STUDY OF DISTRIBUTION OF PHYTOPLANKTON UNDER DIFFERENT HYDROCHEMICAL FACTORS IN NORTHERN PART OF LATTAKIA COASTAL WATERS (SYRIA)
Seasonal changes in chlorophyll a phytoplankton abundance and physico-chemical factors affecting these parameters were investigated in this study. Quantitative and qualitative phytoplankton and nutrient analysis were carried out in 2018 at two sampling stations in northern part of lattakia coastal waters in the northeastern Mediterranean coast of syria. Sampling was performed monthly from january to dezember of 2018 Nutrient concentrations were high in winter but low in summer. The concentration of, PO4-P, NO3+ N and [Si (OH)4]-Si in surface water varied in the range of 0 -1.1 μM, 0.2-9.1 μM and 0.06-13.5 μM, respectively. Surface water phytoplankton abundance reached the highest level (23.1×106 cells l-1) in March mainly due to the increase of a diatoms. It reached the lowest level in December (0.001×106 cells l-1). Chlorophyll a concentration ranged from 0.01 to 7.4 mg l-1 in surface water. Nutrient concentrations and phytoplankton biomass of the research area were found higher than those of the previous studies of other coastal areas in Syria
TOXICITY ACTIVITIES OF Jatropha curcas SEED EXTRACT AGAINST THE 4TH INSTAR LARVAE AND PUPAL STAGES OF Aedes aegypti
Mosquitoes are vectors of several diseases of public health importance. Their control with synthetic insecticides has faced challenges of resistance by target insects and consequent environmental pollution. There is therefore need to find alternative ecofriendly plant derived insecticide. Therefore toxicity activities of Jatropha curcas seed extract against the 4th instar larvae and pupal stages of Aedes aegypti was studied in vitro with increasing doses of Jatropha curcas seed extract for 96 hours. The result showed significant difference between mortality among treated animal and control (P< 0.05). Mortality of both larvae and pupae of Aedes aegypti treated with Jatropha curcas seed extract was dose and time dependent. At the highest (9%) concentration (wt/vol), mean larval mortality was 100%, while at the lowest (1%) concentration, the mortality decreased to 50%. Mean pupal mortality increased to 100% at highest concentration of 9% (g/100ml) but decreased to 40% at lowest concentration. The duration of incubation also influenced mortality. At 72 and 96 hours of incubation all treated larva died in highest concentrations of the extract (9% and 7%) while the entire treated pupa died out in 96 hours of incubation at the highest concentration (9%) of the extract. Survived larva and pupa after 96 hours in lower concentration could not develop to adult stage. In conclusion Jatropha curcas seed water extract has toxicity effects on larvae and pupae of Aedes aegypti and can be deployed for the control of the insect
WATER QUALITY ANALYSIS OF ANASAGAR LAKE, AJMER, RAJASTHAN
Water quality of Anasagar lake was studied for period of four months on the basis of fortnightly sampling. This study has provided the first data set for water quality of lake. The value of various physico-chemical parameter were temperature (24.50°C to 33.90°C), pH (7.9 to 8.2), electrical conductivity (2.07 to 2.49 mS/cm), dissolved oxygen (7.53 to 8.73 mgL-1), alkalinity (101 to 109 mgL-1), Hardness (121 to 150 mgL-1), total dissolved solid (1344.00 to 1617.00 mgL-1), nitrate (0.88 mg L-1 to 1.02 mgL-1), phosphate (0.67 mgL-1 to 0.76 mgL-1), depth of visibility during the study period was 48.92 cm. Anthropogenic stressors such as disposal of raw sewage and municipal wastewater, input of detergents due to washing of clothes and bathing, inputs of pesticides and chemical fertilizers due to unsustainable agriculture, aquaculture and horticulture, and urban settlement have forced the lake into the severely polluted and hyper-eutrophic condition
DEPLOYMENT OF AN EFFICIENT ALGORITHM FOR SEARCHING MOTOR VEHICLE DATABASE
Transportation is a requirement for every nation regardless of its level of development. Moving goods and people from one place to another is crucial to maintaining strong economic and political ties between the various components of any given nation and among nations. How that movement takes place can be determined by several variables but the most reliable and widely embraced means of transportation is road. Road transportation is the most widely used means of transportation due to its cheapness and capability to penetrate remotest parts of any town and village. Therefore, various measures and devices had been and are being developed to enhance its continuity, sustainability and safety. Most of these measures rely on database. Database is a structured set of data held in a computer, especially one that is accessible in various ways. In order to enhance a smooth running of database developed for the purpose of road transportation generally and searching of vehicles in particular, there is the need to deploy an efficient searching algorithm.
