Dental practitioner often have to work in a very limited areas. Small object, narrow field of view, and poor lighting make a dental treatment difficult to perform correctly. Some procedures require a long time to be completed, forcing dental practitioner to work in a static condition and awkward position for quite a long time. Therefore, they are very susceptible to musculoskeletal disorders. Dental loupe represents a magnification which can be used to overcome this problem. It will provide enough visualisation, so we can work with normal working posture. There are various types of dental loupe sold on the market with varying prices range, so that we have a lot of choice of products. This article review was gathered from several scientific database to find out the use of dental loupe and working posture among dental practitioner and showed a moderate evidence that dental loupe improve working posture among dental profession

Physical attractiveness plays an important role in how we see ourselves and how we are seen by others. Individuals mainly focus on the eyes and mouth of others during interpersonal interactions. An attractive smile will create good interpersonal relationships. A perfect smile is created when there is harmony and balance between the shape of the face and teeth. Measurement of the lower anterior facial height is one of the vertical evaluations that has a close relation to a person's aesthetics and to orthodontic treatment. The width of the smile is the distance between the outer commissures of the lips. The aim of the study was to determine whether there is or no correlation between lower facial height and smile width in the Balinese at FKG Mahasaraswati Denpasar University. This study was an observational analytic study with a cross sectional design using a sample of 50 Balinese subjects aged 18-25 years at FKG Mahasaraswati Denpasar University. The sample used in this study was taken by simple random sampling technique based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collecting was done by direct measurement of the sample using calipers to measure the lower facial height and the width of the smile. The results showed a significant correlation between lower facial height and smile width with a significance value of 0.028 (p ≤0.05) and a correlation coefficient of 0.312 . A positive correlation indicates that the greater the lower facial height value, the greater the smile width value tends to be

Tooth extraction and periodontal disease is the most common cause of alveolar bone resorption. A technique has developed to gain the bone volume back, called Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR). GBR combine the application of bone graft particles and a barrier membrane, to protect bone regeneration from soft tissue invasion that grows faster. Collagen, pericardium, and cortical membranes are resorbable membranes that can be used in the GBR technique. Blood is an essential component of any regeneration that takes place in human body. Before the membrane is applied, it is usually be rehydrated with saline to flex the membrane so that easily applied. To observe the effect of saline rehydration on the O type blood adsoption speed on collagen, pericardium, and cortical membranes. Collagen, pericardium, and cortical membranes each 14 membranes and 2×1.5 cm in size were divided into two groups, 7 samples for group membranes without saline rehydration and 7 samples for group membranes with saline rehydration. Each group samples were submerged in 75 ml blood. The measurement of the O type blood adsorption speed was examined in 10 minutes for each group. The data was analyzed using Independent T-Test and resulted a significance value of less than 0.05 (Sig<0.05). It shows a significant difference between the control group and the treatment group. There is a difference in the speed of type O blood adsorption between collagen, pericardium, and cortical membranes with and without saline rehydration.Membrane with saline rehydration has a faster blood adsorption speed so that it is less good as a barrier membrane

In recent years, a growing number of Indonesian people perform maintenance on the oral cavity includingperiodontitis if not treated will cause alveolar bone resorption that would lead to bone fractures, tooth loss and the difficulty of post-orthodontic treatment. The main factors that cause periodontitis is bacterial plaque. The bacteria that most contribute to the onset periodontitis is Gram-negative bacteria that will release products including biologically active endotoxin or lipopolysaccharide (LPS) that causes inflammation and induce cellular events in periodontal tissues, especially in the alveolar bone. This stimulation becomes an induced activation function and activity of osteoclasts increased and decreased number of osteoblasts, which in turn will lead to the destruction of the alveolar bone inorganic minerals and alveolar bone resorption. Essential to these problems, the researcher wanted to know more about the decrease the number of osteoblasts in alveolar bone resorption in white male rats (Rattus norvegicus), Sprague Dawley strain induced by LPS. This study is a preliminary study using 6 white male rats Sprague Dawley strain were divided into two groups: control group (normal rats were not induced LPS) and the treatment group (induced by LPS) using Post Test Only Control Group Design. Results showed that the average number of osteoblasts in the treatment group (37 cells per five field of view) is lower than the control group (76 cells per five field of view). This preliminary study concluded that decreased the number of osteoblast in alveolar bone resorption in white male rats Sprague Dawley strain induced by LPS

Osteoblasts are bone-forming cells to grow and play a role in regulation of bone metabolism, including alveolar bone. Imbalance of osteoblasts number in bone formation may lead loss of bone mass, which is causes osteoporosis. Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) is an oxidant that take important roles in osteoclast activation, osteoclastogenesis and activation of osteoblasts inhibition. Kombucha tea has antioxidant effects. This study was conducted to determine Kombucha tea fermented on 14 days make the osteoblasts in the mandibular bone of male wistar rat more numerous. This research was a purely experimental method with Randomized Post Test Control Group Design. Subjects consisted of ten of three – month male wistar rats were divided into 2 groups. Control group received aquadest for 30 days, on the other hand the treatment group were treated by 8 ml of Kombucha tea for 30 days. On the 31st day, rats were euthanized for tissue sampling and histological preparation of mandibular bone and subjected for HE staining. The test results based on comparison between the control group and treatment group with independent t-test showed that there were significant differences in osteoblasts number in mandibular bone of wistar rats (p<0.05). Kombucha tea contain epicatechin gallate (ECG) that stimulate osteoblasts differentiation and inhibit induction of Receptor Activator Of Nuclear Factor-κB Ligand (RANKL). Further more, Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and theaflavin (TF) detoxify molecules of ROS and enhance osteoblastogenesis. This study concluded that administration of Kombucha tea fermented on 14 days make osteoblasts in the mandibular bone of wistar rat more numerous
