ENTRE SANTOS E “PEDRINHAS REVELADORAS”: DIVERSAS MATRIZES RELIGIOSAS E COSMOPERCEPÇÕES NA PROCISSÃO DO ENCONTRO EM SILVÂNIA, GOIÁS
No full textAn investigation into the dynamics of cultural-identity contexts, dualisms and cosmoperceptions present in a Catholic religious expression in southwestern Goiás, the Procession of the Encounter of Silvânia-Go. A dialectical and dialogic analysis of the meanings (and the strangeness) of the ‘pebbles’, taken from the ground during the Procession, which have the power to reveal the future life and open symbolic-imaginary worlds. A feminist decolonial approach that considers border zones, ‘in-between places’, conflicts, new knowledge and the pluriversality between distinct cultures and religious matrices. The hypothesis is that ‘the pebbles’, of intra-worldly cosmoperception, would be a remnant of expressions that survived the process of historical-cultural-religious silencing carried out on elements of African/Amerindian religious matrices. The theoretical-methodological basis interconnects the categories of identities, the imaginary and the anthropology of religion, presenting the possibility of breaking with the conception of a single universe of knowledge and the defense of the multiplicity of knowledge.Uma investigação sobre a dinâmica de contextos culturais-identitários, dualismos e cosmopercepções presentes em uma expressão religiosa católica, no sudoeste goiano, a Procissão do Encontro de Silvânia-Go. Uma análise dialética e dialogal sobre os significados (e o estranhamento) das ‘pedrinhas’, retiradas do chão, durante a Procissão, que possuem o poder de revelar a vida futura e abrir mundos simbólico-imaginários. Uma abordagem decolonial feminista que considera zonas de fronteiras, ‘entre-lugares’, conflitos, novos saberes e a pluriversalidade entre culturas e matrizes religiosas distintas. A hipótese é que ‘as pedrinhas’, de cosmopercepção intramundana, seriam um resquício de expressões que sobreviveram ao processo de silenciamento histórico-cultural-religioso realizado sobre elementos de matrizes religiosas africanas/ameríndias. A base teórica-metodológica interconecta as categorias das identidades, do imaginário e da antropologia da religião, apresentando a possibilidade de romper com a concepção de um único universo de conhecimento e a defesa da multiplicidade de saberes
EDUCAÇÃO NA TRADUÇÃO DO LIVRO DE ECLESIASTES DE DAMIÃO DE GÓIS (1502-1574)
No full textThe objective of this study is to analyze the educational aspects present in the translation of the Book of Ecclesiastes by the Portuguese humanist Damião de Góis, published in 1538. Góis's work, in addition to his diplomatic activities, reveals his commitment to translating and disseminating biblical texts, contributing to education within the context of Humanism. The research method is based on the theoretical principles of the Science of History, with a focus on discussions in the History of Education. The approach adopted is documentary and bibliographic, developing a critical analysis of Góis's translation and the possible educational notes present in the work. As a result, the study highlights the educational value of the translation of the Book of Ecclesiastes, considering both the choice of text and the translator's disciplines. The research emphasizes the importance of the work in the historical context of Humanism, pointing to it as a relevant source for future investigations into Portuguese humanism of the 16th century.O objetivo deste estudo é analisar a questão educativa presente na tradução do Livro de Eclesiastes realizada pelo humanista português Damião de Góis, publicada em 1538. O trabalho de Góis, além de sua atuação diplomática, revela seu compromisso em traduzir e divulgar textos bíblicos no contexto do Humanismo. O método utilizado na pesquisa se apoia na Ciência da História, com foco nas discussões da História da Educação. A abordagem adotada é documental e bibliográfica e desenvolve uma análise crítica da tradução de Góis e das notas educativas presentes na obra. Como resultado, o estudo evidencia o valor educativo da tradução do Livro de Eclesiastes e considera tanto a escolha do texto como as disciplinas do tradutor. A pesquisa destaca a importância da obra no contexto histórico do Humanismo apontando-a como uma fonte relevante para investigações futuras sobre o humanismo português do século XVI