In this research, a database developed for vehicles was used as a focus point. Different search algorithms were deployed to test the database, their complexities were derived and it was discovered that these were not fast enough, effective and efficient when implemented on road transport database. Consequently, the need to develop the most efficient algorithm that could guarantee fast and quick response to queries and present results with minimum delay was necessitated
EFFECTS OF BIOCHAR & VERMICHAR AS A SOIL SUPPLEMENT TO IMPROVE MAIZE PLANT GROWTH
The rapid increase in the volume of waste is one aspect of the environmental problem, that hinders global development. This study explores the possibility of utilizing waste biomass to prepare biochar and vermichar which can be used as soil supplements in plant growth. Biochar is charcoal that is produced by pyrolysis of biomass, in the absence of oxygen and is used as a soil ameliorant for both carbon sequestration and for soil fertility. Here in this work, we explore the production of vermichar which is the synergy between Vermiculture (worm farming) and Biochar (porous charcoal soil improver). The physiological, morphological and, biological parameters of these soil supplements were analyzed. Earthworms used for the production of vermiculture are Eugenia eudrilus and Eisenia foetida. The plant used for the study is maize. According to our analysis, vermichar is a very good supplement for the soil which increases the N, P, K, C, and organic content of the soil, which is followed by biochar in order to grow a healthy plant. Using this soil supplement the fertility of the soil is protected and the yield is high. From the above work, it is clear that biochar, as well as vermichar, has a great role in plant growth and in increasing soil fertility
INTRODUCTION OF TETRAPLOIDY IN Rana tigrina (INDIAN BULL FROG) BY THERMAL, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE AND CHEMICAL SHOCKS
Introduction of tertraploidy in R. tigrina was attempted, using thermal, hydrostatic pressure and chemical shocks. Heat and pressure shocks induced 100% tetraploidy. Chromosome count and RBC micro measurement were found to be reliable method for determination of ploidy. It can be achieved by using Anaesthetic- ether for giving Anaesthesia to frog. While Colchicine (0.02%) as a mitotic-inhibitor [1] and hypotonic -solution, (1952 Hugs, Makino, and Nishimpura), Methanol: Glacial acid (3:1)as freshly prepared cold-fixative, Giemsa stock-solution for staining chromosome,(Hsu and Hsu Pomerat [2] as well as Phosphate Buffer Salt (PBS) is used. Trypsin- solution is used for G-banding (Plate-5a). All the above solution were prepared using different types of chemical substances like, Sodium citrate, distilled water, Giemsa stock-solution by Giemsa powder, glycerol, sodium chloride, potassium – chloride, glucose, sodium bicarbonate etc [3]. (Tijio and Puck 1958). Karyotype is obtained in the animals like fishes, amphibians, mammals like rats can also be studied.
Then chromosomes are arranged on the basis of long arm and short arm (L/S) and classified as metaphase chromosome, as meta-centric, sub-metacentric, and acrocentric respectively. It can be obtained by centrifugation, air-dry method was followed for slide preparation. After drying slides were stained with 2% Giemsa for 15 minutes, and washed thoroughly in distilled water for clear-differentiation, under the microscope.
