Newtonianism: How Thomas Paine Devalued the British Monarchy by Transforming John Locke’s Empiricism and Social Contract Theory
No full textThe following student contribution concerns Thomas Paine’s Newtonian concepts of society and government in the context of the Age of Enlightenment. Its aim is to demonstrate how Thomas Paine reinterpreted Enlightenment political thought as proposed by the empiricist theorist, John Locke, by using the principles of Newtonianism. Paine’s Newtonian politics is closely connected with his deistic faith. His political theory is devoted to the vision of a free society as a manifestation of the benevolent The Watchmaker. With this mission in mind, Paine attempted to devalue the contemporary models of the state of nature and social contract theory as interpreted by John Locke and to offer a more democratic version of these concepts. Paine’s key ideas in this respect are expressed in his most famous works Common Sense, The Rights of Man and The Age of Reason

Na základě rozsáhlé a strukturované rešerše literatury na dané téma spolu s kvalitativním výzkumem, který vychází z polostrukturovaných, částečně řízených, hloubkových rozhovorů spolu s následnou analýzou a její intepretací, si autor klade otázku, zda management přemísťování prázdných kontejnerů je v podnikové praxi vnímán spíše jako problematika optimalizace nebo spolupráce jednotlivých tržních subjektů na trhu intermodální přepravy v regionu střední a východní Evropy. Výzkum a jeho výsledky publikované v tomto článku se primárně soustředí na problematiku přemísťování prázdných regionů ve vnitrozemí regionu střední a východní Evropy, který slouží jako jeden z důležitých zejména dovozních trhů zboží ze zámoří přes námořní kontejnerové přístavy v Evropě.The paper challenges business implications of published research outcomes that apply mathematical analysis of container movements processes for specific geographical regions. Based on extensive and structured literature review of empty container repositioning, the paper identifies a lack of integration from a holistic point of view. The research is supported by qualitative study based on semi-structured in depth interviews of key actors´ managers and its analysis. The research questions if repositioning management is primarily perceived as an issue of equipment movement optimization or as one of collaboration especially in the case of the mostly landlocked hinterland in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The research addresses the topic of inland repositioning management with a linkage to the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) countries that is not considered by geographically framed research studies mainly focused on contestable European hinterlands

Pro porovnání byla použita data vztažená k silniční návěsové soupravě běžné stavby a silniční soupravě s využitím silničního intermodálního návěsu. Jako vzorek přepravy byla použita data z reálných přepravních zakázek z destinace v České republice ve směru severozápadní průmyslové oblasti Německa a návazně Belgie a Nizozemí.The aim of this paper is to compare economic and operational aspects in the transition from direct road transport to unaccompanied CT using intermodal road semitrailers. For the purposes of this comparison, data from actual transport orders were used on a route starting in the Czech Republic, going through the industrial Northwest of Germany and then to Belgium and the Netherlands

This activity includes, inter alia, on the one hand control of such roads, and on the other, to help drivers in need and deficiencies found. In Slovakia, the activity is performed by the National Motorway Company establishing Motorway patrols. V našom príspevku sme sa zamerali na simuláciu dopravnej situácie na cestnej sieti medzi mestami Bytča a Ružomberok, kde sa často vyskytujú dopravné nehody a kongescie. Daný úsek patrí medzi najviac vyťažené úseky cestnej siete v Slovenskej republike.Due to the constantly changing demands of road users, it is necessary to create transport infrastructure which will be able to meet these demands and introduce organising measurements to help achieve the effective use of transport infrastructure. In our paper we focused on simulation of traffic situation on road network between city of Bytča and Ružomberok, where congestions and traffic accidents often occur. This section is one of the most loaded sections of road network in the Slovak Republic
