Po POLITIK ISLAM DAN ISLAMISASI DI LAMPUNG: JEJAK KESULTANAN BANTEN DALAM STRUKTUR SOSIAL DAN KEAGAMAAN
This research examines the political role of the Banten Sultanate in the Islamisation process in Lampung and its impact on the social and religious structure of the local community. Islamisation in Lampung did not only occur through da'wah, but also through political and economic channels, especially through the pepper trade that established a close relationship between Lampung and Banten. The Sultanate of Banten played a strategic role in strengthening the teachings of Islam by sending ulama, building mosques, and influencing the legal system and local leadership. This research uses the library research method by analysing historical sources, academic journals, and relevant documents.
The results show that the Islamic politics of the Banten Sultanate contributed to integrating Islam into Lampung's social and customary systems. The customary leadership structure underwent modification with the increasing role of ulama in decision-making, as well as the integration of Islamic law in customary norms. Islamisation also occurred through cultural acculturation, where local traditions began to be adapted to Islamic values. Islamisation in Lampung is thus not only a religious process, but also a political phenomenon that shapes the social identity of the community to this day.Penelitian ini mengkaji peran politik Kesultanan Banten dalam proses Islamisasi di Lampung serta dampaknya terhadap struktur sosial dan keagamaan masyarakat setempat. Islamisasi di Lampung tidak hanya terjadi melalui jalur dakwah, tetapi juga melalui jalur politik dan ekonomi, terutama melalui perdagangan lada yang menjalin hubungan erat antara Lampung dan Banten. Kesultanan Banten memainkan peran strategis dalam memperkuat ajaran Islam dengan mengirim ulama, membangun masjid, serta mempengaruhi sistem hukum dan kepemimpinan lokal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kepustakaan (library research) dengan menganalisis sumber-sumber sejarah, jurnal akademik, dan dokumen yang relevan.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa politik Islam Kesultanan Banten berkontribusi dalam mengintegrasikan Islam ke dalam sistem sosial dan adat Lampung. Struktur kepemimpinan adat mengalami modifikasi dengan meningkatnya peran ulama dalam pengambilan keputusan, serta integrasi hukum Islam dalam norma adat. Islamisasi juga terjadi melalui akulturasi budaya, di mana tradisi-tradisi lokal mulai disesuaikan dengan nilai-nilai Islam. Dengan demikian, Islamisasi di Lampung bukan hanya proses keagamaan, tetapi juga fenomena politik yang membentuk identitas sosial masyarakat hingga saat ini
H.O.S. Cokroaminoto dan Transformasi Nasionalisme Islam pada Era Kolonial
The rise of Indonesian nationalism in the early 20th century is closely related to the role of Sarekat Islam (SI) which developed from an economic organization to a people's political movement. H.O.S. Tjokroaminoto's thinking integrates Islamic values with modern ideas such as social justice and zelfbestuur, arousing cross-class national consciousness. This study uses historical methods (heuristic, criticism, interpretation, historiography) to examine primary documents such as congress archives and Tjokro's speeches as well as scientific literature. Previous studies have rarely highlighted the SI's political strategy in building inclusive nationalism. This research shows that SI is able to transform people's economic awareness into political movements through political education, organizational consolidation, and regeneration. The results of the study affirmed SI as a milestone of national awakening that united the people against colonialism. This finding has implications for the importance of understanding the history of SI and Tjokroaminoto's thoughts as an inspiration to strengthen political education and nationalism based on social justice in today's IndonesiaKebangkitan nasionalisme Indonesia awal abad ke-20 erat kaitannya dengan peran Sarekat Islam (SI) yang berkembang dari organisasi ekonomi menjadi gerakan politik rakyat. Pemikiran H.O.S. Tjokroaminoto mengintegrasikan nilai Islam dengan gagasan modern seperti keadilan sosial dan zelfbestuur, membangkitkan kesadaran nasional lintas kelas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah (heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, historiografi) untuk mengkaji dokumen primer seperti arsip kongres dan pidato Tjokro serta literatur ilmiah. Studi sebelumnya jarang menyoroti strategi politik SI dalam membangun nasionalisme inklusif. Penelitian ini menunjukkan SI mampu mentransformasikan kesadaran ekonomi rakyat menjadi gerakan politik melalui pendidikan politik, konsolidasi organisasi, dan kaderisasi. Hasil penelitian menegaskan SI sebagai tonggak kebangkitan nasional yang menyatukan rakyat melawan kolonialisme. Temuan ini berimplikasi pada pentingnya pemahaman sejarah SI dan pemikiran Tjokroaminoto sebagai inspirasi memperkuat pendidikan politik dan nasionalisme berbasis keadilan sosial di Indonesia masa kini
Nilai-Nilai Pendidikan Karakter Sosial perspektif Al-Qur’an dan Urgensinya dalam Masyarakat Multikultural
