn a payment via a job, their main purpose of working was gaining self-satisfaction and spending a quality time. Moreover they preferred if the retirement age get extended to 63 and it was evident that they liked the self-satisfaction of spending a quality time. It would be advantages to the economy at the elderly population engage in further working
POTENTIAL IMPACT OF TIME ON DNA DAMAGE, MICRONUCLEUS WITH LIVER CONTENTS AND FUNCTION AFTER PARTIAL HEPATECTOMY IN RATS
Liver regeneration after partial hepatectomy (PH) is one of the most captivating phenomena in medicine. The aim of this work was to study the effect of time (days) on DNA damage, micronucleus, liver contents (weight, water and lipid %) and function after PH in male rats was evaluated. Liver weight, water and lipid contents as well transaminases enzymes, bilirubin (BR) and protein were determined. In addition, DNA fragmentation, micronucleus (Mn) induction and hemoglobin were also assessed. Liver weight was decreased significantly and restored to normal by day 3. However, lipid content was increased significantly but restored to normal by day 7. Water content was similarly increased in regenerating liver and restored the normal by day 28. Transaminases, Brill and protein levels were decreased and restored to normal by day 14. In addition, hemoglobin was decreased and restored to normal by day 28. DNA fragmentation and micronucleus frequency were increased significantly compared to control (day 0) and restored to normal on day 7 and 28 for DNA and Mn, respectively. In conclusion, liver regeneration in male rats after 70% partial hepatectomy (PH), response at 3rd, 7th, and 14th days. Our results might be of clinical relevance for human medicine
IMPULSE BUYING BEHAVIOR AND ACCEPTANCE OF MIXED BRANDING OF MEDIA PLATFORM USING TECHNOLOGY ACCEPTANCE MODEL (TAM)
Given the rapidly growing popularity of corporate organizations for impulsive buying of online media using digital and social media platforms, it has increased the importance of diverse research on low-profile that predates or logically predates other marketing directional communications for all consumer behavior. Data analysis was performed using mixed methods which consisted of confirmatory mixed factor analysis and social structural equation modeling. SURVEY AND POPULATION DENSITY OF RODENTS IN SUGAR CANE FIELD IN SOHAG GOVERNORATE, EGYPT
Sugar cane crop is one of the main crops in Egypt, so the study was conducted to survey and distribute rodents in sugar cane plantations in the village of Shandweel island in Sohag Governorate, Egypt, during two consecutive years 2018-2019.
The results showed that there are three types of rodents spread in sugar cane crops in the area of study, which are: the Nile mouse, Arvicanthis niloticus, the house mouse Mus musculus, and the white-bellied mouse, Rattus rattus frugivorous.
The results also showed the Nile grass rat. A. niloticus represented by (60.29%) in the first year and (55.24%) in the second year. the percentage of occurrence of the house mouse, Mus musculus was (36.76%) in the first year and (41.25%) in the second year. The white bellied rat, R. r. fugivorus represented by (2.94%) in the first year and (3.49%) in the second year. The autumn season was the most suitable for rodent species followed by spring, summer and winter. Determining the rodent species and their population density during the seasons of the year in sugar cane plantations. It is useful in determining the most appropriate method and date for control them
MODEL FEMINISM THEORY; THE SOCIAL CYBERNETICS TRADITION ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SOCIAL COMMUNICATION POLICIES
With the emergence of social cybernetics as the effectiveness of social policies in information management that can provide public services in the field of information. Feminism theory links social reality with patterns of social cognition, a theory of human communication in interpersonal communication that is formed by relationships with social reality. The relationship associated with the problem of human dialectical behavior by obtaining existing information in a narrow and broad sense as if without distance and time, changes social cybernetics as social management which they acquire in a new information system that can make it easier for them to obtain information around the world and even the social environment of society practically. The idea of conceptualizing digital information has become an important communicator and message in communication research but it remains less theorizing about "conversational relationships. This article is a theoretical critique that hypothesizes the field of cybernetics about how the field of information transmission in certain systems of personal communication, mass media communication, is socially responsible for society with digital information systems and social science philosophies that influence one another. The information system model that appears in social cybernetics in the field of social science is suitable for studying the study of relevant sources as the delivery of information messages that support, strengthen, neutralize the pattern of human social life as the realm of human information systems, and support patterns of human interaction with social creatures that require the system. Human information has a pattern of individual knowledge and experience to elevate the cultural traditions of humans themselves
APPRAISAL OF CYCLIC DISSIMILARITY AND SEASONAL CHANGES OF THE PHYTOPLANKTON IN TUNGABHADRA RIVER NEAR HARIHAR – KARNATAKA
The present paper deals with the study of the cyclic dissimilarity and seasonal changes in phytoplankton population in Tungabhadra River from Harihar, Karnataka. The river located in the district Davangere is located in the central part of Karnataka state (India) between latitude 14°17ʹ to 14°35ʹ N and longitude 75°50ʹ - 76°05ʹ E covering an area of 6500 sq. km at an average altitude of 540 m above Mean Sea Level (MSL). From the selected 3 stations of Tungabhadra river water, samples were collected at monthly intervals. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of phytoplankton were carried out during the year 2018 – 2019. Seventy-one (71) species of phytoplankton were found comprising Chlorophyceae 35.47%, Bacillariophyceae 18.11%, Cyanophyceae 37.48% and Euglenophyceae 8.93%. Phytoplankton communities had the highest and lowest Shannon-Weaver diversity indices in the winter and summer, respectively. The highest Evenness index occurred in both the winter and rainy seasons, whereas the minimum was in winter. Sequential seasonal phytoplankton succession in Tungabhadra river was divisions Cyanophyceae a followed by Chlorophyceae. The diversity and distribution patterns of certain species were related to water quality as evident from the present study
