When tooth loss occurs, the absence of mechanical stimulus on alveolar ridge, the decline occurred because the height of the alveolar ridge undergoes a slow physiological resorption. The purpose of this research is to know the difference and the average height of the mandibular alveolar ridge in edentulous and dentate women using panoramic radiography. The method of this research is an analytical method with cross-sectional approach. Total sample of 40 women, edentulous and dentate has been measured. Measurements were made by measuring the distance between the lowest point of mandibula and alveolar crest mandibula on the incisor point, right and left premolar, right and left molar. Statistical test is done using independent t test. The results showed that the average value of a dentate women sample is greater than edentulous. Average value obtained by the dentate sample is greatest in right premolar point by 29,53 mm ± 2,36 mm and the smallestat the left molar point by 25,48 mm ± 2,41 mm. Average value obtained by the edentulous sample is greatest in right molar point by 22,26 mm ±  3,67 mm and the smallest at the left premolar point by 21,21 mm ± 4,79 mm. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the height of the mandibular alveolar ridge on edentulous sample and dentate in everypoint of measurement. The average height of the mandibular alveolar ridge in edentulous sample is 21,78 mm ± 3,88 mm and the dentate sample is 27,71 mm ± 2,77   &nbsp

ABSTRACT Tooth size determines a person's aesthetics. Some guidelines that can help in determining the size of the maxillary anterior teeth are pre-extraction instructions such as facial photographs, diagnostic models, radiographic photographs, and extracted teeth.  If the instructions before extraction are not obtained then an ideal proportionis needed. This study aims to determine whether or not thereis a relationship between the width and high of the face to the mesiodistal and cervico incisal of the maxillary central incisors and what is the proportion of these teeth.  This research is a analytic observasional research with design of crosssectional,  using samples of 47 subjects from Bali'sTrobe age 17_25 at Facultyof Dentistry in Unmas Denpasar. The resul to research show a significant correlation between face width and high to the size of mesiodistal and servico incisal of the maxillary centralincisorson Bali'sTrobe. The proportion of face and teeth of Balinese belonging to the Mongoloid race was obtain 1 :1,639 and mesiodistal and cervicoincisal of the maxillary central incisors where1 : 1,640

Introduction: Surgical with an incision or tissue incision process can causes injury or tissue damage to the oral cavity, especially the gingiva. Wound healing can last a long time, this condition can increase the potential for complications such as infections and less blood supply. Garlic contains several active substances including flavonoids, tannins, phenols and alkaloids and organosulfur compounds namely allicin. The content is believed to stimulate macrophage cells and help the work of macrophages in cleaning the wound area, so that it accelerates into the phase of proliferation and wound healing. Materials and method: The research method is using experimental laboratory research with post-test design group. Results: The results showed that the average number of macrophage cells in the control group CMC-Na 2% 97,50 cells, mean group of 40% garlic extract gel was 58,83 cells, mean group of 50% garlic extract gel was 18,00 cells, mean 60% garlic extract gel group was 7,83 cells. Discussion: The results of statistical tests show that there are significant differences (ρ <0,05) in the four study groups. Conclussion: Garlic extract gel in concentration of 60% was more effective in reducing the number of macrophage cells in guinea pig gingival incision because the percentage of active content

Composite resin is a restoration material that is often used because the composite resin has good aesthetic value like mimetic the teeth color. Composite resins have a physical and mechanical condition. One of the mechanical condition is hardness. The surface hardness of composite resins is the surface resistance of the composite resin material to the applied pressure. One of the factors influencing composite hardness is the food and beverages consumed. Consuming acidic drinks continuously for a long time period can erode composite resin filling. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of soaking into a citrus lemon on the hardness of nanohybrid composite resin. This type of research was true experimental with pre-test post-test with control group design using 24 composite resin samples which are divided into 4 groups with 6 samples each. The groups in this study were nanohybrid composite resins soaked with citrus lemon and aqua dest for 60 minutes and 120 minutes. The hardness tested using a Vicker hardness tester. The results of the study using the LSD (Least Significant Difference) test showed that the significance value of p= 0.014 (p<0.05), which means that the use of citrus lemon for 120 minutes affected the hardness of nanohybrid composite resin. In conclusion, soaking with citrus lemon for 120 minutes reduces more the hardness of nanohybrid composite resin compared with soaking for 60 minutes

Early childhood caries (ECC) is caries that affects children under the age of 6. According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), ECC is defined as the presence of one or more teeth with caries (cavities or no cavities), missing teeth due to caries or the presence of restoration deciduous teeth in children under 71 months. If it occurred on the smooth surface of the tooth in children under 3 years of age, indicating severe early childhood caries (S-ECC). Streptococcus Mutans plays a role in the etiology of caries of preschool children, which is a contagious infectious disease, Streptococcus Mutans are acidogenic bacteria (can produce acid) and aciduric (can live in acidic environments). The occurrence of caries is a complex process of interaction between host factors (teeth), microorganisms, substrates (carbohydrates) and the environment, including saliva. Several markers related to ECC and S-ECC namely lysozyme, lactoferrin saliva, IL-8, CD36 salivary neutrophil
