    Abstract Short story writing is one of the productive language skills that demands creativity, logic, and mastery of narrative structure. This skill not only fosters self-expression but also enhances students’ critical and imaginative thinking. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the CIRC learning model in improving students’ short story writing skills. The research was conducted at MA Muslimin Cijenuk with a sample of 30 eleventh-grade students. A mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory design w as employed. Data were collected through tests, observations, questionnaires, and interviews. The CIRC learning model was implemented in two sessions involving activities such as reading, group discussions, writing, feedback, and revision. The findings indicate a significant increase in post-test scores compared to pre-test scores. The average score improved from 57.00 to 82.33, suggesting that the CIRC model is effective in enhancing students’ short story writing skills. Keterampilan ini tidak hanya melatih ekspresi diri, tetapi juga kemampuan berpikir kritis dan imajinatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran CIRC dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks cerpen siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MA Muslimin Cijenuk dengan sampel sebanyak 30 siswa kelas XI. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode campuran (mixed method) dengan desain sequential explanatory. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes, observasi, angket, dan wawancara. Model pembelajaran CIRC diterapkan dalam dua pertemuan yang mencakup kegiatan membaca, diskusi kelompok, menulis, pemberian umpan balik, dan revisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada nilai post-test dibandingkan pre-test. Rata-rata nilai meningkat dari 57,00 menjadi 82,33. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran CIRC efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis cerpen siswa.     The Development of Mathematical Literacy Instrument: A Case on Indonesian Traditional Game Called “Engklek”

    Mathematical literacy constitutes a fundamental competency that enables learners to apply mathematical concepts in solving problems within everyday contexts. However, a considerable number of students continue to encounter challenges in establishing connections between mathematical knowledge and real-world applications. This circumstance underscores the necessity of developing assessment instruments that are both valid and reliable. Accordingly, the presents study seeks to construct a test instrument designed to assess students’ mathematical literacy skills through an exploratory approach grounded in the Indonesian traditional game Engklek. The research adopted the 4D development framework, consisting of the stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. During the define stage, a comprehensive needs analysis was conducted, followed by the formulation of assessment indicators. At the design stage, test items were systematically developed by integrating components of mathematical literacy with contextual elements from Engklek. The develop stage encompassed expert validation, wherein several dimensions-namely clarities of instructions, appropriateness of illustrations, diversity and difficulty of test items, application of mathematical concepts, and opportunities for reasoning-were rigorously evaluated. Finally, the disseminate stage comprised limited trials accompanied by the collection of student responses. The expert validation result demonstrated strong feasibility, across the evaluated aspects. Empirical validation produced a validity coefficient of 0,514, categorized as moderate, while reliability test yielded a coefficient of 0,786644, reflecting a high level of reliability. Furthermore, limited trials conducted with Grade 7 and 8 students showed a positive response with an average percentage score of 65%. Based on these findings, the developed test instrument can be regarded as valid, reliable, and pedagogically suitable for assessing students’ mathematical literacy in an engaging and contextually meaningful manner

    The Effect of Problem Based Learning on Students’ Mathematical Problem Solving Skills

    This study was motivated by the low mathematical problem-solving skills of students at SMP Negeri 2 Suwawa, which is believed to be caused by the use of the Direct Instruction model that has not effectively supported the development of such skills. This study aimed to examine the effect of implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities, particularly on the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV). The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest design with a nonequivalent group. The participants were students of classes VIII-3 and VIII-4 at SMP Negeri 2 Suwawa, selected through cluster random sampling. The instrument used was a test measuring mathematical problem-solving skills based on SPLDV material. The hypothesis was tested using the t-test, which yielded a result of tₕ = 3.767 > tₜ = 2.024, indicating that students taught using the PBL model had significantly higher average problem-solving abilities than those taught using the Direct Instruction model. Additionally, the effect size calculated with Cohen’s d was 1.191, categorized as a high effect. These results suggest that the implementation of Problem-Based Learning significantly enhances students' mathematical problem-solving skills and can serve as an effective alternative to traditional instructional models in mathematics learning

