    Dimensional accuracy of the impression model is very important in determining the success of denture treatment. The choice of printing technique is a factor that has a big influence on the printout. Digital impression and double impression techniques have good dimensional stability and provide accurate print details on the working model. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of dimensional accuracy of the digital impression and double impression models in the manufacture of bridge dentures. The research materials used were polyvinyl siloxanes elastomeric impression materials, stone gypsum type IV and aquades. The tools used are the master model, physiological printing spoon, glass stirrer, lekron, bowl spatula, calipers and 3D laser scanner. This research method used a laboratory experimental study design, and the master model was imprinted on the simulation of two abutments using digital impression and double impression techniques. The results showed that the digital impression technique showed a significant difference measured from the mesiodistal distance with the smallest value -0.004, the largest 0.011, the average difference 0.0369, at the occlusogingival distance the smallest value -0.003, the largest 0.009, the average difference 0.0375 , and the smallest value of interbutment distance is -0.001 and the largest is 0.000, and the average difference is -0.00031. The double impression technique showed a significant difference measured from the mesiodistal distance, the smallest value was -0.004, the largest was 0.011, the average difference was 0.00663, at the occlusogingival distance the smallest value was -0.014, the largest was 0.003, the average difference was 0.00300, and the interabutment distance was the smallest -0.001, the largest 0.003, and the average difference 0.00044. The conclusion of this study is that the digital impression technique is more accurate than the double impression technique in making denture bridges

    Introduction: An abscess is pathological, pus-filled cavity caused by mixedbacterial infection. Bacteria that a role in the process, namely Staphyloccocusaureus. Treatment of abscesses is usually by antibiotics. Abscesses caused byStaphylococcus aureus appears to be resistant to antibiotics, alternative needed by utilizing herbal plants such as garlic. Garlic has active ingredientallicin has antibacterial. Objective: The purpose was to determined whichmethod was the most effective among maceration and soxhletation methodsin making garlic extract with a concentration of 50% against the resistance ofStaphyloccocus aureus. Material and Methods: The research method usedKirby Bauer method which is sensitivity test with the agar diffusion methodusing the disc diffusion technique. The Kirby Bauer sensitivity test usingselective media, namely Muller Hinton Agar media, the inhibition zone iscreated area with a clear zone around the disc. Result: Data obtained fromthe results this study were statistically tested using normality with Shapiro-Wilk to see whether the data normally distributed or not, the expression was with the One Way Anova test to see whether there was a difference that could be measured later with the Least Significant Differencetest to see groups that are influential in inhibiting bacteria. Discussion: Thecontent of active compounds from garlic extract by soxhletation methodmore easily extracted because circulation that can increase the rate of transfercompounds from extract. Conclusion: The results, 50% concentration ofgarlic extract using the soxhletation more effective in inhibiting the growth ofStaphylococcus aureus bacteria than the maceration method

    Introduction: The mandibular movement pattern was used to evaluate the presence of a dysfunction. Impaired TMJ function is called temporomandibular disorder (TMD). One of the causes that are often associated with TMD is a bad habit of chewing one side. This habit is often done without realizing it, causing an imbalance in the distribution of the chewing load and can result in deviation or displacement. The occurrence of TMD can be characterized by limited mouth opening of less than 40 mm. Objective: This study aims to determine the presence of abnormalities in the pattern of mandibular movement in the bad habit of chewing on one side. Methods: The research method used is descriptive observational research with saturated sampling technique with a sample of 25 students of the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahasaraswati University Denpasar, class of 2017. Data collection was carried out by observing through videos of mandibular movement patterns. Results and conclusions: The results showed the pattern of mandibular movement with the habit of chewing on one side, in men who deviated 28%, in women 32%, while in men who did not deviate 12% and in women as much as 28%

    Introduction: Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS), also known as canker sores, is an inflammation that occurs in the oral mucosa. Frangipani leaf extract and jatropha leaf extract are known to contain saponins, tannins and flavonoids that function as wound healers and antimicrobials. Purpose: Determine whether the administration of frangipani leaf extract (Plumeria acuminata Ait) is more effective in curing recurrent aphthous stomatitis than jatropha leaf extract (Jatropha curcas L). Materials and Methods: The method used is experimental study with a purposive sampling of 30 people. frangipani leaf extract (Plumeria acuminata Ait) and jatropha leaf extract (Jatropha curcas L) were applied to each of 15 samples. Statistical calculations using the Independent T-test. Result and Discussion: The results showed that the mean difference in diameter reduction of recurrent aphthous stomatitis in the first sample group of frangipani leaf extract (Plumeria Acuminata Ait) was 1.13 mm, while in the second sample group Jatropha leaf extract (Jatropha curcas L) was 0.47 mm. From the results of the Independent T-Test test on frangipani leaf extract (Plumeria acuminata Ait) obtained a sig value of 0.002 (p<0.05) and jatropha leaf extract (Jatropha curcas L) of 0.002 (p<0.05), indicating that there is the difference between the use of frangipani leaf extract (Plumeria acuminata Ait) and jatropha leaf extract (Jatropha curcas L) in the treatment of recurrent aphthous stomatitis. Conclusion: frangipani leaf extract (Plumeria acuminata Ait) was more effective in curing recurrent aphthous stomatitis (SAR) than jatropha leaf extract (Jatropha curcas L)

