HIPNOTERAPI DALAM KIDUNG RUMEKSO ING WENGI SUNAN KALIJAGA (KAJIAN HERMENEUTIK SCHLEIERMACHER)
One of Sunan Kalijaga's da'wah media is Kidung Rumeksa Ing Wengi. This kidung is among the most influential and widely embraced forms of da'wah in Javanese culture. Many studies have explored da'wah messages in this kidung, but none have examined its meaning through a deeply hermeneutic lens. This study aims to holistically interpret Kidung Rumeksa Ing Wengi using Schleiermacher's hermeneutic approach and relate it to the concept of hypnotherapy. This research employs the library research method, incorporating Schleiermacher’s hermeneutic approach (grammatical and psychological interpretation), and integrates it with hypnotherapy theory in psychology. These research findings reveal that Kidung Rumeksa Ing Wengi served as a form of subconscious therapy for mad’uw (the audience of da’wah) within the Javanese kejawen community during Sunan Kalijaga's era. This subconscious psychological therapy aimed to build positive suggestions, helping the mad’uw overcome fears of disasters and mystical threats, which were often believed to be sent by opponents of Islam at the time. Through this kidung, Sunan Kalijaga sought to reinforce the belief that no calamity can befall anyone without Allah's permission.
NAQSHBANDI SPIRITUALITY AND THE DIGITAL AGE: A CONCEPTUAL RESPONSE TO SOCIAL MEDIA–RELATED MORAL CHALLENGES
This article examines how Naqshbandi Sufi principles can serve as a spiritual framework for addressing the ethical and psychological harms associated with contemporary social media culture. The study employs a conceptual and hermeneutic textual analysis, using classical Naqshbandi treatises and Qur’anic–Prophetic teachings as primary sources. These texts were thematically analyzed to extract the Eleven Naqshbandi Principles and map them to major digital harms documented in media psychology literature, such as addiction, distraction, narcissistic self-presentation, cyberbullying, and exposure to harmful content. The article proposes a theoretical model the Naqshbandi Digital Ethics Framework which integrates attention discipline, intention purification, and moral self-regulation as spiritual countermeasures to these harms. The findings contribute to Islamic communication ethics and offer practical implications for da‘wah, education, and digital literacy initiatives. The article further outlines directions for future empirical validation through educational and counseling interventions

FROM READINESS TO DESIGN: MAPPING PRE-SERVICE CHEMISTRY TEACHER’S INCLUSIVE COMPETENCIES WITH CHARLOTTE DANIELSON’S FRAMEWORK
This study examines the inclusive teaching readiness of pre-service chemistry teachers using Charlotte Danielson’s Framework for Teaching (FfT) as an analytic lens and as an entry point to Educational Design Research (EDR). Fifty participants from six Indonesian state universities were surveyed with a 22-indicator Likert instrument adapted from the FfT. The instrument showed good internal consistency (α = .87). Descriptive statistics and non-parametric tests were used to compare domains and explore variance. Results indicate high competencies in Planning & Preparation, Classroom Environment, and Instruction, while Professional Responsibility shows comparatively lower means and greater dispersion. Weakest indicators include adaptive assessment, inclusive/multimodal communication, and professionalism, suggesting both curricular gaps and unequal access to clinical experiences. Potential ceiling effects in planning signal the need for more sensitive, authentic indicators (e.g., project-based assessment across representations). We translate these findings into EDR design principles prioritizing (1) adaptive assessment, (2) multimodal communication, (3) mentoring and professional learning communities, and (4) accessibility audits for laboratory spaces. The study formulates EDR design principles emphasizing adaptive assessment, multimodal strategies, mentoring networks, and accessibility audits. Overall, this research operationalizes the Charlotte Danielson’s FfT in inclusive chemistry education, linking empirical measurement to practical design solutions and offering implications for curriculum reform and iterative EDR-based model development
Religious Moderation and Religious Traditions in Post-Death Grief in Munggu Village, Central Bangka Regency
In Indonesia, a tolerant attitude towards local culture can give birth to an inclusive and tolerant religious attitude, creating a peaceful and dynamic atmosphere of spiritual life. On the other hand, religion must exist, penetrate, and spread to influence the cultural appearance of society, without eliminating its cultural identity. In this way, religion and local culture are interrelated and complement each other; this is reflected in religious wisdom and cultural attitudes that are developed based on religion. This research uses field research, namely observations or observations involving researchers in the field. The data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation, with the research subjects being the local community who carry out post-death care. Reading Strategy Patterns in Secondary School Learners: Gender and Cultural Familiarity in Multicultural Texts
