Intestinal Helminth Infections Among Primary School Pupils in Nimo Community, Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State, Southeastern Nigeria
Study to determine the prevalence of intestinal helminth infections among primary schoolchildren in Nimo Community, Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State, Nigeria was undertaken.Four Primary Schools, namely Ugwu-Oye Primary School, Unity Primary School, St. Joseph’s PrimarySchool and Egbengwu Primary School were involved in the study. 120 pupils were selected from theschools and enlisted into the study. Direct smear and zinc sulphate solution (Flotation method) were usedfor the isolation of the helminth eggs. Of the 120 stool samples examined, 26(21.7%) harboured intestinal helminths, Egbengwu Primary School had the highest number of infection 10(33.3%) and St. Joseph’sPrimary School had the lowest 3(10.0%). Intestinal helminth infections observed were hookworms13(10.8%), Ascaris lumbricoides 7(5.83%), Trichuris trichiura 2(1.66%), Schistosoma mansoni 2 (1.66%), Strongyloides stercoralis 1(0.83%) and Taenia spp 1(0.83%). More females 14(23.3%) than the males12(20.0%) were infected. The age specific prevalence in the four schools was highest in 13-16 years agegroup 3(60.0%) and least in 5-8 years age group 8(16.0%). Government schools had higher prevalence of infection 18(30.0%) than private schools 8(13.3%). Generally poor sanitation, socio-economic status andignorance of the epidemiology of infection were related to the prevalence of infection
Framework and Assessment of Conversational Virtual Humans as Role-players in Simulated Social Encounters with People
As technology advances, people increasingly converse with computer conversational agents serving in a personal assistant role such as Siri or Cortona. Beyond the personal assistant role, a virtual humans may substitute for a person in another role during a social encounter in a simulated environment. From an experiential or pedantic training perspective, the resulting simulated social encounter may provide a forum by which real people may gain social skills. This article reviews advances in technology and science of virtual humans in faceto-face social encounters with people. An assessment framework is proposed based on a modification of the Schroeder, Adesope, & Gilbert framework [1]. Conversational attributes include verbal content and expression and nonverbal behavior such as head position or inclination, micro and macro facial or body emotional expression, eye gaze and direction, and other facial and other bodily gestures. Using that framework, ten instantiations of virtual humans are analyzed with respect to simulating a person in a bi-directional conversation. Findings and discussion address the question: can a virtual human truly be a social partner with a person for the purpose of social skills training? Within a social skills learning setting, analysis raises concern about the impact of textual data concurrently displayed with verbal message content and expression, and nonverbal behavior. Suggested future advanced technology research includes virtual human eye tracking technology in order to a better understand the cognitive science and behavioral responses associated with periods of engagement and boredom during interactions with a person

Hipotecas Humanas Y LA Renta Permanente
A Review on Classification Techniques for Human Activity Recognition
Recognizing human actions from video sequences has many important applications like video surveillance, patient monitoring, human computer interaction, dance choreography analysis, analysis of sports events and entertainment environments. It involves processing the video into frames firstly and finding out the interest points, then extracting the features and lastly specifying and labeling the videos following an appropriate classifying approach like Support Vector Machine, bag of words or nearest neighbor. This paper provides a detailed overview of various state-of-the-art research papers on human activity recognition using different types of classifiers. We surveyed various challenges exhibited by computer vision researchers like the problem of occlusion, 2D/3D pose estimation, variations in viewpoints, human body modeling especially of a person who is paralyzed or injured. From this survey, we can make conclusion of various advantageous and disadvantageous facts about different classifiers used in the detection and classification task
Material Management: A Sustainable Way to Reduce the Wastage
In today’s world construction work are going at unexpected speed in all area like building, bridge, high-rise and so on. As we know there are two side of coin same way there are some disadvantage of this speedy construction which leads towards a wastage, like Material, Money, Time, and so on. One of the most important part of wastage is due to Improper Material Management. If we not prepare good management technic of material management than it convert in to wastage. It shall be very hard to manage wastage rather than managing the material. So if we want to manage the waste we need to manage the material in Proper Way. For that first of all we need to find out the importance of Phases of Material Management and Crucial Factors which affects the material management

The research was both descriptive and comparative in nature done in four phases: Assessment of the Organization, OD Interventions, Monitoring and implementation and finally evaluation of the identified problems. The pre and post intervention data was collected from 25 staff who was involved in the study through administering of a 35 questions questionnaire, observation and interviews on specific people. The focus was on VMGS, Structure, Process, People and Technology. The t-test and p-value analysis showed a significance change leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis. The study concluded that the Intervention activities brought about the effective and efficient performance at PUEA. Further, it is an indicator that with the full implementation of the strategic plan, PUEA would achieve optimum performance. Based on the outcome and for continuity and sustainability, the study recommends that all the organizational development intervention activities done in the VMGS, Structure, Process, People and Technology should be institutionalized in the organization practices for increased performance
Investigating the Impact of Retail Outlet Attributes on Retail Patronage
The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of retail outlets attributes on retail patronage in Ghana; the main objective is to study outlet attributes that are requisite to attract patronage. Two hundred and nine (309) questionnaires were returned, out of five hundred (500) questionnaires distributed through convenience sampling method to the population. With the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) the following statistics were employed: descriptive statistics, cranach’s alpha, kurtosis and skewness and Chi-square analysis was used to measure the impact of attributes (price, service quality, customer satisfaction, and brand image) on dependent variable (customer loyalty). The findings revealed that all four construct of customer retention; namely price, service quality, customer satisfaction, and brand image had a significant and positive relationship with customer loyalty. The research suggests that Customer Relationship Managers (CRMs) finds out what customers expect and serve them better and solve all customers’ complaints on time
Impact of Social Media on Students Entrepreneurial Orientation: A Study of Selected Institutions in Nigeria
Regardless of huge prospects for entrepreneurial opportunity exploitation as provided by online social media, students’ predispositions to opportunity identification and business startup have been low. This has resulted to poor innovation, less business startup intention, and ultimately increased graduate unemployment in most developing nations. This study attempts to investigate the impact of online social networking on students’ entrepreneurial orientation. A survey of 185 undergraduates across various disciplines was selected from five tertiary institutions through a self-administered questionnaire. The data were analysed using both descriptive and inferential statistical tools with the aid of SPSS 1 6.0. The result revealed active engagement of students in online social network sites such as WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook among others. However, the test of hypothesis revealed an insignificant relationship between online social networks and students’ willingness to startup a business. The study recommends that students need to change their orientation towards embracing online social network as a platform for business idea generation, opportunity identification and business networking
Stock Market Price and Its Determinants: A Case Study of Nigerian Banks
Financial firms in a country make a substantial fraction of its equity market. The present study is aimed at examining the factors that influence stock prices with reference to Nigerian banks. Twelve commercial banks in Nigeria are considered for this study for 2012 and 2013. Using linear regression model and partial correlation, the results indicate that for both years considered, net asset value per share and price-book value ratio are strongly correlated with stock market price, and are having significant influence on the stock price. However, dividend per share and price-earnings ratio are significant in 2013, but insignificant in 2012
