This research aims to analyze the impact of health quality and pollution levels on tourist flows in six ASEAN countries during the period of 2010-2022. Health quality is measured based on life expectancy, population growth, and COVID-19, while pollution levels are assessed using the concentration of PM2.5 particles in the air. Data was obtained from reliable sources and analyzed using a panel data regression model. The method used in this research is panel data analysis with a common effects, fixed effects, and random effects approach to test the relationship between variables.  The approach chosen in this research is the general effects. Research results show that better health quality and lower pollution levels significantly increase the number of tourists visiting these countries. Research shows that health quality has a significant positive impact on tourist flows, while pollution levels have a significant negative impact. This finding shows that improving health quality and reducing pollution levels can encourage an increase in tourist flows. Thus, governments in ASEAN countries need to pay attention to health factors and design strategies to enhance the tourism sector by improving health quality and managing pollution

The data were collected from print and online publications. The study established that subsidy removal in Nigeria has a sociological impact on academic staff, students, and university administration. The study specifically identified increment in school fees and social vices like prostitution, kidnapping, robbery, and academic corruption as the social impacts of subsidy removal on academic staff, students, and university administration in Nigeria. Based on this finding, the study recommended that federal and state governments implement all palliative measures outlined to reduce the impact of subsidy removal, and the Government should increase the funding of universities to enable administrators to administer the universities well. Scholarships should be granted to tertiary institution students, and academic staff salaries should be increased

Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy and Venture Success of Manufacturing Firms in Rivers State, Nigeria

Manufacturing firms in Rivers State were the focus of this research, which aimed to assess their entrepreneurial self-efficacy and venture success. With government policy serving as the moderating variable, the dimensions of self-efficacy included accomplishment orientation, idea creation, and resilience. The indicators of venture success included financial success, market success, and operational success. The researchers in this study mostly used a survey research strategy based on correlations. Based on data collected from the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Rivers state branch, this study's population consists of 294 management workers from 98 manufacturing enterprises in Rivers state. This study used the taro yamen sampling formula with a sample size of 170. We used a structured questionnaire to gather our data. Items are dependable according to Cronbach's Alpha, which showed a dependability index of.874. You can see the responder demographics in the bar chart. We analyzed the study variables using descriptive statistics, which include means and standard deviations. To test our hypotheses, we used the Spearman Rank Order Correlation Coefficient with a significance threshold of 0.05. In order to examine the government policy controlling variable, we used the partial correlation. The study found that manufacturing firms in Rivers state that are achievement oriented are more likely to have ventures that are successful, that manufacturing firms in Rivers state that are resilient are more likely to have ventures that are successful, and that there is a significant relationship between idea generation and venture success. In Rivers state, entrepreneurial self-efficacy is a major factor in the success or failure of industrial businesses. It has an effect on the businesses' overall performance and sustainability by affecting accomplishment orientation, idea creation, and resilience. Findings from the research suggest that manufacturing companies may encourage a growth mindset among their workers by outlining specific, attainable goals that contribute to the overall purpose and vision of the company

Availability and Utilization of E-Learning Technologies for Teaching Business Subjects in Secondary Schools in Anambra State, Nigeria

The need to instill and engender efficiency and effectiveness in the implementation of curriculum for Business subjects calls for the utilization of e-learning technologies in instructional delivery. This study aimed to determine the extent of availability and utilization of e-Learning technologies for teaching of business subjects in the senior secondary schools in Anambra State. It specifically examined the extent of availability of e-Learning technologies; and assessed the extent utilization of various e-Learning technologies (hardware, software, and internet) by teachers of business subjects in the senior secondary schools in Anambra State. Four research question posed in line with the specific objectives guided the study; and has four corresponding hypotheses for mean differences. The study adopted a descriptive survey design to study a population of the 1260 out of which 164 samples were taken from the business subject teachers in Anambra State. The instrument for data collection is the Extent of E-learning Technologies Availability and Utilization Questionnaire (ETAUQ) structured in a Likert type format. The instrument was validated and have reliability of 0.9266 established using Cronbach Alpha. Data was analyzed using mean and standard deviation for the research questions and t-test for the hypotheses. The results showed that e-learning technologies availability at the secondary schools in Anambra State are considered to be at a moderate extent; e-learning hardware and software technologies were utilised at moderate extent; while the internet technologies was considered to be utilised at a low extent for teaching business subjects in the secondary schools in Anambra State. The hypotheses testing revealed that location (rural or urban) and gender (male and female) has no significant difference in the mean ratings of business subjects teachers on the extent of availability of e-Learning technologies for utilization; and the extent of utilization of e-Learning hardware technologies. However, teaching experience (above 10 years’ experience and below 10 years’ experience) in secondary schools in Anambra State differ significantly in their mean ratings on the extent of utilization of e-Learning software technologies in teaching. More is, business teachers with high qualification makes more effective utilization of the internet technologies than the low qualified business subject teachers in Anambra State. Among the recommendations were that curriculum planners should develop the curriculum that should include the use of e-learning technologies by secondary school teachers; and that secondary school administrators should sponsor the re-training of business subject teachers on the utilization of e-learning technologies in education so as to enhance their teaching skills

Gender Parity in the Teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (Stem) in Cameroon

The paper discusses the gender disparity in education, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). It examines the fact that teachers tend to stereotype mathematics as a male domain resulting in differential treatment of males and females in classrooms. This also results in the development of gender differences in STEM. It presents extracurricular, out of school factors and socio-cultural factors which contribute substantially to poor female enrolment in school thus causing serious gender imbalance in education in Cameroon and other African countries. The paper looks at the goals that lay the foundation for global policy on quality education and gender equity in the new millennium

Using a Deep Convolutional Neural Network to Identify Vehicle Driver Activity

Driver actions and judgments are the most critical aspects influencing passenger safety in a vehicle. Common things that drivers do include: driving safely, talking on the phone, texting, eating, reaching behind, altering hairstyle or makeup, operating the radio, and operating mobile phones. The first four are considered typical driving duties, whereas the latter seven are considered distractions. The strategy is to take in the live feed from the dashboard camera, process the frames with pre-trained convolutional neural network (CNN) models, and then refine it with the transfer learning method to identify the driver's activities. An activity recognition system for drivers is developed utilising deep Convolutional Neural Networks in order to monitor their actions (CNN).  A warning is sent to the driver based on the identified driver's actions. In addition to activating the warning lights, the system gently slows down the vehicle or forces the driver to shift to the side lane and come to a complete stop in order to protect everyone in the vehicle and the surrounding area