    The Development of Google Classroom-Assisted Interactive Learning Media to Improve Mathematical Understanding on Pythagorean Theorem

    Mathematics is a fundamental discipline that plays an essential role in developing logical, analytical, and critical thinking skills. However, many students still face difficulties in understanding abstract concepts such as the Pythagorean theorem, which negatively impacts their learning motivation and outcomes. The purpose of this study was to design and develop interactive learning media based on Google Classroom for teaching the Pythagorean theorem to eighth-grade students. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Six validators were involved, including three media experts, two material experts, and one mathematics teacher. In addition, small- and large-scale trials were conducted with 10 and 20 students, respectively. Research instruments included expert validation sheets, student and teacher questionnaires, and readability tests. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques with percentage calculations to determine the validity and practicality of the developed product. The results showed that the interactive media obtained an average score of 86% from material experts (very valid), 78% from media experts (valid), and 84% from student responses (practical). Students reported that the media was easy to use, attractive, and helpful in understanding the Pythagorean theorem, while the teacher assessed it as very practical for classroom use. In conclusion, the developed interactive learning media based on Google Classroom is categorized as valid and practical, making it a promising alternative resource for teaching mathematics in junior high schools

    This study is motivated by the need to improve the quality of teaching and student learning outcomes in elementary schools in the context of rapid technological development. The research aims to analyze the impact of implementing the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) approach in differentiated learning assisted by Chromebooks on the science learning outcomes of sixthgrade students at SD Negeri 2 Harian, Samosir. The STAD approach emphasizes cooperative learning and shared achievement, while differentiated learning accommodates students’ diverse needs in terms of content, process, and assessment. Chromebooks were utilized to support learning flexibility and access to digital resources. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and analysis of students’ learning outcome documents. The research involved seven sixth-grade students with diverse learning characteristics. The results indicate that the integration of the STAD approach with Chromebookassisted differentiated learning increased student engagement, collaboration, and interaction during learning. Quantitative data showed that 85.7% of students achieved scores above the Minimum Completeness Criteria. In addition, qualitative findings revealed improvements in students’ critical thinking, problemsolving abilities, and digital literacy.     Workshop Pembuatan Media Pembelajaran Matematika Berbasis Barang Bekas untuk Guru Sekolah Dasar

    Basic education is the primary foundation for developing students' logical, critical, and creative thinking skills. However, limited resources in special needs areas (DBK) remain a significant challenge, particularly in providing contextual and economical learning media. This community service initiative was motivated by the need for elementary school teachers in the DBK area to improve their skills in designing engaging, applicable, and recyclable mathematics learning media. The program aimed to increase teachers' capacity in developing creative learning media utilizing recyclable materials readily available in the surrounding environment. This program employed a participatory approach through training workshops, discussions, and hands-on practice. The theories underlying this program included constructivist theory in mathematics learning (Piaget, 1973; Vygotsky, 1978) and a contextual education approach (Johnson, 2002). Evaluation results showed a significant increase in teachers' understanding and skills after the training. The program had a positive impact on teachers' readiness to present mathematics materials creatively and environmentally friendly. The conclusions of this activity indicate that training in creating recyclable media is an effective strategy for improving the quality of mathematics learning in the DBK area.Pendidikan dasar merupakan pondasi utama dalam pengembangan kemampuan berpikir logis, kritis, dan kreatif siswa. Namun, keterbatasan sumber daya di daerah berkebutuhan khusus (DBK) masih menjadi tantangan signifikan, terutama dalam penyediaan media pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan ekonomis. Pengabdian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan guru sekolah dasar di wilayah DBK untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mereka dalam merancang media pembelajaran matematika yang menarik, aplikatif, dan berbasis barang bekas. Tujuan dari program ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kapasitas guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran kreatif dengan memanfaatkan barang bekas yang mudah ditemukan di lingkungan sekitar. Kegiatan ini menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif melalui workshop pelatihan, diskusi, dan praktik langsung. Teori yang mendasari kegiatan ini meliputi teori konstruktivistik dalam pembelajaran matematika (Piaget, 1973; Vygotsky, 1978), serta pendekatan pendidikan kontekstual (Johnson, 2002). Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan guru setelah mengikuti pelatihan.     The Impact of Youtube on Indonesian EFL Senior High School Student’s Motivation

