Influence of English Language Proficiency on Academic and Social Experiences of University Student-Athletes in Pakistan
Social integration of university student-athletes in Pakistan. University life in Pakistan presents unique challenges for student-athletes, especially those with limited command of English, which can affect their academic performance, classroom participation, and ability to build effective relationships with peers and instructors. To explore these dynamics, a mixed-methods approach was employed involving 200 student-athletes from two universities in Faisalabad. Quantitative data were gathered through structured surveys measuring students’ English language competency, academic outcomes, and social engagement, while qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews. Thematic analysis was used to examine qualitative responses, and appropriate statistical methods were applied to analyze quantitative findings. Results indicated that student-athletes with higher English proficiency performed better academically, participated more confidently in class, and integrated more easily into social circles. In contrast, those with limited proficiency often experienced academic stress, social isolation, and difficulty in meeting academic standards. These findings highlight the compounded burden faced by student-athletes in managing both academic and athletic responsibilities. Limited English proficiency was shown to intensify this burden, potentially impacting their overall university experience and future career opportunities. The study underscores the need for universities to implement targeted language support programs that can help student-athletes overcome linguistic challenges, thereby promoting a more inclusive and equitable academic environment. The research concludes that strengthening English language skills is essential for the academic and social success of student-athletes in higher education institutions in Pakistan
فن التکرار کمصدر الالھام فی قصائد محمد بلقاسم: Repetition Art as a Source of Inspiration in Poems of Muhammad Belqasem
This research deals with a topic “Repetition Art as a Source of Inspiration in Poems of Muhammad Belqasem”. Many poets writs about their own lives emotions and expressions using their feeling of a spring board for exeativity. The beauty and complexity of the natural world often serve as powerful inspiration, leading poets to explore themes of life, death, and the passage of time. Although repetition has long existed in classical Arabic poetry, it has emerged as a modern stylistic device of expression because it is considered a phenomenon of recent prominent poetic text structure so that there is in every book of poems. It can have respectful aesthetic and psychological meanings reinforce the semantic and rhythmic movement in the poetic text. Investigating the Impact of Stylistic Amplification in Urdu Translation of Bapsi Sidhwa’s English Novel
This paper examines the aspect of stylistic amplification in the Urdu translation of The Crow Eaters by Bapsi Sidhwa, translated by Umer Memon as Jungle Wala Sahib. The article draws upon the amplification strategy by Luisa Molina and Amparo Hurtado Albir (2002), as well as Mona Baker’s theory of narrative in the study of how stylistic options influence the faithfulness of translation in literary work. Applying a comparative textual analysis of selected passages, the paper refers to several instances in which neutral or emotionally charged narrative devices in the original text are transformed into explicitly emotionally charged or ideology-laden expressions in the Urdu version. The results indicate that although amplification can be successfully used to improve readability and cultural relevance to the Urdu audience, it is likely to overemphasize the personalities of characters and the tone of the story, thereby altering the stylistic nature of the original work. The research will contribute to the broader discussion of the ethical questions surrounding translation and literary style, specifically how much or how little of the story a translator should alter to adapt it across languages and cultures
Challenges and Solutions for Pakistani Muslim Scholars in Britain’s Pluralistic Society