Then after observing these plates, were selected and analyzed. Finally, good clear – differentiated slide were selected. Tetraploid slide was taken in which we got 52 chromosomes in plate number 5a-for G-banding and 5b for tetraploidy which is obtained by above mentioned method. Then Idiogram drawn on X- axis chromosome number and on Y-axis relative length. So in this work , which was carried out we got results similar to Stephenson (1977)
THERAPEUTIC EFFICACY OF KABASURA KUDINEER (SIDDHA FORMULATION), IN COVID-19 – A REVIEW OF CLINICAL AND MOLECULAR DOCKING STUDIES
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which is brought about by novel coronavirus or Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) could be managed mainly by using repurposed antiviral drugs. This review focuses on the utilization of Kabasura Kudineer in asymptomatic or mild symptomatic COVID-19 patients. The databases such as Medline/PubMed Central/PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct, EBSCO, Scopus, Web of science, EMBASE, Directory of open access journals (DOAJ), and reference lists have been looked to distinguish articles pertinent to the clinical and in-silico studies assessing the efficacy of Kabasura Kudineer in the management of COVID-19. A few clinical investigations have exhibited the adequacy of Kabasura Kudineer in the management of asymptomatic or mild-symptomatic COVID-19 patients alongside standard care. Additionally, numerous molecular docking studies have been performed to determine the inhibitory capability of phytoconstituents of Kabasura Kudineer against SARS-CoV-2. More randomized controlled clinical trials would further establish the safety and efficacy of Kabasura Kudineer in COVID-19 patients
ABETTOR: ANDROID APPLICATION FOR HEALTH AND FINANCE RECORDS MANAGEMENT

The existing method to track medical data is to maintain a physical file of medical reports and prescriptions, and carry them physically to clinics whenever required. In the case of Financial Records, such as household expenses, pen and paper are used to save daily spending, files are made to save important receipts and invoices, and for doing bank transfers and online payments, people need to carry their Credit/Debit Cards and Bank Details. “Abettor” is an Android application that provides a platform to manage health and finance-related data, the app has two separate modules to keep track of user’s health and finance-related records, using an Interactive User Interface. IMPACTS OF TEXTILE DYE EFFLUENTS ON THE MICROBIAL AND PHYSICOCHEMICAL QUALITIES OF SURROUNDING SOIL IN OSHOGBO METROPOLIS, NIGERIA
This study was carried out to investigate the microbiological and physicochemical properties of textile dye effluent contaminated soil collected from selected production discharge units within Oshogbo metropolis using standard techniques. The mean pH of the textile effluents was 8.4. The levels of the other parameters investigated were 96.50±0.02 mg/l, 10.08±0.05 mg/l, 3.65±0.21 mg/l, and 6.35±0.21 mg/l, for total dissolved solids (TDS), total suspended solids (TSS), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) respectively. The level of Chloride (204.20±0.14 mg/l) was significantly high when compared with Sulphate that had 7.21±0.08 mg/l. The order of concentration of heavy metals in the effluents is Fe>Zn>Mn>Ni>Pb>Cd. The total bacterial counts (TBC) were generally higher than that of fungal counterparts (TFC) in the soil samples of study locations. The range for TBC was from 1.45 x 106 to 7.20 x 106 cfu/ml, while that for TFC was from 1.34 x 104 to 5.31 x 104cfu/ml. Theidentified bacterial isolates were Klebsiella aerogenes, Esherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas spp., Proteus spp., Streptococcus sp. and Micrococcus sp. and identified fungal isolates were Mucor, Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Neurospora spp., from the sampling locations. Findings from this study showed that all the chemicals analysed were withinthe standards set by WHO and FEPA, except for Zn and Ni, which were respectively higher one and three of the dye effluent sampling locations. The bacterial and fungal isolates could be consideredas biological pre- and post-treatment agents for cost-effective and eco-friendly remediation of textile effluents to minimize water and soil pollution, thereby, ensuringsustainable environmental and economic development
In Silico EVALUATION OF CHEMICAL TOXICITY OF CERTAIN NON-STEROIDAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORY DRUGS
In our study, we collected five commonly used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, including Ketorolac, Aspirin, Naproxen, and Diclofenac. In our DFT results, Diclofenac has the lowest energy gap (-0.5827 eV), highest ionization potential (5.0983 eV), highest electron affinity (5.6810 eV), highest electronegativity (5.3897 eV), lowest chemical potential (-5.3897), lowest dipole moment (1.1282) and lowest energy (-1657.106). The Pro Tox II web server was used to determine the toxicity of drugs based on their chemical structure. Diclofenac has the lowest LD50 (53 mg/kg) value in comparison to Ketorolac (LD50=189 mg/kg), Naproxen (LD50=248 mg/kg), Aspirin (LD50=250 mg/kg), and Ibuprofen (LD50=189 mg/kg). All these non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs target hepatotoxicity, as well as nuclear receptor signalling pathways, including aminooxidase A and prostaglandin G/H synthase 1. Diclofenac was found to be more toxic than other NSAIDs in toxicity studies, and its results matched those found in DFT studies