No full textPastoral counseling faces a pastoral difficulty, namely, that of explaining the plausibility of religious and spiritual experience and the union of the soul with God to people whose worldview was forged from the techno-scientific paradigm. This worldview makes it difficult to practice faith, an understanding of the human person that integrates immanence and transcendence, and the perspective of the meaning of life that includes the issues of suffering and death. In psychological and pastoral terms, the integration of suffering and mourning and personal development can be achieved by cultivating and experiencing spirituality in its entirety, in the mystical, personal and community encounter with Christ, in ordinary life. This article aims to explain some of the causes of the difficulty people, especially young people, have in dealing with suffering and mourning, and to reflect on how pastoral counseling can be a locus that favors the integral development of the human person.O aconselhamento pastoral defronta-se com uma dificuldade pastoral, qual seja, a de explicitar a plausibilidade da experiência religiosa e espiritual e da união da alma com Deus para pessoas cuja cosmovisão foi forjada a partir do paradigma tecnocientífico. Esta cosmovisão dificulta a prática da fé, uma compreensão de pessoa humana que integre imanência e transcendência e a perspectiva do sentido da vida que inclui as questões do sofrimento e da morte. Em termos psicológicos e pastorais, a integração do sofrimento e do luto e o desenvolvimento pessoal podem ser alcançados pelo cultivo e pela vivência da espiritualidade em sua integralidade, no encontro místico, pessoal e comunitário, com Cristo, na vida ordinária. O presente artigo tem como objetivo explanar algumas das causas acerca da dificuldade das pessoas, especialmente de jovens, para lidar com o sofrimento e o luto, e refletir sobre como o aconselhamento pastoral pode ser um locus que favoreça o desenvolvimento integral da pessoa humana
DEUTERO-ISAÍAS E OS CAMINHOS PARA UMA ECOTEOLOGIA INTEGRAL
No full textThe ecological crisis, marked by climate change, biodiversity loss, and ecosystem degradation, demands a rethinking of humanity's ethical and spiritual relationship with creation. Ecotheology offers an interdisciplinary approach that integrates theology, spirituality, and environmental sciences to advocate for justice and reconciliation with the Earth. While biblical texts have been widely explored, Deutero-Isaiah’s (Is 40–55) potential contribution to ecotheology remains underexamined. This study addresses this gap by exploring Deutero-Isaiah’s vision of a Creator and Redeemer God who not only liberates an oppressed people but also renews creation. Emerging from the despair of the Babylonian exile, the prophet’s cosmic vision of hope and restoration resonates today, illuminating connections between spirituality, environmental justice, and human dignity. By situating Deutero-Isaiah within ecotheology, this article proposes ethical and spiritual pathways for addressing ecological crises, integrating care for creation with justice in alignment with the vision of integral ecology.A crise ecológica, marcada por mudanças climáticas, perda de biodiversidade e degradação dos ecossistemas, exige uma reavaliação da relação ética e espiritual da humanidade com a criação. A ecoteologia oferece uma abordagem interdisciplinar que integra teologia, espiritualidade e ciências ambientais para promover justiça e reconciliação com a Terra. Embora os textos bíblicos tenham sido amplamente explorados, a potencial contribuição do Deutero-Isaías (Is 40-55) para a ecoteologia permanece pouco examinada. Este estudo aborda essa lacuna ao explorar a visão do Deutero-Isaías de um Deus Criador e Redentor, que não apenas liberta um povo oprimido, mas também renova a criação. Emergindo do desespero do exílio babilônico, a visão cósmica de esperança e restauração do profeta ressoa nos dias de hoje, iluminando conexões entre espiritualidade, justiça ambiental e dignidade humana. Ao situar o Deutero-Isaías no contexto da ecoteologia, este artigo propõe caminhos éticos e espirituais para enfrentar as crises ecológicas, integrando cuidado com a criação e justiça em alinhamento com a visão de ecologia integral.
