Marketing Strategies of Ice Cream Companies in India
Although India is the world's largest milk and dairy products producer, it is surprising to see that ice cream consumption remains low at 400 ml. The Indian ice cream market is expected to grow to over 50% from 2019 to 2022, owing to several factors, including ice cream varieties available for the consumers, such as soft ice cream and hard ice cream.
The Indian ice cream market consists of both Indian and international brands. These brands are present across metropolitan cities, small towns, and even rural areas. While big brands account for a significant share of the market in cities, it is mostly the unorganised players contributing significantly to its growth in rural areas
Parental Influence on Financial Literacy and Behavior of Generation Z Students at UPN Yogyakarta
This study aims to determine the role of parents in providing financial education to Generation Z students at UPN Yogyakarta and how this education impacts their financial behavior. Utilizing a phenomenological research approach, the study involved in-depth interviews with ten respondents from UPN Yogyakarta. The research explores the factors that lead these students to recognize the importance of financial education imparted by their parents, along with other psychological and economic factors that underscore the necessity of financial literacy for wise money management. The findings reveal several key insights. Firstly, parents significantly shape their children's financial behaviors, with those who receive early financial education from their parents demonstrating better money management skills. Secondly, students who did not receive financial education from their parents often turn to digital platforms like YouTube and Instagram to gain financial knowledge. Thirdly, students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds are more likely to seek financial literacy independently to avoid financial pitfalls. Additionally, psychological factors, such as self-awareness and resilience, play a crucial role in shaping financial behavior. Lastly, there is a notable variation in financial literacy among the respondents, influenced by their family backgrounds and the financial education they received. These results underscore the importance of parental involvement in financial education and the need for targeted strategies to enhance financial literacy among students, particularly those from less privileged backgrounds. The study highlights the potential benefits of incorporating financial education into early childhood development to foster prudent financial behaviors

Based on these findings, the study recommends: (1) Strengthening family supervision; (2) Providing talk shows focused on blackmail; (3) Avoiding the sharing of personal photos with unknown individuals on social media; (4) Offering continuous information about cybercrimes and dealing with them transparently; (5) Implementing legislation to combat cybercrime through digital media; and (6) Promoting social security awareness through advertisements
Economic Growth, Population Density, and Human Development: Key Drivers of Environmental Quality in Indonesia
In an effort to understand the interactions between economic growth, population density, the Human Development Index (HDI), and the Environmental Quality Index (EQI) in Indonesia, this study adopts a quantitative approach utilizing panel data encompassing 34 provinces during the period from 2020 to 2022. This analysis implements fixed effects models in panel data regression to isolate the impact of these variables on environmental quality. Results indicate that neither economic growth nor population density significantly affect the EQI, while an increase in HDI significantly contributes to environmental improvement, emphasizing the importance of factors such as education, health, and living standards. Furthermore, the cross-section fixed effects analysis reveals significant provincial-specific factors influencing the EQI, which macroeconomic and demographic variables cannot fully explain. Variability among provinces shows that some have a strong positive effect on the EQI, whereas others have a negative impact, highlighting the need for regionally tailored policies to enhance effectiveness in environmental conservation efforts. These findings inform policymakers about the importance of focusing on human development as a key element in strategies to improve environmental quality in Indonesia. The implications suggest that sustainable development strategies must integrate aspects of human development with comprehensive environmental policies, creating synergies that support environmental preservation. This study makes a significant contribution to the literature by providing insights into effective ways that Indonesia can adopt to address current and future environmental challenges

Foreign Direct Investment and Economic Growth: The Nigerian Context
Despite the flow of FDI in Nigeria, there is still high rate of unemployment, leading to greater level of insecurity, banditry, kidnapping etc. Until adequate economic investments are actualized, it will be difficult to achieve and measure both human and material resources. The study investigated the relationship between foreign direct investment and economic growth in Nigeria using ex-post-facto research design. The time series data used covered the time period 1990-2022. The data were obtained from the Annual Statistical Bulletin of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The population for this study consists of the national economic data that is pertinent to this research. However, this limitation applies specifically to foreign direct investment, which includes both oil and non-oil foreign direct investment, as well as economic growth measured by real gross domestic product (RGDP). In line with the positivist investigation ethic and quantitative design, this study use parametric statistics as the technique for inferential analysis. This technique involves the utilisation of quantitative models to determine the connection between two variables. It uses sample-based parameters as metrics to make inferences about the population being studied. The analysis was conducted with linear regression. The analysis confirmed a substantial correlation between characteristics related to foreign direct investment and economic growth. Consequently, the study demonstrated a substantial and favourable correlation between variables related to foreign direct investment and economic growth. Hence, the study recommends that policymakers should formulate policies that both encourage foreign investment and safeguard and enhance domestic production and investment. These policies should align with the development objectives of the host countries. The Nigerian government should prioritise substantial investments in non-oil sectors like agriculture and mining to generate a multiplier effect and boost the productive capacity of non-oil exports. This will contribute to the long-term economic growth and sustainability of Nigeria
English-into-Arabic Subtitling of Swearwords: Kevin Hart’s Comedy Movies as a Case Study
The present study is concerned with the analysis of profane words uttered by characters in comedy movies starred by Kevin Hart. The research aims at identifying the semantic shifts of SWs in the Arabic subtitles of the selected movies and the possible causes of these shifts. In addition, it is devoted to diagnosing the changes in the pragmatic functions of SWs in the subtitles in comparison with those in the movies, specifying the translation strategies used by amateur subtitlers when subtitling SWs in the selected corpus into Arabic.
The difficulty that the study tries to find a solution to is that subtitlers tend to omit swearwords or tone them down with less interest of the contextual meaning of the words. Although there are many studies conducted on swearing in the subtitles, there are not so many studies concerned with the semantic shifts between the source and the target text.
It is hypothesized that in subtitling comedy movies, literal translation is mainly avoided to bridge the cultural differences between both speech communities since
it involves introducing harsh and offensive subtitled swearwords. Besides, target language receivers may consider some words offensive which are not so in the movies due to cultural differences.
In subtitling swearwords in comedy movies, it has been evidenced that subtitlers are mainly concerned with conveying the messages behind the words uttered by characters as far as possible. And at the same time, offensive words are typically subtitled non-literally owing to the fact that literal translation sometimes conveys harsh and socially undigested expressions.
A lot of subtitled swearwords were regarded by TL receivers as non-profane words and expressions. The reverse happens in that TL readers watching the subtitled comedy movies consider some words as being socially rejected while they are not so in the original spoken text. This is attributed to cultural differences between the two languages
