This paper summarize a current state of a small unmanned aerial vehicles maintenance at the territory of the Czech Republic. The word “small” means unmanned vehicles with the maximum take-off mass not exceeding 20 kg. A reader becomes familiar with a RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aerial Systems) maintenance issues an also with a legislation in the first part of the paper. The legislation determines requirements for their maintenance. The next part describes the current state of this type of the maintenance. The last part of the paper deals with the future of the small RPAS maintenance. There is a rough estimate of a future maintenance development in this part of the paper. There also are a possible solutions of these issues in this part. These things are there because the authors think that there is a space for a RPAS maintenance improving

COMPUTATIONAL MODELING OF HEAVY DUTY TRUCK DRIVESHAFT

    No full text
The driveline of heavy duty vehicle is an important source of NVH. Prediction of NVH parameters of driveline in construction phase is a significant topic nowadays because it can save time and development costs, but requires more complex mathematical models. This paper describes the use of MBS simulation tool for prediction of driveshaft vibration where shaft is modeled as a flexible body. MBS approach can take into account various input parameters, i.e. unbalanced mass of shaft, geometry deviation from ideal shape, mounting points of eccentricity or contact between the shaft and other parts of the driveline. MBS model of driveshaft was verified by measurement on a real vehicle

    Leonard Cohen: The Modern Troubadour

    No full text
The following essay portrays parallels between the work of a contemporary singer-songwriter and author Leonard Cohen and the medieval Occitan troubadours. The main focus is put on the importance of the feminine character in their works. This character is often discouraging to any close intimacies – as far as the world of literature is concerned – but the singers are subjected / subject themselves to persistence in its worship. The paper does not want to prove any direct relatedness, but to highlight the importance of the tradition of the troubadour song and its echoes in the popular culture as we know it

Horoscopes Prepared by Master Astrologers from Krakow at the Turn of the 15th and 16th Century (according to the BJ 3225 and 3227 manuscripts)

    No full text
The article presents the output of Polish historiography concerning the research on Cracow horoscopes created before the year 1550, that is, in the period of the most active development of astrology as an academic science at the University of Krakow. At that time, astrology was a subject of enormous interest, which was reflected by the fact that horoscopes were ordered from professional astrologers (because of the price of the service, this was done mostly by wealthy people). These horoscopes were supposed to, according to popular views at that time, show the future. This, particularly with regard to the royal family, affected the policies of the ruler, and often the fate of the whole country. The article presents the output of Polish historiography concerning the research on Cracow horoscopes created before the year 1550, that is, in the period of the most active development of astrology as an academic science at the University of Krakow. Johann Franz Count von Würben and His Diary Entries from 1662

    No full text
This study consists of two parts. The second, more extensive part, comprises an edition of a newly discovered fragment of a diary from the year 1662, written in German by Johann Franz Count von Würben (1634–1705) which includes 77 daily entries from the period during which the Count was staying in Prague. This is not the edition of the original diary, however, since that did not survive. The authors therefore edited those parts of the diary that the Czech historian František Palacký collated during the 1820’s when he was working on the genealogical dossier that he subsequently dedicated to the House of Sternberg. This edition is preceded by an introductory study in which the authors establish this source within the appropriate contexts. First they dedicate attention to the diarist Count von Würben, reconstructing both his life story and his important secular career the initiation of which was facilitated by his relocation from Moravia to Prague and his marriage to the daughter of the Oberstburggraf Bernhard Ignaz von Martinitz. Subsequently, the authors discuss the motivation for keeping a diary and its informational value. They analyse Würben’s daily routine from his arising to his lying down to sleep, his daily programme and also the Count’s relationship with the family, while also reconstructing the network of his Prague friends and acquaintances linked via the Martinitz kinship clan (“Martinitzische freundschaft”), in whose company he spent most of his time. We also describe his leisure activities, which were dominated by card games, entertainment in the garden and the jeu de paume (a predecessor of modern tennis). The authors compare this diary with others and conclude that it is a quite unique source because the diaries from that period of young noblemen with growing families at the beginning of their public career have not survived in the Czech area. This study consists of two parts. CONTAINER PORT ´S CHOICE FACTORS IN A LANDLOCKED HINTERLAN D: THE CZECH REPUBLI C

    No full text
Containerization strategies have affected the scale of port competition in a lot of hinterlands. The European context has proven a complex dual range competition dynamics particularly involving the Northern Range and Mediterranean ports in recent years. How this dynamic develops in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) has received less attention, but will impact the growth opportunities of ports in both ranges. This paper focuses primarily on quantitative port choice factors in the landlocked Czech Republic. It is based on a quantitative analysis. The factors supporting the dominance of the port of Hamburg with the Czech Republic are discussed. Hamburg is characterized with lower inland haulage costs, total shipment costs and higher inland rail frequency compared to ports such as Bremerhaven or Koper. The proof underlines the share of Hamburg is likely to remain stable in coming years
