Then the results also show that the use of scientific methods can improve students' higher order thinking. Although the use of the WhatsApp application is widely used for learning due to the pandemic, there needs to be further research and solutions to overcome these shortcomings
Designing an Uno-Based English Game to Enhance Speaking Skills of Eighth Grade Students
This study seeks to create an educational game called the UNO English Game as an innovative learning tool to enhance the speaking abilities of eighth-grade students. The research adopts the Research and Development (R&D) approach, used the ADDIE model, which consists of five phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The game was created by adapting the traditional UNO card game and integrating it with English learning content focused on speaking activities such as asking and answering questions, describing, and expressing opinions. The results of the implementation show that the UNO English Game enhances students’ engagement, motivation, and confidence in speaking English. It also provides a fun and interactive learning environment that encourages students to practice speaking more actively. Based on the findings, the UNO English Game is considered an effective supplementary tool for enhancing speaking skills in junior high school English classes
The Effect of Mini Snakes and Ladders Teaching Medium to Improve Students’ Descriptive Writing Skill
This research discusses the use of non-digital teaching media in school without internet access to improve the writing skill of 7th grade junior high school students at one of the junior high schools in Sidoarjo. This study also aims to determine the effect of using the mini Snakes and Ladders as teaching media. Researchers used a quantitative research design with a pre-experimental method that used only one class without using a control class as a comparison for the experimental class. From the final research data obtained, researchers processed it using a paired sample T-test with SPSS. The pre-test and post-test findings provided the data. The results of the paired sample T-test using SPSS indicate that the pre-test and post-test differed significantly. The pre-test’s average score fell short of the 43,15 score required by the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). In the meantime, the KKM indicator was passed with an average post-test score of 78,75. It demonstrates that the score outcomes vary from one another. Compared to the pre-test, the post-test score has a higher mean. T-test results based on the paired sample test showed that the alpha (α) was 0,05 (0,000<0,05) and sig. (2-tailed) was 0.000. This means that Ha has been approved and H0 has been rejected
Depicting Anxiety in “Inside Out 2”: A Multimodal Analysis Using Kress and Leeuwen’s Three Metafunctions
This study uses Kress and van Leeuwen’s Three Metafunctions within a Multimodal Discourse Analysis (MDA) framework to examine how anxiety is constructed in the film Inside Out 2. Focusing on scenes with Riley and Anxiety, the analysis explores how meaning is created through visual and auditory modes. Incorporating Freud’s theory, the study identifies three types of anxiety (Neurotic, Moral, and Reality) and shows how these are expressed multimodally. For reliability, the data were re-analyzed over time (intra-rater) and validated by an external rater (inter-rater). Inside Out 2 effectively conveys internal emotional experiences, helping audiences grasp complex mental health concepts. For example, Riley’s neurotic anxiety is illustrated through her fearful expression, nervous dialogue, and avoidance of eye contact when meeting Val Ortiz. This highlights MDA’s value in analyzing how semiotic modes work together to communicate psychological messages. The study contributes to the framework by demonstrating how Inside Out 2 portrays different types of anxiety, aiding literature students in understanding emotions through film. Future research may explore other characters’ coping mechanisms or apply the same approach to other films for broader emotional representation analysis
Female Writings of Gynocriticism in “The Bridges of Madison County” Novel by Robert James Waller
This research examines how the novel “The Bridges of Madison County” employs the concept of Gynocriticism. Historically, men dominated literary writing. As a result of this dominance, women began to write about their experiences and voices in a culture that valued their roles as women. Because of their socially given places, women were unable to freely express themselves. Gynocriticism, a feminist method, is employed in this study to urge women to quit social circles and constraints on their own independence. Qualitative research generates descriptive data. Content analysis is used to identify data similarities, integrate them into a unified unit within subchapters, and conduct critical and evaluative assessments utilizing feminist theory by Elaine Showalter. The researcher’s results on the four models of Gynocriticism criticised in Francesca’s character are as follows: Women’s Writing and Women’s Body, Women’s Writing and Women’s Language, Women’s Writing and Women’s Psyche, and Women’s Writing and Women’s Culture. Elaine Showalter's concept is highly regarded because women engage in a wide range of difficulties in order to free themselves through women’s writing. The findings show that women may engage in introspection and overcome societal limits. These results also imply that women are free to express their desires and emotions
Analysis of Gen Z Preferences in Improving English Proficiency using Machine Learning
This study analyzes Generation Z (Gen Z) preferences in enhancing English proficiency using machine learning with the Random Forest algorithm. The analysis aims to determine how accurately Random Forest can predict or classify models. The dataset contains three classes: “Applications,” “Entertainment_Media,” and “Tutoring.” Data collected was processed during the pre-processing stage. With this dataset, the model was trained and identified the most influential features on model performance: factors, media, learning duration, understanding, and motivation. The model achieved an accuracy of 62% with hyperparameter tuning. This research aims to contribute to the development of more personalized learning methods for Gen Z

PENDIDIKAN KELUARGA DALAM PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER MANDIRI DI PANTI ASUHAN AN-NURIYYAH
Family Education in Developing Independent Character at An-Nuriyyah Orphanage. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Singaperbangsa University, Karawang. This study aims to determine how the implementation of family education in social institutions, particularly orphanages, shapes the independent character of children in orphanages. Children living in orphanages generally come from broken or less harmonious family backgrounds, thus lacking direct family education experience from their biological parents. Therefore, the role of caregivers is crucial as substitutes for families, not only responsible for caring for and protecting but also guiding and educating children in their daily lives. Family education in this context is aimed at fostering independent character, namely the child's ability to solve problems, make decisions, act consistently, and not depend on others. This study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation

This study emphasizes the importance of family education as a cultural strategy in maintaining Balinese rites amidst the challenges of global culture and multicultural life
