Introduction: Denture stomatitis is a chronic inflammation caused by wearing dentures, mainly caused by Candida albicans. Heat-polymerized acrylic resins are often used as denture bases, but lack the ability to absorb liquids due to their porosity and surface roughness. The basis of the latest dentures is thermoplastic nylon because it is more aesthetically, hypoallergenic and more flexible. Soursop leaf extract contains alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, and saponins as antifungal. The purpose of this study was to examinate whether there were differences in the number of Candida albicans colonies on heat-polymerized acrylic resin plates and thermoplastic nylon in soursop leaf extract immersion. Materials and Methods: The research design was an experimental pre-post test with control group design, n = 50 plates were divided into 2 groups, heat-polymerized acrylic resin (n=25) and thermoplastic nylon (n=25), divided into 5 groups, 3 treatment groups using 10%,15%,25% soursop leaf extract, Fittident® and aquadest in the control groups. Samples were contaminated with Candida albicans suspension and incubated, counted before immersion for 8 hours, then put in Saboroud’s bath and counted again. Results and Discussions: Wilcoxon test analysis showed significant differences in all groups, except the aquadest group. The Mann-Whitney test showed significant differences between the treatment groups, except between the 25% extract and the Fittident® control group. Also, showed a significant difference in the 15% concentration group between heat-polymerized acrylic resin and thermoplastic nylon. Conclusion: There was a difference in the decrease in the number of Candida albicans colonies on heat-polymerized acrylic resin plates and thermoplastic nylon in soursop leaf extract at a concentration of 15%, while at concentrations of 10% and 25% there was no difference

Introduction: Pulpectomy is the procedure of taking the entire pulp tissue from all the roots and corona of a tooth. There are several materials for obturation / root canal fillers in deciduous teeth, namely zinc oxide eugenol (ZOE), calcium hydroxide and iodoform paste a mixture of calcium hydroxide. A 6 year old boy patient came to RSGM with his parents seeking for treatment a tooth with a large cavity in the upper left posterior region and had been pain before. Intraoral examination revealed deep caries in the occlusal tooth 65 which reaching the pulp, percussion (-), palpation (-), mobility (-), vitality (-). Radiographic examination of tooth 65 showed a radiolucent image that had reached the pulp and the root canals had not yet undergone resorption. The diagnosis of this case was pulp necrosis at tooth 65. Case management: The treatment plan to be carried out was non-vital pulpectomy on tooth 65 and used technique non-vital pulpectomy because the tooth had already necrosis. Discussion: The filler used is ZOE. The reason for choosing this material was because it was indications for the use of ZOE material for teeth with necrosis. Conclussion: ZOE has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties that can reduce pain

Introduction: Endodontic treatment failure can be caused by the bacterium E. faecalis, which has a prevalence of up to 90%. E. faecalis is difficult to eradicate because it forms a biofilm to defend itself against antibacterial agents. Lime leaves are one of the many herbal products available in Indonesia (Citrus hystrix DC). Lime leaf extracts include antibacterial components such as essential oils, phenolics, alkaloids, saponins, and tannins. The purpose of this study was to investigate the antibacterial activity of lime leaf extract against E. faecalis bacterium. Material and Methods: The agar diffusion technique was used for four experimental groups, using lime leaf extract at 4% (group 1), 8% (group 2), and 16% (group 3) as the negative control. Each group was repeated six times on Muller Hinton Agar (MHA) medium with a paper disc, and the diameter of the inhibitory zone was measured with a caliper. Results and Discussions: The results revealed that a 4 % concentration of lime leaf extract had an average inhibition zone diameter of 7.31 mm, an 8 % concentration had an average inhibition zone diameter of 8.59 mm, and a 16 % concentration had an average inhibition zone diameter of 11.41 mm. The difference in the inhibition zone was statistically significant (p= 0,000) evaluated using the one-way ANOVA. Conclusion: It can be concluded that lime leaf extract is antibacterial potential against E. faecalis bacteria in the endodontic treatment