Understanding how learners use reading strategies across culturally familiar and unfamiliar texts is vital for effective literacy instruction, yet gender-related patterns in this context remain underexplored. This study examined gender differences in reading strategy use among 200 senior secondary English as a Second Language (ESL) learners in Manzini, Eswatini. Using a within-subjects quasi-experimental design, participants (114 female, 86 male) read two narrative–descriptive passages differing in cultural familiarity in a counterbalanced order, two weeks apart, and completed the Survey of Reading Strategies (SORS). The passages were matched for length and readability, and the SORS demonstrated excellent internal consistency (αoverall = .94; subscales α = .92–.88). Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, paired-samples t-tests, Welch’s t-tests, Pearson correlations, and effect-size estimates (Cohen’s d). Results showed that girls reported significantly higher use of global and total strategies than boys (Global: t(≈198) = −2.56, p = .011, d = .31; Total: t(≈198) = −2.29, p = .023, d = .32), while no significant gender differences appeared for support or problem-solving strategies. Text familiarity did not significantly affect strategy use (paired tests p > .24), and inter-strategy correlations were minimal (average r ≈ −0.001 to −0.005), indicating largely independent deployment. The findings reveal subtle gendered tendencies and a limited effect of cultural familiarity, underscoring that learners’ strategy orchestration cannot be assumed. Implications call for culturally responsive and gender-sensitive literacy instruction that explicitly scaffolds metacognitive awareness and strategy integration in ESL classrooms
Disability-Friendly Campus: Assessing Infrastructure, Support, and Campus Community Perceptions
This study examines issues related to disability-friendly (OKU) facilities in Malaysian higher education institutions (HEIs) by assessing the level of infrastructure readiness, social support, and campus community acceptance of students with disabilities. Despite various initiatives implemented by the government and HEIs to enhance inclusive educational access, students with disabilities continue to face challenges concerning infrastructure, learning accessibility, and societal perceptions. Key issues identified include inadequate physical facilities such as elevators, barrier-free pathways, accessible transportation, and specialised learning equipment. Additionally, social challenges such as stigma, limited awareness, and constraints in support services negatively impact the learning experiences of OKU students. The objectives of this study are to examine the support and barriers encountered by OKU students in HEIs, identify campus community perceptions toward these students, and evaluate the effectiveness of disability-friendly facilities provided. This study employs a qualitative-descriptive design through content analysis of 10 relevant scholarly articles, including prior studies that utilised interviews, surveys, and document analysis. Data was collected through systematic searches using keywords such as OKU, campus accessibility, and inclusive higher education. The findings indicate that although peers generally demonstrate positive attitudes and contribute to strong social support, physical facilities in HEIs still do not fully comply with accessibility standards. Incomplete and non-inclusive infrastructure remains a major barrier to mobility, learning, and academic performance among OKU students. The study underscores the importance of adhering to accessibility standards and providing comprehensive academic and social support to ensure a fair and inclusive educational experience for all students
Representations of Contemporary Yogyakarta in YouTube Short Films Produced by Yogyakarta Youth: A Stylistic and Cultural Study
This study aims to explore how contemporary Yogyakarta is represented through short films produced by young Yogyakarta filmmakers and distributed via YouTube. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with stylistic and cultural analysis frameworks, this research examines three short films—Senja di Malioboro (2021), Kopi dan Jalan Pulang (2022), and Di Antara Hujan dan Kenangan
(2023)—selected based on thematic relevance, local authenticity, and digital visibility. The analysis focuses on visual, narrative, and musical aspects, interpreted through theories of representation, cultural hybridity , and the production of space. Findings reveal that YouTube short films created by young Yogyakarta filmmakers represent the city as a hybrid cultural space where tradition and modernity intersect. Yogyakarta is portrayed not merely as a romantic cultural symbol but as a living urban environment shaped by digital creativity and youth expression. Stylistically, the films exhibit poetic-naturalistic aesthetics, warm color palettes, and hybrid soundscapes that evoke reflective and nostalgic moods. These stylistic choices signify a shift in local representation, illustrating how cultural identity is continuously negotiated within digital media practices. This research contributes to Indonesian film and cultural studies by demonstrating that digital short films function as expressive platforms for articulating identity and preserving local values amid the dynamics of global cultural transformation.

Negotiating the Sacred and the Profane: Paradigm Shifts in the Tarekat Shiddiqiyah toward Economic Empowerment in Jombang, Indonesia
This study explores the shift in the spirituality of the Shiddiqiyah Order towards an economic empowerment paradigm in order to address modern Islamic issues. The Order is claimed to be a reflection of the decline of Islam because it only emphasizes spirituality, while neglecting worldly affairs. The order focuses only on religious and mystical rituals. They are passive towards social problems and changes. Therefore, this study reflects the spirituality of the Shiddiqiyah Order, which makes community empowerment a means to achieve perfection before God. This effort is referred to as a shift to negotiate the concept of ijtihad in the order. This is a qualitative study, with primary data taken from interviews with members of the Shiddiqiyah Order and several mursyids. The data was then analyzed using triangulation involving authentic sources. The findings show that the metaphysical shift to the profane realm (community empowerment) is a spiritual step towards achieving peace in worshiping God. This shift is based on three basic concepts of ijtihad, namely qiyas, istihsan, and istislah, which state that the existence of the order is to provide social peace through spirituality. This process is then called the negotiation of the spirituality of the order