 
ENTRE A SAPIÊNCIA E O CONHECIMENTO FORMAL: UMA RELEITURA DA MODA DE VIOLA “O DOUTOR E O CAIPIRA”
No full textThis article investigates the intersection between empirical and academic knowledge in the rural context, exemplified by the song “The Doctor and the Hick”. The aim is to analyze how the song portrays the exchange of knowledge between the scholar and practical wisdom, while also preserving traditions in the contemporary context. The methodology involves textual and contextual analysis of the song, along with a literature review on empirical and academic knowledge. Interpretation from an anthropological perspective aid in understanding how caipira identity and culture are shaped by social practices and territory. Religiosity reflects the influence of spiritual beliefs on the valorization of traditions and resistance to cultural transformations. The results point to the mutual valorization of practical and academic knowledge, along with the resilience of hick identity. The song highlights how empirical and academic knowledge coexist and complement each other, emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural traditions.O presente artigo investiga a intersecção entre conhecimentos empíricos e acadêmicos no cenário rural, exemplificada pela canção “O Doutor e o Caipira”. O objetivo é analisar como a música retrata a troca de saberes entre o erudito e o saber prático, além de preservar as tradições no contexto atual. A metodologia envolve a análise textual e contextual da canção, juntamente com a revisão da literatura sobre conhecimentos empíricos e acadêmicos. A interpretação sob a perspectiva da antropologia facilita a compreensão de como a identidade e a cultura caipira são moldadas pelas práticas sociais e pelo território. A religiosidade reflete a influência das crenças espirituais na valorização das tradições e na resistência às transformações culturais. Os resultados apontam para a valorização recíproca entre conhecimento prático e acadêmico, além da resistência da identidade caipira. EX-VOTOS, OBJETOS, RELÍQUIAS E SOUVENIRS: A MATERIALIDADE EM TORNO DA BEATA PORTUGUESA ALEXANDRINA DE BALASAR
No full textThis study aims to examine the material culture surrounding Beata Alexandrina Maria da Costa (1904-1955), known as the "Santinha de Balasar," who was born in a small parish in the north of Portugal. The research hypothesis is that, within the context of devotional Catholicism, the sacred expressed in objects such as relics, ex-votos, souvenirs, and others is a significant factor in the formation of the devotional community surrounding Alexandrina and in the aura of mythical holiness that elevates a saint to the altars. The methodology employed was a qualitative approach, comprising field research at the Balasar Sanctuary, interviews, the collection of primary sources, and a partial review of academic-scientific literature. In addition to presenting the Santinha de Balasar and her trajectory, the text addresses significant discussions about ex-votos and the religious market, with particular emphasis on the production of relics and souvenirs related to the Beata.O presente estudo visa abordar a materialidade em torno da Beata Alexandrina Maria da Costa (1904-1955), conhecida como a “Santinha de Balasar”, nascida em uma pequena freguesia situada ao norte de Portugal. A hipótese da investigação é que, no âmbito do catolicismo devocional, o sagrado expresso nos objetos, como relíquias, ex-votos, souvenirs, dentre outros, constitui um dos principais componentes, para a formação da comunidade devocional em torno de Alexandrina e para a aura de santidade mítica que eleva um santo ou uma santa aos altares. Como metodologia adotamos uma abordagem qualitativa, realizando pesquisa de campo no Santuário de Balasar, entrevistas, captação de fontes primárias, e uma revisão parcial da literatura acadêmica-científica. No full textThe dossier "The Traditions Originating from Sacred Texts and Their Formation" proposes a deep reflection on the historical, cultural, and literary processes that shaped sacred texts over time, and how these processes continue to influence their interpretation and application in contemporary contexts. In this sense, the articles presented directly engage with the theme of the dossier, exploring topics such as oral transmission, literary sedimentation, translation, and cultural reinterpretations of these texts. Each study contributes to a broader understanding of how sacred traditions emerged and consolidated in various cultures and eras, with particular emphasis on the role of female voices, as seen in the case of the daughters of Zelophehad, the influence of the Greek language in the Septuagint, and the theological re-meanings present in traditions such as the Dead Sea Scrolls and early Christianity. By combining historical, literary, and hermeneutic approaches, the dossier provides a comprehensive and diverse view of the formation of sacred texts, highlighting their ongoing relevance in contemporary discussions on identity, gender, culture, and spirituality.O dossiê “As tradições originárias dos textos sagrados e sua formação” propõe uma reflexão profunda sobre os processos históricos, culturais e literários que moldaram os textos sagrados ao longo do tempo, e como esses processos