    This research investigates the impact of YouTube through the motivation of Indonesian senior high school students learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL). This research aims to offer insights for educators and students as a guide to develop educational content so that it can increase the motivation to learn. The methodology used was a quantitative approach, which involves 90 ten grade students from a senior high school in Indonesia. Data were collected through questionnaires that measure students' views on using YouTube for learning English and its effects on their motivation. The finding is to show that YouTube is an effective platform for increasing students' motivation to learn English by making the learning process more enjoyable and encouraging independent study. However, issues like unreliable content and distractions need to be addressed. By curating trustworthy materials and integrating YouTube into structured lessons, educators can enhance its effectiveness as a motivational learning resource. The author hopes to hear constructive feedback from the audience to enhance the quality of this research proposal

    Writing Anxiety Among Indonesian EFL Students in Online Discussion Forum

    In the context of online learning increasingly adopted by an Indonesian higher education institution, students must adapt to new modes of instruction, which may lead to anxiety, particularly in EFL writing through online discussion forums. This study aims to identify and describe the types, levels, and contributing factors of writing anxiety, as well as how students manage their anxiety in online discussion settings. A mixed-methods approach with a concurrent triangulation design was used to understand the phenomenon. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews with twenty-five first-semester master's students in the English Education Study Program at a private university in Jakarta.The findings revealed that most students experienced moderate anxiety, with cognitive anxiety being the most prevalent type. Contributing factors included linguistic difficulties, fear of negative comments, and time pressure. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of supportive instructional strategies and self-regulation in reducing writing anxiety among EFL learners in digital contexts

    The background of this research is that entrepreneurship education is needed by the students as a provision after they return to their respective areas, however the management of the moring entrepreneurship program at the Miftahul Huda Al-Hasan Islamic boarding school is still lacking, this can be seen from the lack of supervision of the students' independence. The aim of this research is to identify the process of fostering the independence of students at the Miftahul Huda Al-Hasan Islamic boarding school through the moring entrepreneurship program. The theory used in this research is the concept of fostering independence, entrepreneurship, and Islamic boarding schools. The research uses qualitative research methods so that the approach used is a qualitative descriptive approach. Interviews, observation and documentation were used as data collection techniques in this research. The research location was at the Miftahul Huda Al-Hasan Islamic boarding school. The respondents were one manager, one educator and 5 students. Based on research results, the results of entrepreneurship coaching are that 90% of students master it before receiving coaching, students have difficulty in the process, but when they are given coaching, students begin to know and learn to do it

    PERAN TUTOR DALAM PROSES PERKEMBANGAN SOSIAL ANAK USIA DINI DI PLATGROUP ISLAM EL-AKHYAAR CITEUREUP

    This study aims to describe the role of tutors, the impact, and the factors that influence early childhood social development. This playgroup is designed to be an appropriate environment for play, aiding in the growth and development of children, particularly in their social development. Harlock (1978), as cited in Khadijah and Jf (2021:12), states that "social development means the acquisition of the ability to behave in accordance with social demands." This research employs a case study method with a qualitative approach, involving interviews, observation, and documentation. The subjects of this study consisted of five respondents. Data analysis was carried out through a process of collection, presentation, reduction, and verification. The findings indicate that tutors play a crucial role as facilitators in guiding and training children to exhibit good social behaviors such as adaptation, interaction, tolerance, and responsibility. Additionally, tutors serve as role models, whose attitudes and actions significantly influence children's social development in their external environment. The most influential factors in children's social development are their internal emotional and intellectual factors. In conclusion, tutors at the El-Akhyaar Citeureup Islamic Playgroup have effectively fulfilled their roles in fostering good social behavior in children. However, it is recommended to build partnerships to implement programs that further support the process of children's growth and development. &nbsp