    Introduction: tooth extraction can cause injury involving the bone structure and soft tissue of the oral cavity. Tooth extraction can cause various complications, one of which is bleeding. Red ginger is a type of spice that ismost widely used in various food and beverage recipes. Red ginger is commonly used by the public as a cold, digestive, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic drug. Various studies have shown that ginger has antioxidant properties, flavonoids, and oleoresins found in the rhizome. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the concentration of red ginger extract (Zingiber Officinale Varr. Rubrum) on collagen density after extraction of guinea pig teeth (Cavia porcellus). Materials and method: the method of this research is an experimental in vivo laboratory with a post-test-only control group design. The hypothesis test was carried out by the One Way Anova test and was carried out on 24 male guinea pigs. The experimental animals were divided into 4 groups which were distinguished by concentration, 10%, 20%, 30%, and the control group was given 2% CMC-Na gel respectively. Results and discussions: The results showed that red ginger extract gel concentrations of 10%, 20%, and 30% can increase collagen density compared to CMC-Na 2%. Conclusion: the red ginger extract gel with a concentration of 30% was most effective at increasing collagen density compared to concentrations of 10% and 20%

    Introduction: Pericoronitis is defined as inflammation of the gingiva caused by infection of the soft tissue around a partially erupted tooth. Pericoronitis is caused by the accumulation of food debris under the operculum surrounding a partially erupted tooth, which provides a place for a wide variety of polymicrobial flora. The most common area for pericoronitis is the partially erupted lower third molar. According to the international classification, pericoronitis can be classified as acute and chronic. Case: A 23-year-old female patient came with complaints of pain in the lower left side. Clinical and radiographic examination showed 38 partially erupted teeth with vertical grade 1 A impaction. The operator decided to perform operculectomy on tooth 38. Case Treatment: The procedure was carried out under infiltration anesthesia with lidocaine HCl + epinephrine, the incision was made using a blade no.12 on the bleeding point that had been made previously, after excision of the operculum, the operating area was irrigated with saline solution and controlled bleeding with the application of a periodontal pack. Discussions: After one week of control, there was still redness and pain when palpated, then oxyfresh gel was applied. four week follow up shows, there was no redness, and pain when palpated. Wound healing after operculectomy looks good, no reccurent and inflammation sign and the patient has no complaints Conclusion and Suggestions: Operculectomy can be the main therapy in cases of pericoronitis with vertical IA and partial eruption

    Informed Consent as a legal implication of the general agreement regulated in Article 1320 BW is the embodiment of a therapeutic agreement which is included in the law of engagement, specifically a legal relationship between a number of legal subjects who bind themselves to do or not do something to another party. Therapeutic agreement is an agreement formed because of the legal relationship between doctor and patient. Legal relationship is the relationship between legal subjects or between legal subjects and legal objects, which are regulated by law. The conditions for the occurrence of a legal relationship are the existence of a legal basis, namely the legal regulations governing the relationship and the existence of legal events, namely events that have consequences regulated by law. Before giving medical treatment to the patient, based on Law no. 36 of 2009 concerning Health, Law no. 29 of 2004 concerning Medical Practice and Menistry of Health No. 585/Menkes/Per/IX/1989 concerning Approval of Medical Action which was later changed to Menistry of Health No. 290/Menkes/Per/III/2008 Regarding Medical Action Approval, doctors must obtain informed consent from their patients for medical treatment, since without that doctors can be legally blamed for their actions.     Introduction: Indonesian people experience dental and oral health problemsas much as 57.6%, one of the dental and oral health problems that is oftentreated is periodontal disease. Alternative prevention of periodontal disease isby consuming probiotics (Lactobacillus reuteri). Probiotic (Lactobacillusreuteri) contains L. reuteri bacteria which inhibits periodontal and cariogenicpathogenic bacteria so that it is suspected to increase salivary flow rate. Objectives: to determine the effectiveness of probiotics (Lactobacillus reuteri) to increase salivary secretion. Materials and methods: this studyused an experimental approach with a pre-test and post-test design. The research subjects were 30 students of the Faculty of Dentistry, MahasaraswatiDenpasar University who met the research criteria. The sample was dividedinto two groups, namely the group that consumed the probiotic Interlac Pro-D lozenges and the group that consumed a placebo. The data taken werethe salivary flow rate, which was measured twice, before and after administration of the probiotic Interlac Pro-D lozenges and placebo. Dataanalysis: data is processed using paired t-test and independent t-test. Resultsand Discussion: The results showed that the average salivary secretion before consuming Interlac Pro-D probiotic tablets was 0.3073 ± 0.02492 ml/minute, increasing to 0.328 ± 0.03299 ml/minute, placebo increasing to 0.276± 0.02293 ml/minute to 0.2853 ± 0.0256 ml/minute. There was a differencein the effectiveness of increasing salivary secretion between the groups consuming the probiotic Interlac Pro-D tablets and placebo (p <0.005). Conclusion: taking probiotic lozenges Interlac Pro-D (Lactobacillus reuteriprodentis) is effective in increasing salivary secretion which is beneficial forpreventive therapy of periodontal disease