The values of social character education in the Qur'an are the principles, norms, and goodness towards social character in social interactions that are understood through the explanation of the verses of the Qur'an. This article is motivated by the existence of deviations in the socio-cultural environment of a multicultural society which of course causes discomfort. This article focuses on the analysis of the values of social character education from the perspective of the Qur'an and its urgency in a multicultural society. This article uses a library research approach with primary data sources in the form of interpretations or opinions of scholars regarding verses on the values of social character education. In addition, secondary data in the form of books, journals and other literature that specifically discuss the values of social character education from the perspective of the Qur'an and its urgency in a multicultural society. Data analysis in this study uses content analysis steps that adopt Krippendorff's idea consisting of sample unitization, categorization, data reduction, conclusions and justification of research data in the form of verses on the values of social character education. This article shows that 13 values of social character education come from the verses of the Qur'an. These values are important in promoting peace and harmony within the identity of a multicultural society.The values of social character education in the Al-Qur'an are principles, norms, and kindness towards social characters in community interactions which are understood through explanations of the verses of the Al-Qur'an. Data analysis in this article adopts the steps of Miles, Huberman and Saldana (2014) which consist of condensing data, presenting data and concluding. This article shows that 13 social character education values originate from the verses of the Koran. These values are important in promoting peace and harmony in the identities of a multicultural society.

Analyzing the Concept of Basyar as Human: A Semantic Study of The Qur’an
This study investigates the semantic implications of the term basyar as it pertains to the concept of humanity in the Qur’anic discourse. The research arises from the observation that the Qur’an employs a range of lexical choices to denote human beings, including nās, al-insān, basyar, banī ādam, al-insu, and al-marʾu, each carrying distinct contextual and conceptual connotations. The diversity of these terms reflects the Qur’an’s nuanced portrayal of human nature across different dimensions and circumstances. Focusing specifically on basyar, this study aims to delineate the unique aspects embedded within this term and how it informs the Islamic understanding of human identity. Methodologically, this is a qualitative literature-based study employing documentary analysis of primary sources such as the Qur’an and classical tafsīr works, including Tafsīr al-Qur’ān al-‘Aẓīm by Ibn Kathīr, Tafsīr al-Marāghī by Ahmad bin Musthafa al-Marāghī, Mafātīḥ al-Ghayb by Fakhruddīn al-Rāzī, and Rūḥ al-Maʿānī by Shihābuddīn al-Ālūsī, among others. The findings suggest that while the concept of basyar aligns closely with the general notion of humanity, it conveys an elevated understanding marked by specific virtues. The study identifies five defining characteristics of human beings within the basyar framework: (1) prophethood as a human function, (2) creation from earthly elements, (3) the cognitive and existential dimension of basyariah, (4) the social interaction between genders, and (5) the inevitability of death as part of divine ordinance.Artikel ini membahas tentang makna kata basyar dalam pengertian manusia dalam Al-Quran. Penelitian ini berangkat dari persoalan berbagai diksi (kata) yang digunakan dalam Al-Quran untuk menyebut manusia. Beberapa di antaranya adalah nÄs, al-insÄn, basyar, banÄ« Ädam, al-insu, dan al-mar`u. Ragam diksi yang disajikan dimaksudkan untuk memudahkan kita memahami manusia dalam berbagai jenis dan konteksnya. Penulis akan membahas manusia dalam konsep basyar untuk mendapatkan gambaran spesifik tentang konteks manusia seperti apa yang dimaksud. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik dokumentasi dari Al-Quran dan dokumen-dokumen seperti buku-buku, artikel penelitian, dan publikasi lainnya. Penelitian ini mengambil data primer dari Al-Quran dan kitab-kitab tafsir, antara lain Tafsir Al-Quran al-'Aá¸him karya Ibnu Katsir, Tafsir Al-Maraghi karya Ahmad bin Musthafa Al-Maraghi, Tafsir MafÄtiḥu al-Ghaib karya Fakhruddin Ar-Razi, Tafsir Ruḥ al-ma'Äniy karya Shihabuddin as-Sayyid Mahmud Affandi Al-Alusi dan kitab-kitab tafsir lainnya. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa manusia dalam konsep basyar tidak jauh berbeda dengan manusia pada umumnya, hanya saja terdapat keutamaan-keutamaan yang menjadikan konsep ini lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan konsep-konsep manusia lainnya. Penelitian ini juga merumuskan beberapa ciri-ciri manusia dalam konsep basyar, antara lain: 1) Kenabian (akhlak yang mulia), 2) penciptaan manusia dari tanah (unsur-unsur jasmani), 3) hakikat bashariah (berpikir), 4) persinggungan laki-laki dan perempuan (hubungan sosial), dan 5) kematian (takdir Tuhan