This study examines the challenges faced by Pakistani Muslim scholars in Britain’s pluralist and secular environment, focusing particularly on those associated with Sufi traditions. As the Muslim population in the UK grows and becomes increasingly diverse, religious scholars play a vital role in guiding community life, interpreting Islamic teachings, and bridging the gap between faith-based perspectives and broader societal expectations. Despite this central role, these scholars often confront complex social, cultural, legal, and institutional pressures that shape their work and identity. Guided by four research questions, the study explores how these scholars perceive their responsibilities within a diverse society, the obstacles they encounter, and the strategies they adopt to remain true to their religious principles while engaging constructively with wider British society. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research begins with an extensive review of academic and community literature, followed by semi-structured interviews with Pakistani Sufi oriented scholars based across England. Thematic analysis reveals recurring challenges such as negotiating religious identity in a secular setting, responding to Islamophobia, managing generational differences within British Muslim communities, and balancing traditional expectations with modern institutional demands. The findings indicate that meaningful engagement requires context-sensitive religious training, stronger institutional support, active interfaith involvement, and leadership development tailored to the British context. The study contributes to wider debates on pluralism, integration, and the evolving role of Muslim scholarship in the UK, offering practical recommendations for policymakers, community leaders, and Islamic institutions
An Analytical and Research Study of the Morphological and Syntactical Discussions in Fath al-Bari by Ibn Rajab al-Hanbal
The Holy Qur\u27an and the Blessed Ahadith are in pure Arabic, which is the foundation of the unbreakable, global, and everlasting bond among Muslims. To truly understand Islamic teachings, one must gain deep insight and mastery over the primary sources of Islam—the Qur\u27an and Hadith—through expertise in the Arabic language and literature. When Islam remained in the Arabian Peninsula, it was naturally connected to the native speakers of Arabic, and this connection was passed down from one generation to the next. As a result, there was no difficulty in comprehending the Qur\u27an and Hadith. However, as Islam expanded beyond Arabia through conquests, and non-Arabs embraced Islam, several challenges arose, one of the most significant being the correct understanding of the Qur\u27an and Sunnah. To address this issue, a variety of scholarly pursuits were initiated, including the development of various sciences and disciplines. Among these, the sciences of Arabic morphology (Sarf) and syntax (Nahw) became crucial. The correct and complete understanding of the Qur\u27an and Hadith fundamentally relies on these sciences. In this context, the Hadith scholars have emphasized the importance of these linguistic tools while explaining and interpreting the Ahadith. The present paper examines these discussions, particularly focusing on the work Fath al-Bari by Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali, highlighting the role of Arabic grammar and morphology in the proper understanding of Hadith and Qur\u27anic texts
Kitab Ul-Um: A Study of Introduction and Methodology
Abstract:
Every aspect of human life is governed by a set of principles and laws, and for Muslims, these guiding principles are meticulously compiled in the books of jurisprudence, known as "Fiqh." Among the many significant texts in Islamic jurisprudence, Kitab al-Umm stands out as one of the most pivotal works, particularly for the Shafi\u27i school of thought. Compiled by Imam Shafi\u27i (may Allah have mercy on him) towards the end of the second century of Islam, Kitab al-Umm serves as the foundational text for Shafi\u27i Fiqh, laying down the core principles and legal rulings that guide the lives of its followers. The book provides a comprehensive and systematic approach to Islamic jurisprudence, incorporating various sources such as the Quran, Hadith, Ijma\u27 (consensus), and Qiyas (analogy).
In the centuries following its compilation, Kitab al-Umm was subjected to rigorous scholarly work, including detailed commentaries, analyses, and refinements by Islamic scholars. These efforts were primarily conducted in Arabic, and they significantly enriched the text\u27s understanding and application within the Shafi\u27i school. Despite its importance, the complexity of the text, coupled with its linguistic and historical context, may pose challenges for many readers, especially those who are not fluent in Arabic or familiar with Islamic jurisprudential terminologies.
This work aims to introduce Kitab Ul-Um in the Urdu language, offering an accessible explanation of its methodology, style, and key principles. The purpose is to make this monumental work accessible to a broader audience, particularly those who have not yet benefitted from it. By studying this text, readers can derive valuable guidance in applying Islamic principles to their lives, grounded in the rich jurisprudential tradition of Imam Shafi\u27i.
