Faktory ovplyvňujúce hodnotenie kultúry bezpečnosti pacientov v ambulantnej starostlivosti - prierezová štúdia

    No full text
Zber údajov bol realizovaný od júna do decembra 2021 pomocou nástroja the Medical Office Survey on Patient Safety Culture. Zdravotnícki pracovníci (N = 147) pracovali vo vybraných všeobecných a špecializovaných ambulantných zariadeniach v dvoch okresoch Žilinského kraja. Údaje boli analyzované v štatistickom programe IBM SPSS vo verzii 25.0 a to pomocou deskriptívnej a inferenčnej štatistiky. Štatisticky signifikantné vzťahy boli potvrdené medzi vybranými dimenziami kultúry bezpečnosti pacientov a vekom, vzdelaním, pracovnou pozíciou, počtom rokov praxe na pracovnej pozícii, počtom nadčasových hodín, počtom vynechaných zmien a poskytovateľom zdravotnej starostlivosti (p ≤ 0,05). The culture of patient safety is investigated in detail, especially in a hospital setting. In outpatient care, research on safety culture has only recently begun to take place; in the Slovak republic, it is absent. To improve patient safety, it is necessary to identify the factors that influence the evaluation of its culture in order to plan targeted strategies. The purpose of the study was to find out what factors influence the evaluation of patient safety culture by outpatient healthcare professionals. Data collection was carried out from June to December 2021 using the Medical Office Survey on Patient Safety Culture. Healthcare professionals (N = 147) worked in selected general and specialized outpatient facilities in two districts of the Žilina Region. The data was analyzed in the IBM SPSS version 25.0 statistical program using descriptive and inferential statistics. Statistically significant relationships were confirmed between selected dimensions of patient safety culture and age, education, job position, job experience in the position, number of overtime hours, number of missed shifts, and healthcare provider (p ≤ 0.05). Assessing patient safety culture in an outpatient setting is important because the impact of the components of patient safety culture and the regular evaluation of the factors that affect it are crucial for healthcare institutions in developing strategies to support a culture committed to providing the safest possible patient care.Kultúra bezpečnosti pacientov býva podrobne skúmaná predovšetkým v nemocničnom prostredí. The Standard of Living of the Inhabitants of Royal Towns in Moravia during the Price Revolution (1540–1620)

Using the methodological approach formulated by Robert C. Allen in 2001, the study examines prices and wages in the 16th-century Czech lands, whence, unlike most other European countries, comparative data about real wages have not yet been published. The reason is evident: there is no published edition with data suitable for this type of research. Unlike Bohemia, data from Moravia collected by Jaroslav Novotný provide a better basis for real wage calculation. Novotný excerpted data from all Moravian archives and recorded them on about 50,000 price cards deposited in the Moravian Land Archives in Brno. In combination with data published in cyclostyled workbooks Ceny, mzdy a měna [Prices, Wages, and Currency] during the 1960s, it was possible to create a database for the welfare ratio of nominal wages to the consumer price index. The research focused on a comparison of living standards in three Moravian royal towns (Olomouc, Brno, and Znojmo) in the period of the price revolution (1540–1620) proving that the situation in Moravia was similar to that in other Central European towns (Cracow, Vienna): the unqualified labourers lived under borderline poverty status and their economic potential was slightly decreasing. Nevertheless, neither benefits to wages, which are not provable in historical sources, could be included in calculations, nor the possibility of replacing some commodities of the consumer basket with cheaper substitutes. On the other hand, the real wages of master craftsmen were increasing. The results evidence that Central Europe was a specific region of the Small Divergence (low prices – low wages), unlike North Western Europe, particularly Amsterdam, and London, where prices and wages were considerably growing. It was a consequence of the uneven distribution of South American precious metals in Europe which resulted in the Great Divergence (high prices – high wages) in England and the Netherlands. The relationship between money supply and the price level is examined using Fisher´s equation of exchange, which retrospectively confirms the validity of the ascertained tendencies of development

“Pain of Speaking”: Language and Environmental (In)justice in Ofelia Zepeda’s Where Clouds Are Formed

    No full text
Ofelia Zepeda, an enrolled member of the Tohono O’odham Indian Nation (formerly Papago), is one of the most acknowledged Native American poets of her generation. Zepeda’s creative writing can be characterized as eco-poetry, for it is deeply connected with the natural environment of the Tohono O’odham traditional tribal territory in the Sonoran Desert of the American Southwest. The present paper focuses on the motif of language and speech as it is presented in Zepeda’s latest collection of verses Where Clouds Are Formed (2008). The paper maps the diverse forms in the work and in studies of individual poems (some of which are bilingual: English and Tohono O’odham), the significance of the traditional language within the context of so-called environmental (in)justice is explored

The commissioning of architectural and artistic work in the early modern period. Between economic history and the history of art

    No full text
Neither economic history nor art history can exist today without a consistent interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach. Historians of social and economic history must take into account in their research that the commissioning of an architectural or artistic work (not only) in the early modern period is not merely one type of economic investment, but that it represents a distinctive type of human action characterized by its artistic and spiritual value. Art historians, when studying the sources accompanying the commissioning of architectural works, must take note that, on the basis of the same principles, works that are usually perceived as non-art were commissioned in the early modern domain. Interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research of this type cannot do without the interconnection of economic, social and legal history from the position of historical science, and from the position of art history, the interconnection of art history, cultural history and the history of lifestyle cannot be omitted.Neither economic history nor art history can exist today without a consistent interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach.