The Tension between Cultural Heritage and Individual Freedom: The JiLu Marriage Tradition among the Indigenous Javanese Community in Blembem, Ponorogo
This study investigates the persistence of JiLu, a Javanese customary prohibition against marriage between the first and third-born children of different families, as practised in Blembem Village, Ponorogo. Although JiLu lacks a formal legal or religious foundation, it continues to function as a binding social norm upheld through oral tradition, communal belief systems, and social sanctions. Employing a socio-legal approach, the research integrates qualitative data from in-depth interviews with traditional elders, affected couples, and local stakeholders, alongside a review of relevant literature. Berger and Luckmann’s theory of social construction—comprising the processes of externalization, objectification, and internalization—provides the theoretical framework to analyze how JiLu is maintained and reproduced. The findings reveal that JiLu operates as a symbolic system that regulates social behaviour, particularly in marital decisions, through emotional reinforcement and the fear of spiritual or social consequences. However, the norm’s authority is increasingly questioned by younger generations exposed to formal education, religious reinterpretation, and modern legal rationality. This generational shift highlights a growing tension between the preservation of collective cultural identity and the assertion of personal autonomy. The study demonstrates how customary norms can either adapt or erode when confronted with changing societal values, contributing to broader discussions on the dynamics of tradition, law, and individual rights in contemporary rural Indonesia.Penelitian ini mengulas tradisi larangan pernikahan JiLu di Dusun Tembol, Desa Blembem, Ponorogo, yang dianggap membawa dampak buruk bagi pelanggarnya. Tradisi ini dipertahankan melalui mekanisme konstruksi sosial yang melibatkan tahapan eksternalisasi, objektivasi, dan internalisasi, sebagaimana dijelaskan oleh Berger dan Luckmann. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif berbasis studi kasus, dengan data yang diperoleh dari wawancara mendalam dengan tokoh masyarakat dan pasangan yang terdampak larangan ini, serta melalui kajian literatur terkait. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tradisi JiLu dalam konteks teori hukum kritis Roberto Unger, yang menekankan pentingnya kebebasan individu dan perlunya evaluasi terhadap norma tradisional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun tradisi ini tetap dihormati oleh generasi tua sebagai bagian dari identitas budaya, generasi muda mulai mempertanyakan relevansinya dalam era modern yang menekankan otonomi individu. Tradisi JiLu, meskipun berfungsi menjaga struktur sosial, dinilai membutuhkan penyesuaian agar selaras dengan nilai keadilan dan kebebasan pribadi. Unger menyoroti bahwa tradisi harus bersifat dinamis dan tidak boleh menjadi penghalang dalam pengambilan keputusan individu, terutama dalam memilih pasangan hidup. Pergeseran pandangan ini mencerminkan kebutuhan akan keseimbangan antara pelestarian tradisi dan pengakuan hak-hak individu, sehingga norma seperti JiLu tetap relevan dalam masyarakat yang terus berkembang
Maqashid Syariah dan Fatwa MUI: Dampak Prohibisi Salam Antaragama terhadap Keseimbangan Keluarga dan Keharmonisan Multireligius: Maqasid al-Shariah and its Implications for Multicultural Families in Indonesia
The fatwa issued by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) on the prohibition of interfaith greetings by Muslims has triggered significant discourse in the context of Indonesia's religiously and culturally plural society. This research aims to analyze the theological basis of the fatwa and its socio-cultural implications, especially in the context of multicultural families, through the maqasid syariah approach. Using a qualitative method based on content analysis, this research examines fatwa documents and related literature that discuss Islamic legal theory and interfaith social dynamics. The results show a tension between the principle of hifz al-din (protection of religion) and the goals of adl (justice) and maslahah (public welfare), especially since the implementation of this fatwa has the potential to cause emotional tension, social fragmentation, and decreased cohesion in interfaith families and communities. This study confirms that a normative and rigid theological approach, if it does not consider socio-cultural realities, can hinder efforts to build interfaith harmony. Therefore, a contextual and dialogical approach is needed in the stipulation of fatwas so that they are in line with the lived experience of Muslims in pluralistic societies. These findings provide conceptual and practical contributions to the development of Islamic fiqh that is more inclusive and adaptive to social diversity in Indonesia.Abstrak: Fatwa Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) yang melarang umat Islam untuk mengucapkan salam antaragama telah memicu perdebatan di masyarakat Indonesia yang dikenal dengan keragaman agama dan budayanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis fatwa MUI dari perspektif Maqashid Syariah, dengan fokus pada dampaknya terhadap dinamika hubungan keluarga dalam konteks keberagaman agama dan tantangan dalam menciptakan keharmonisan antarumat beragama. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis konten terhadap teks fatwa MUI serta literatur terkait Maqashid Syariah dan hukum keluarga Islam. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi dokumentasi terhadap teks fatwa, buku, artikel, dan publikasi akademik. Teknik analisis data meliputi identifikasi tema utama dalam fatwa MUI, perbandingan dengan prinsip-prinsip Maqashid Syariah, serta evaluasi dampaknya terhadap hubungan keluarga dan keharmonisan sosial. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa fatwa ini bertujuan untuk mempertahankan identitas Islam dan melindungi agama, tetapi juga berpotensi menyebabkan ketidakadilan dalam hubungan keluarga multikultural dan merusak hubungan antaragama. Penelitian ini menekankan perlunya dialog inklusif antara cendekiawan, akademisi, dan pemangku kepentingan untuk menemukan solusi yang mendukung keadilan agama dan kepentingan publik dalam masyarakat multikultural. Disarankan agar pendekatan yang lebih toleran dan inklusif diterapkan untuk mencapai keharmonisan antaragama di Indonesia
Pemikiran Fiqh al-Shafi'i: Telaah Atas Transformasi Qaul Qadim dan Qaul jadid
This study aims to analyze the fiqh thought of Imam al-Shafi'i with a focus on the transformation between the Qaul Qadim (old opinion) and the Qaul Jadid (new opinion). This study explores the factors behind the change in Imam al-Shafi'i's views and their implications for the development of ushul fiqh. The method used is library research with a descriptive-analytical approach. The main sources of research include the works of Imam al-Shafi'i, such as Al-Risalah and Al-Umm, as well as academic studies that discuss changes in his legal methodology. The results of the study show that the transition from Qaul Qadim to Qaul Jadid was due to geographical factors, intellectual experience, and interaction with other schools of thought. This transformation reflects the flexibility of fiqh in responding to different contexts. This study emphasizes that al-Shafi'i's thinking remains relevant in the development of contextual Islamic law
Kharaj dan Agraria: Studi Komparasi Sistem Kharaj Masa Awal lslam dan Agraria di Indonesia
This study aims to compare the kharaj system in early Islamic times with the agrarian system in Indonesia to understand the similarities and differences in land management and agricultural taxes. The method used is juridical-historical research with a comparative approach through a literature study of classical Islamic sources and agrarian regulations in Indonesia. The results of the study show that kharaj is a land tax system applied in early Islamic rule to regulate land ownership and utilization, while the Indonesian agrarian system is based on the concept of customary rights and modern regulations such as the Basic Agrarian Law (UUPA). Although it has the principle of fairness in land distribution, the kharaj system is more oriented towards state revenue, while Indonesian agrarian law emphasizes the welfare of the people. This study recommends integrating the principle of kharaj justice into modern agrarian policy
Kontribusi Umer Chapra Dalam Membangun Sistem Ekonomi Islam
This study aims to analyze Umer Chapra's contribution to building an Islamic economic system and its relevance to the development of contemporary Islamic economics. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive-analytical approach through a literature study of Chapra's works and the Islamic economic concepts he developed. The results show that Chapra emphasizes the integration of sharia principles and modern economic theory to create an equitable economic system. He criticized the weaknesses of the capitalist and socialist systems and offered an Islamic economic concept based on the maqāṣid al-sharī'ah, which prioritizes social welfare, fair distribution of wealth, and economic stability. His ideas became the basis for the development of Islamic economic policies in various countries. This study confirms that Chapra's theory has strong relevance in building a more inclusive and sustainable economic system
Marjinalisasi Perempuan di Wilayah Politik
This study aims to analyze the marginalization of women in the political sphere and the factors that influence it. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive-analytical approach, through a literature review and data analysis regarding the representation of women in politics. The results show that the limitations of women in politics are caused by structural factors, patriarchal culture, and policies that do not support women's participation. In addition, gender stereotypes and lack of access to political resources also reinforce this marginalization. Although various affirmative policies have been implemented, their implementation still faces various obstacles. This study emphasizes the need for more effective strategies in increasing the role of women in politics, both through political education, capacity building, and more inclusive policies. Thus, more equal participation of women in politics can be realized in a sustainable manner