AI Narrative Criticism: Reimagining Meaning, Power, and Storytelling in the Algorithmic Age
This article introduces AI Narrative Criticism as a critical methodology for interpreting stories about, by, and through artificial intelligence in the algorithmic age. It argues that AI systems no longer serve merely as tools of communication but operate as narrative apparatuses that generate, curate, and structure meaning across cultural, literary, and digital domains. Building on poststructuralist narratology, posthuman theory, and critical media studies, the paper outlines three analytic registers: (1) narratives about AI in cultural and policy discourse that project fantasies and anxieties; (2) narratives by AI, such as large language model outputs that demand reconceptualisations of authorship and textuality, and (3) narratives through AI, shaped by algorithmic recommendation systems that structure attention, perception, and affect. Through case studies ranging from speculative fiction and machine-generated writing to platform-curated feeds, the article demonstrates how machinic narrativity unsettles traditional assumptions of intention, coherence, and human-centered authorship. To engage these transformations, the paper proposes a framework for reading AI-mediated storytelling through four methodological coordinates; contextual mapping, discursive reading, aesthetic analysis, and ethical reflexivity. The study concludes that in the age of narrative automation, literary criticism must reinvent itself to confront the aesthetic, epistemic, and political implications of machine-mediated storytelling
امن کے لئے رسول اللہﷺ کےاِقدامات: جامع الترمذی کی كِتَابُ السِّيَرِکی روشنی میں ایک خصوصی مطالعہ
This research delves into the depiction of the expeditions and battles (Ghazwat) of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his companions as discussed in the Hadith literature, specifically in the "Kitab-ul-Siar," a chapter dedicated to the details of military campaigns in various Hadith collections. One of the key sources for this study is Imam Tirmizi’s renowned work, Sunan Al-Tirmizi, where he elaborates on the strategies, laws, and provisions related to battles conducted by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The research aims to shed light on the peaceful measures and ethical guidelines followed by the Prophet during the course of these battles, offering a nuanced understanding of Jihad and war in Islam.
The study is organized into two primary sections: the first explores the concept of Jihad and its strategic application within Islamic teachings, emphasizing the balance between warfare and peace. The second section focuses on the peace measures adopted by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the midst of conflict, demonstrating the humane and ethical principles that governed his military conduct. The research underscores that even in the context of warfare, the Prophet (SAW) emphasized restraint, compassion, and the protection of non-combatants, providing a model for ethical warfare in Islamic jurisprudence. The findings of the research reveal a profound understanding of the peaceful conduct during warfare in Islam, supported by the Hadiths from Kitab-ul-Siar. The study concludes with a summary of key points, results, and references that highlight the peaceful nature of Jihad in the Islamic tradition

The Seerah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) represents a comprehensive guide for humanity, encompassing moral, social, spiritual, and political dimensions of life. In the current era, marked by rapid globalization, moral decline, identity crises, and increasing socio-political unrest, the relevance of the Prophet’s life and teachings has become more vital than ever. The Seerah serves not merely as a historical account but as a timeless model of ethical behavior, justice, compassion, and resilience. It offers practical solutions to modern-day challenges, such as social inequality, religious intolerance, and the erosion of family values.
In a world often dominated by materialism and individualism, the Seerah encourages a return to community-centered living, empathy, and accountability. It addresses human needs holistically, offering guidance on interpersonal relations, governance, conflict resolution, and spiritual development. For Muslims, studying the Prophet’s life helps strengthen their faith, reshape character, and reaffirm a sense of purpose. Embracing the Seerah today is both a spiritual necessity and a practical need for creating a just and compassionate worl
مستشرقیت کی پرتیں: اسلام کی تفہیم پر اس کے اثرات کا تنقیدی جائزہ: Unveiling the Layers of Orientalism: A Critical Study of Its Impact on the Understanding of Islam
For centuries, Orientalists have deeply engaged in the study of Islam and its teachings, producing a vast body of literature. Their efforts span across regions and cultures, and their presence is not confined to any one nation. While the overarching aim of many Orientalists appears to be the dissemination of doubts and misconceptions about Islam and Muslims, it is crucial to recognize the diversity within this group. Orientalists are not a monolithic entity; they range from those sincerely dedicated to knowledge and truth to those driven by bias and opposition. Some have genuinely contributed to the intellectual understanding of Islamic civilization, while others have merely worked to cast shadows of skepticism. This dichotomy raises an essential question: is the Orientalist movement a beacon of academic enlightenment or a calculated effort to mislead humanity about the essence of Islam? The answer lies within a detailed examination of the types of Orientalists—those committed to pure scholarly inquiry, those influenced by fanaticism, the deliberate opponents of Islam, and those who, though initially aligned with Orientalism, ultimately embraced the truth they discovered through their research. This study aims to introduce the various classes of Orientalists and explore the true nature of their research endeavors. It presents a nuanced perspective, neither wholly condemning nor uncritically praising the Orientalist movement, but striving to understand its complex motivations and multifaceted impact on the global perception of Islam and Muslims. The discussion seeks to highlight both the constructive and destructive outcomes of Orientalist scholarship throughout history