continuam a influenciar sua interpretação e aplicação em contextos contemporâneos. Nesse sentido, os artigos apresentados dialogam diretamente com a proposta do dossiê, ao explorarem temas como a transmissão oral, a sedimentação literária, a tradução e as releituras culturais desses textos. No full textIt is a great joy to have your presence in this opportunity to exchange thoughts on the religious phenomenon in the context of Latin America. We likely share much more than we usually assume, as the transformations in Latin American social reality —especially when considering changes in ecclesial terms — always present specific nuances in each country but also a strong interweaving of relationships and, in many aspects, an expression that could be considered common. In this sense, I hope that this exchange helps us better understand the current reality in Uruguay and also allows you to engage with some of the main aspects of Brazilian reflections on the subject. More than that, may we gradually build a comprehensive mosaic of religion in Latin America.Es motivo de gran alegría contar con su presencia en esta oportunidad de intercambiar pensamientos sobre el fenómeno religioso en el contexto de América Latina. Posiblemente compartimos mucho más de lo que normalmente suponemos, ya que las transformaciones en la realidad social latinoamericana —especialmente al pensar en los cambios en términos eclesiales— presentan siempre matices específicos en cada país, pero también un fuerte entrelazamiento de relaciones y, en muchos puntos, una expresión que podría considerarse común. En ese sentido, espero que este intercambio nos ayude a comprender un poco más sobre la realidad actual en Uruguay y que también le permita tomar contacto con algunos de los principales aspectos de la reflexión brasileña sobre el tema. Más que eso, que podamos, poco a poco, construir un mosaico comprensivo de la religión en América Latina.É motivo de grande alegria contar com sua presença nesta oportunidade de trocar pensamentos sobre o fenômeno religioso no contexto da América Latina. No full textWhen analyzing the different productions of Jung Mo Sung, we can realize that there is a persistent theme: how the economic system affects the construction of the social subject and collective subjectivities. In this article we return to this issue, consider it in Sung's work, and look for the ways in which the new situations that occur in the deepening of financial/virtual capitalism affect anthropological models or hegemonic cultural configurations.Al analizar las distintas producciones de Jung Mo Sung podremos darnos cuenta de que hay un tema recurrente: cómo el sistema económico incide en la construcción de las subjetividades y del sujeto social, en las configuraciones culturales. En este artículo retomamos ese asunto, lo consideramos en los trabajos de Sung, y buscamos las formas en que las nuevas situaciones que se dan en la profundización del capitalismo financiero/virtual inciden en los modelos antropológicos o configuraciones culturales hegemónicas.Ao analisar as diversas produções de Jung Mo Sung, podemos perceber que há um tema recorrente: como o sistema econômico influencia a construção das subjetividades e do sujeito social, bem como as configurações culturais. CONFLITOS E GOVERNANÇA DE RECURSOS PESQUEIROS EM RESERVAS EXTRATIVISTAS MARINHAS
No full textThe National System of Conservation Units defines an extractive reserve as a territory designated for the exclusive use of traditional populations, where compatibility between the sustainability of natural resources and the economic and social development of users must be ensured. However, the existing relationships within the territory lead to conflicts that require management strategies within local governance structures. In this context, the study aims to identify and analyze conflicts over the use of fishery resources in marine extractive reserves along the coast of Pará State, Brazil. Methodologically, the research was conducted through interviews with forty-eight extractivists in four conservation units, using semi-structured questionnaires and participant observation. The findings reveal that, despite the establishment of extractive territories, conflicts persist and impact relationships among individuals, communities, and institutions.O Sistema Nacional de Unidades de Conservação (SNUC) define reserva extrativista como território de uso exclusivo de populações tradicionais, onde deve haver compatibilização entre a sustentabilidade dos recursos e o desenvolvimento econômico e social dos usuários. Todavia, as relações existentes no território resultam em conflitos que demandam estratégias de gestão dentro das estruturas de governança local. Nesse sentido, o objetivo desse estudo foi identificar e analisar os conflitos pelo uso dos recursos pesqueiros em reservas extrativistas marinhas no litoral do estado do Pará, Brasil. Metodologicamente, a pesquisa se desenvolveu por meio de entrevistas com quarenta e oito extrativistas em quatro unidades de conservação, utilizando questionários semiestruturados e observação participante. Os resultados mostraram que apesar do estabelecimento dos territórios extrativistas, os conflitos persistem, afetando as relações entre indivíduos, comunidades e instituições
