    An Analysis of Women Representation in 2022 Nepal Local Election

    The proportion of women elected to local offices in 2017 was 40.95 percent. The situation improved slightly in 2022 when women accounted for 41.21 percent of all elected officials. These occurrences show that passing laws alone will not ensure women's participation; continuous monitoring is necessary to ensure the law is applied correctly. Using a combination of descriptive and analytical methods that worked better in the context of pragmatist philosophy, Descriptive techniques, such as surveys and observations, offer in-depth descriptions of phenomena; analytical techniques, such as statistical analysis and experiments, are used to test hypotheses and determine correlations between variables. The two approaches work well together to improve our comprehension of the research topic as a whole. This study combined liberal and representative political science theory with a mixed research design. The result shows that the 2022 elections offer a fantastic chance to increase women's representation in politics and build on the significant accomplishments of 2017. This is beneficial for social justice as well as aiding political parties in their election campaigns. Many women are eager to advance in their political careers, especially those who have worked in local government for the past four years. When it comes to gender equality, increasing the representation of women in public life seems like a good place to start. Consequently, there has been an improvement in the representation of women in local elections. Though the parties have exploited loopholes, the Election Commission has made progress in addressing the concerns raised regarding women's participation in the electoral process.&nbsp

    Aquaculture, Disease Occurrence and Preventive Strategies in Mymensingh District

    The study was conducted to assess the current fish culture strategy and management techniques in two upazilas (Trishal and Muktagacha) in Mymensingh district. The results revealed that the average pond area in Trishal ranged from 100 to 1500 decimal. However, the average pond area in Muktagacha was higher by 200-4000 decimal. The farmers in the study area used monoculture (50%). One-third (33.33%) preferred polyculture, with a few (16.67%) following both culture systems. The studied farms used preventive measures such as frequent health checks (66.67%), pond drying (66.67%), and pond lime application (100%). Approximately 66.67% of farmers used probiotics in their fields for beneficial purposes such as water quality control, growth augmentation, and disease resistance. In each selected upazila of Mymensingh district, 87.5% of farmers acclimatized fry before stocking them into ponds. The data revealed that fish production varied according to culture type, location, and culture duration. Trishal had the highest average yield (158.5 kg/ decimal). The average production in Muktagacha was (143.5kg/decimal). The results showed that Trishal had the largest year-round Pangas production (245kg/decimal) and Muktagachha had the lowest (150kg/decimal). Results regarding the disease and health assessment of cultured ponds evolved that four (04) types of diseases were discovered in the study area: bacterial, viral, fungal, and protozoan diseases. Most farmers performed preventive measures such as regular fish health inspections, pond drying, lime application, pond weeding, water turbidity removal, water addition, and so on. Almost all farmers (100%) in the specified area use lime in their ponds, while 41.67% undertake aquatic weed control.&nbsp

    Background: Haemophilus influenzae is appropriate to the family Pasteurellaceae, appeared as gram negative bacteria it is non-spore-forming coccobacilli shaping, and needs particular growth requirements, regularly requiring appended media for isolation. H influenzae type b (Hib) origins a series of proven diseases like pneumonia that principally found within early ages. The most corporate infectious diseases in humans occur at lower respiratory tract infections. Hib pneumonia has fatality proportions cannot be conventional measured, so, to exposure of H. influenzae type b within sputum related with pneumonic patients help for producing evidence in the ability of epidemics, uninterrupted tributary diffusion of infection occurring. Objective: Detection and evaluation of Haemophilus influenzae type b in sputum of patients suffered from pneumonia in Baghdad city. Patients and methods: collected of 80 sputum samples from patients were improved with pneumonia. Methods consist of sputum specimens for Gram stain and culturing for bacterial diagnosis and isolation, sputum are classically cultured proceeding blood agar along with chocolate agar, and MacConkey agar for differentiation as well medium with addition accumulation growth factors containing requirments of “X factor of (hemin) and V factor of (NAD)” as well by biochemical tests. Then for revealing bacterial DNA, with 16S RNA genes, “Real-time PCR” assay was prepared and equipped to identify DNA of H. influenzae within sputum samples. So, bacteial isolates appeared H. influenzae then diagnosed by serotyping type b determination by slide agglutination method. Results: Pneumonia with H. influenzae characters was identified with age group (3-15) years, high revealed with male sex, the age range (16-35) years. Identification of gram-negative coccobacilli in sputum samples as H. influenzae on blood agar, as N= 33, chocolate agar, MacConkey and specific agar and biochemical tests showed results included 43 positive result of H. influenza as showed in figure (2) were mostly with age 36-55 years, highly among males. PCR amplification of P6-16S rRNA PCR positive pneumoniae by H. influenzae improved (n = 43) of patients, then specifically isolated bacteria Haemophilus influenzae type b, based on slide agglutination tests, it was identified 17 (40%) from 43 isolates, with high significant as P-value about 0.005. Conclusion: The Haemophilus influenzae had type b revealed a main corporate origin of pneumonia disease especially within big progenies and adults with pneumonia, it was the most frequent manifestations, and showed important number of type b appearance, improved that Hib aggressively deliberated as a source of progression within pneumonia disease, with capability to approve genetically pure species within diagnosed isolates by identify H. influenzae through PCR within proven samples prepared as required for more accurately diagnosis. But preferably a serotyping process completed for totally H. influenzae isolates, so as to definitely categorize Hib, as well for capsule for strains.&nbsp

