No full textDie vorliegende Schrift unternimmt den Versuch, die Waldorfpädagogik aus dem Zusammenhang der anthroposophischen Bewegung und der Erziehungsund Erkenntnislehre ihres Begründers, Rudolf Steiner, darzustellen. Der Verfasser wendet sich mit seinen Ausführungen sowohl an die fachlich interessierten Pädagogen wie auch an die Unkundigen unter den Bewunderern der Waldorfpädagogik und versteht sie zugleich als einen Beitrag zur Diskussion der Grundlagen aktueller alternativer Schulprogramme. Das Buch stellt eine umfassende und systematische Pädagogik aus nicht-anthroposophischer Sicht dar, und zwar als ein Beispiel für eine „absolute“ Pädagogik, die mit einem verbindlichen Menschenbild, einer spezifischen Menschenkunde und Methodik der Menschenführung arbeitet. Zu den Ergebnissen dieser Arbeit zählt der Nachweis, daß Steiners Schulpädagogik in enger Anlehnung an den Herbartianismus österreichischer Provenienz entwickelt worden ist und von dort ihre besonderen Formen des Lehrplans und der Methodik empfangen hat. No full textThis volume explores the relationship of mendicant men and women to cities and their inhabitants in the Mediterranean world, c.1200–1500. It asks questions including: what was specifically “urban” about the mendicant movement? what does it mean to think of the mendicants as an “urban phenomenon”? and was there anything common to mendicant experiences in the cities of the Mediterranean? In addressing these questions, the volume expands our understanding of the mendicants by offering chapters that examine this religious movement within urban environments from the Iberian Peninsula, North Africa, Southern France, and Italy, to the Dalmatian Coast, Aegean Islands, Egypt, and the Levant. The chapters treat a wide array of textual, artistic, and architectural sources to consider how mendicants navigated and negotiated the unique social dynamics of Mediterranean cities in their interactions with political potentates, merchants, prisoners, pilgrims, religious and intellectual elites, non‑Christians, and inhabitants of the surrounding countryside. It thus offers an interdisciplinary and broad survey of mendicancy as a social‑religious phenomenon of the urban Mediterranean, demonstrating that these communities can be defined by much more than their traditionally accepted roles as beggars, preachers, and teachers. Through analysing a wide range of data, the book engages historical, cultural, linguistic and pedagogical contexts relating to higher education in Japan. With a particular focus on Japanese tertiary education, the chapters provide comprehensive analysis from surveys and interviews conducted since 2020 amongst Japanese and non-Japanese Higher Education institutions (HEIs) on leadership styles, decision-making behaviours and perspectives on higher education practices in Japan. The authors also examine the challenges and impact on student mobility and international student education, and present future directions for the internationalisation of higher education in post-pandemic Japan. No full textDiese Open-Access-Publikation analysiert die Aus-, Ein- und Umstiegsprozesse in der sozial-ökologischen Transformation des 21. Jahrhunderts. Basierend auf den Erkenntnissen der Forschungsarbeiten werden Maßnahmen zur Weiterentwicklung der Energieinfrastrukturentwicklung für eine 100%-Erneuerbare-Energien-Ökonomie erarbeitet. Das Promotionsprojekt beruht auf der Entwicklung und Anwendung eines Forschungsansatzes, der hier als „angewandte Transformationsforschung“ beschrieben wird und sowohl interdisziplinäre als auch transdisziplinäre Wissensproduktion integriert. Der Band untersucht die Notwendigkeit der sozial-ökologischen Transformation, um grundlegende Maßnahmen zu formulieren und ein fundiertes Verständnis für die Entwicklung eines 100%-Erneuerbare-Energiesystems zu schaffen, das den existenziellen Herausforderungen der Klimakrise effektiv begegnet. Zukunftsfähige Maßnahmen und Konzepte für die Energieinfrastrukturplanung werden entwickelt, indem die Theorien der Vordenker*innen der Energiewende analytisch aufgearbeitet sowie aktuelle fossile narrative Barrieren und Verhinderungsstrategien der Energiewende beschrieben und dekonstruiert werden. Yonggom Wambon, a Dumut language of West Papua
No full textIn this book, the author, Wilco van den Heuvel, intends to make Drabbe's 1959 description of (Yonggom) Wambon available to a wider scientific public. As such, the book is in line with an earlier reanalysis by the same author of Drabbe’s description of Aghu (1957), which was published in 2016. In only 45 pages (!), Drabbe managed to present an incredible amount of Yonggom Wambon language data. The current work takes over 400 pages for their re-representation and reanalysis, and includes a 500-item wordlist that Drabbe had written a few years earlier. This book attempts both to increase our understanding of the peculiarities of this individual language, and to contribute to our understanding of the past and present of this still very under-documented part of our globe. An area where—as Drabbe foresaw—minority languages are disappearing, giving way to a common (national) language. The author expresses his gratefulness to Drabbe, for having unravelled some of the complexities of the languages in this area, which, in Drabbe’s words, form 'an eldorado for the practitioners of general linguistics’, ‘a labyrinth without escape for missionaries’, and—in the author’s words— ‘offer a unique and highly valuable perspective on specific communities in a specific space and time’

Die Textsorte ‚Erzählung‘ ermöglicht aufgrund ihrer Eigenschaften jedoch die Bewältigung von Erfahrungen, die dem Tod ähneln sollen. Fiktionalem und faktualem Erzählen kommen dabei qua literarischer Konvention unterschiedliche Möglichkeiten zu. Anhand zahlreicher Beispiele von Sterbeerzählungen von 1950 bis heute legt Andrea Klatt eine Systematik der Formen und Funktionen des Erzählens in Todesnähe vor. No full textThis edited collection contends that the figure of the child is foundational to the workings of biopolitical power yet remains undertheorized. The study of nineteenth-century biopolitics offers a theoretical framework that promises to increase our understanding of how modern democracies manage their subjects. Recent scholarship has invigorated interrogations into forms of state governance that operate at the level of population, a biological phenomenon defined as a group of individuals linked by racialized fictions of biological commonality. This collection seeks to recognize and position critical childhood studies as essential to these interrogations. The essays theorize the role of representations of children and childhood as tools of biopolitical governance in America in the long nineteenth century. They variously explore how the interrelated and overlapping qualities integral to our understandings of the child and childhood are readily deployed by biopolitical power. The collection is organized into three sections that illustrate how these qualities enable the sorting of human beings into populations targeted for reform, exploitation, and disposal
