Item response theory has become a unique methodological framework for reviewing response data from assessments in education and other fields of study. This study attempted to assess the Item parameter estimates of Nigeria’s unified tertiary matriculation mathematics assessment instrument using item response theory 3 – Parameter logistic model and determined the conformity level of the items of the instrument to the revised Bloom’s taxonomy of educational objectives. The descriptive validation design was applied in the study. The population of the study comprised the 3, 320  SS 3 students registered for 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) who opted for mathematics in the public secondary schools in Abia State out of which 40 students were selected. Simple random sampling and purposive sampling techniques were adopted in selection of the samples using multistage procedure. Mathematics Assessment instrument used in the 2017, 2018 and 2019 UTM examinations were the instruments for data collection.  This was made up of 120 (40 items for each year) multiple choice items, each having a single stem with four options including one correct answer and three distractors. b, a and c-parameters of the individual items of the instruments were established. The findings of the study revealed that a very high percentage (95% in 2017, 95% in 2018 and 85% in 2019) of the items were of moderate difficulty and discriminated adequately among high and low performing students. More so, the pseudo guessing parameter estimate indicated that there were low level of guessing since a high percentage ((90% in 2017, 92.5% in 2018 and 90% in 2019)%) of the items survived.  The researcher recommended among others that examination bodies in Nigeria should concretize the quality of their test items by conducting item analysis using IRT model

Block-chain- is a database that stores information in blocks or small segments. The current example of this method is about the newly digitalized form of currency called crypto-currency e.g., Bitcoin. In Bitcoin Blockchain plays a significant role by making transections in an extremely secure way. Blockchain eliminated the need for 3rd party and secure the data and other related information of the transaction. Blockchain makes the world less vulnerable to fraud by tokenizing the world. NFTs are the tokens of Blockchain which cannot b replicated. Tokens of Blockchain provide the service in the domain of real estate and artwork thus the art of selling, buying, and trading is accessible to all world. This paper aims to demonstrate how NFTs are stored on the Ethereum blockchain and how we can access/view it for any given Ethereum address. For my research on NFTs, we will use OpenSea a gas-free marketplace for NFTs on Polygon. On OpenSea we can create, buy, sell, and auction NFTs on the Polygon blockchain without paying any gas fees. The software I created will render the NFTs from extracting the media from OpenSea servers which are hosted on Google server farms, which ultimately will extract the NFTs for any given Ethereum blockchain wallet Address

Bulk hetero-junction solar cell is replicated frightfully at different unique layer thickness and unmistakable opening adaptability by General Photovoltaic Device Model. GPVDM software was initially composed to reproduce natural sunlight based cells and OLEDs, yet later on it has been reached out to mimic different device, including silicon/CIGS-based devices. Natural mass hetero-junction sun arranged cell involves blend of P3HT & PCBM as powerful material, Indium Tin oxide (ITO) is a clear anode, Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate is an electron deterring layer and Aluminum a cathode. The optical reenactment has performed at various powerful layer thicknesses from 100 to 250nm, and electrical amusement at various holes transportability from 1×10-4cm2/Vs to 1×10-7cm2/Vs independently. The current-voltage (j-v) characteristics are affected by the initial versatility. The best current-voltage (j-v) characteristics are found at 1×10-6cm2/Vs flexibility and the best ingestion at 200 nm. It is assumed that in the normal BHJ sun based cell the adequacy increases, when compactness decreases, the usefulness further decays. If the adaptability is extended from 1×10-5cm2/Vs the partition probability is extended and will be generally outrageous

    Get PDF
In the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution, there is what we call a more advance “digital revolution” compared to the 3rd Industrial Revolution. This phenomenon, just like the previous technologies but being more advance, brought lots of big changes in the way people live. Many human works will become irrelevant because of the developing artificial intelligence being created by humans in this digital revolution. The value of being a human is now more seriously endangered than ever. Machines may totally dominate humanity in the near future. In this context, “what is the relevance of Theology?” This paper argues that Christian Theology is always relevant owing to its nature. The problem is how to uncover the relevance of Christian Theology to the present challenges. This paper uncovers its relevance to the present challenges of the 4th Industrial Revolution which are primarily the “fusion of the physical, biological, and digital worlds” and the “emergence of the developing Artificial Intelligence.” The method that this paper used is “existential phenomenology.” The main relevance of Theology in the 4th Industrial Revolution that this paper emphasized are maintaining one’s Christian freedom and Christian humanity

DEVELOPING NATURE-BASED TOURISM IN IMO STATE, NIGERIA THROUGH STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT FOR BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION

    Get PDF
Rural communities in Imo state, Nigeria have for centuries preserved monkey habitats via traditional conservation practices (TCP). Research has barely addressed recuring human wildlife conflicts (HWC) and challenges faced by communities who derive no economic or social benefits from their monkeys. This study was aimed at investigating how nature-based tourism (NBT) development implemented though stakeholder engagement could aid biodiversity conservation. Adopting a qualitative method, in-depth interviews (n=25) were conducted with key informants in Lagwa and Ejemekwuru and stakeholders outside the communities. Data was triangulated by observing human-monkey interactions in the locales and monkeys in habitats. Findings reveal that HWC persist due to reducing forest cover and residences/habitats proximity. Locals are uneasy but have no motivation to protect monkeys and habitats, so the TCP is waning. Identified stakeholders are enthusiastic, possess capacity to adopt and would support NBT development. Optimism was high that NBT would stem HWC, empower communities, provide income and help conservation. Processes for stakeholders to achieve conservation through NBT development are recommended. Clear and shared goals, consistent with community aspirations can be achieved by pursuit of conservation education in communities, improvement, reforestation and delineation of habitats. Concessions is recommended to multidisciplinary consortiums with proven technical and financial capabilities. This study could enhance policy and knowledge, while the recommendations would assist service providers, and initiate positive change in the investigated subject fields