    Analysing Strategies used by Teachers in the English Reading Instruction for Grade Three Deaf and Hard of Hearing Learners at Selected Special Needs Schools in Lusaka District, Zambia

    This paper sought to analyze the pedagogic strategies teachers used to teach grade three deaf and hard of hearing learners to read English language. The objective of the study was to analyze pedagogic strategies teachers use in the English reading instruction for deaf and hard of hearing children at selected special needs schools in Lusaka district, Zambia. This research adopted two learning theories, which included constructivism and multimodality theory. As a descriptive qualitative research design, data was collected through semi-structured interviews and classroom lesson observations. The study sample consisted of seven (7) teachers and twenty-five (25) pupils totaling to thirty-two (32) respondents. To analyze the data thematic analysis was used. The findings established that teachers teaching deaf and hard of hearing learners reading in English employed a number of strategies in their reading instruction. The pedagogic strategies included picture reading, picture and word matching, lip reading, repeated class reading, fingerspelling, look and say, storytelling, translanguaging, sandwiching, interactive whole class reading, role play, language games, demonstration, miming, letter or word matching, question and answer, teaching using concrete or real objects and teaching learners Zambian sign language. The study concluded that while relevant strategies were used, teachers needed more capacity building in teaching deaf learners. The study therefore recommended refresher courses for in-service teachers in inclusive education practices.&nbsp

    Research in the Field of Prefabricated Building Management: A Case Study

    Due to its low energy consumption, short construction period, low labor cost, and great construction efficiency, prefabricated buildings have garnered extensive interest from scholars worldwide as a novel production method. Nevertheless, research on prefabricated houses is not yet thoroughly analyzed. This study summarized the existing state and research hotspots of prefabricated building research by thorough study and summarization of research on prefabricated buildings. According to the findings, there are five key areas of study within the prefabrication field: the sustainability of prefab structures, their meaning and current state of development, the development environment, project lifecycle management, and organizational management. Finally, offer some recommendations for future theoretical and practical work on prefabricated structures based on where the industry is at the moment in terms of development.&nbsp

    Pseudomonas aeruginosa: Isolation and Characterization

    A total samples were collected from patients who attended the main hospitals in Duhok city during the period from 8th May 2022 to 28th February 2023. Bacterial identification, and antimicrobial susceptibility were tested using the traditional methods and confirmed by VITEK 2 compact system. Fifty selected P. aeruginosa isolates were molecularly detected by conventional PCR assay using specific primers and sequencing of aac(6')-lb gene. For the prevalence of P. aeruginosa, 160 isolates were isolated from 670 samples including, burn 48(7.17%), ear 39(5.82%), wound 25(3.73%), urine 27(4.03%), and sputum 21(3.13%). Regarding antibiotic-resistant pattern, resistance was noticed to tobramycin, gentamicin, and amikacin showed resistance of 64.4%, 57.5%, and 51.9%, respectively. On molecular study, 50 isolates from 160 were selected for PCR assay. Selected isolates were confirmed by PCR assay that 46/50 (92%) were positive after aac(6')-lb gene with size 472 bp amplification, and have got clear bands on agarose gel 1% and electrophoresis, 10 PCR positive samples were selected to know the sequencing of aac(6')-lb genes. Moreover, all sequences were submitted to National Center for Biotechnology Information blast, recorded into Genbank, and got accession numbers for for aac(6')-lb (OQ538204, OQ538205, OQ538206, OQ538207, OQ538208, OQ538209, OQ538210, OQ538211, OQ538212, and OQ538213).The aac(6')-lb samples were identical (99-100%) to the references sequence.&nbsp

Edith Wharton's "In Morocco" (1917) offers insights into early 20th-century perceptions, while Marvine Howe's "Morocco: The Islamist Awakening and Other Challenges" (2005) presents a contemporary viewpoint. These texts are thematically analyzed alongside the real-life experiences of American travelers who have either visited Morocco or plan to do so. By understanding the motivations and reasons that lead individuals to choose Morocco as a travel destination, the study explores their expectations, assumptions, and pre-trip desires, shedding light on the lens through which they approach the country. Additionally, it investigates travelers' interpretations of Morocco's rich historical, architectural, cultural, and artistic aspects, uncovering the impact of pre-existing notions on their perceptions. Juxtaposing literature with firsthand traveler accounts, the study aims to discern disparities between anticipated and actual experiences.     Development and Implementation of an ESP32 IOT-Based Smart Grid for Enhanced Energy Efficiency and Management

    The advent of the Internet of Things (IoT) has ushered in transformative changes across diverse sectors, notably the energy domain, spawning the innovative concept of smart grids. This research delves into the development and deployment of an IoT-based prototype smart grid system, aiming to augment energy efficiency, reliability, and management. The system integrates current and voltage sensors, coupled with an ESP32 microcontroller, enabling real-time monitoring, control, and optimization of the prototype electrical grid. Leveraging Google Firebase as a cloud service for storing real-time data (current, voltage, and power), the prototype includes an architectural model simulating industrial, commercial, and residential areas within a city. The model features illumination controlled by three output relays linked to the ESP32 via a 2N222 transistor. A grid control interface, developed with JavaScript and React, interfaces with the Firebase real-time server to manage relay states. This interface empowers a distribution company to remotely designate powered sections, mimicking scenarios like sectional maintenance or compulsory load shedding. The collaborative effort in mini-grid design underscores the efficiency gains achieved through IoT implementation in conventional electrical grid systems, emphasizing time and labor savings in energy management.&nbsp
