Ventilación mecánica prolongada posterior a RVM
Mechanical ventilation in a patient undergoing coronary bypass is generally necessary for 1–2 days after surgery. Prolonged MV in patients with coronary bypass is defined as ventilatory support greater than 48 hours. When this is prolonged, the hospital stay, the cost of treatment, the risk of disability and the decrease in the quality of life are directly increased. Factors associated with prolonged MV in this group of patients include chronic kidney disease, advanced age, surgical time, emergency surgery. Elevated NYHA scores and COPD. Some less frequently documented risk factors are: female gender, diabetes mellitus, low blood pressure of oxygen prior to surgery and history of cerebrovascular disease. Muscle training of the patient prior to coronary artery bypass surgery improves respiratory function after surgery. Likewise, early mobilization is very useful as it reduces the risk of physical deconditioning. With this, it is possible to minimize the sedation time, maintain the ranges of joint mobility, reduce the time of mechanical ventilation and stay in the ICU.PublishedLa ventilación mecánica en un paciente sometido a bypass coronario generalmente es necesaria durante 1-2 días posteriores a la cirugía.
Gendered Jobs and Local Leaders
Men from business are overrepresented in local politics in the United States. The authors propose a theory of gendered occupations and ambition: the jobs people hold—and the gender composition of those jobs-shape political ambition and candidate success. This title is also available as Open Access on Cambridge Core
Navigating Issues of Equity in Schools Through Research-Practice Partnerships
This book provides a wealth of rich cases describing how research-practice partnerships (RPPs) in K-12 schools navigate equity in the design and implementation of their projects and shares insightful recommendations for both research-side and practice-side RPP leaders engaged in this work. Chapter authors from both researcher and practitioner communities unpack real examples that illustrate how RPPs conceptualized, conducted, and shared research related to prominent equity challenges in K-12 schools. Chapters also detail specific tensions and challenges – political, methodological, relational – and how to overcome these. Presenting an equity-focused RPP framework, this important volume explores how to cultivate trusting and equitable relationships among partners, prioritize humanity and equity in the identification and articulation of a RPP project topic, center equity goals, and align methodological approaches to equity objectives. This important resource helps aspiring, new, and veteran RRP leaders initiate projects or partner with new collaborators as they develop trusting relationships within university and school settings in order to conduct impactful, equity-oriented research
Immobilie Kirche
This conference volume places the church property at the centre of the interdisciplinary discourse on the transformation of sacred spaces. Sustainable conversion strategies for the future of our church buildings require great sensitivity, a willingness for transdisciplinary cooperation and the harmonisation of the different value systems of all stakeholders. In addition to specialist knowledge, 18 specialist articles and field reports from (international) practice provide inspiration for intelligent, creative and sustainable conversion and financing concepts, thus promoting the professionalisation of sacred space transformation with the help of the real estate industry
Forme materiate
The book collects a series of original contributions on the theme of Aristotelian hylomorphism, in particular on the theoretical and interpretative problems raised by the application of the inextricable couple material/form to the psycho-biological field. Each of the essays explores a specific aspect of the Aristotelian conception of the soul, according to a thematic extension that ranges from the ontology of the living body to the organization of the bio-cognitive functions of the animal, up to the practical and ethical-political dimension of human life.
Johan Storm Munch
Johan Storm Munch's life (1827–1908) was an encounter with most of the changes that Norwegian church life was exposed to in the 19th century. In this book, you can follow him from his early years in Kristiansand, where his father was bishop, and on to his life as a student in Kristiania. He came to live in a time of great spiritual renewal. As a student, Johan Storm Munch seems to have been influenced by the spirituality of the Moravian Brethren. As a pastor for Norwegian emigrants in the United States, Storm Munch got to know a church life that was both Lutheran and independent from national authorities. During the years he spent in America he also strengthened his relationship to the Haugean movement that had formed one of the Norwegian church bodies there.
When Johan Storm Munch became a student, his mother was widowed, and he had to finance his theological education by working as a schoolteacher. And it was as teacher he met the woman that should become his wife, Kaja Falch. Her letters from the time in the United States are an important source of knowledge about life among the emigrants, in addition to providing a picture of a creative and committed woman.
When Johan Storm Munch returned to Norway, he became a staunch advocate for freedom for the state church. He gave up his ministry in 1875 and moved to the capital with his family. There he worked as an evangelist with the American preacher Moody as his role model, while the most famous songs from Moody's Associates were translated into Norwegian. Who has not sung ""I Will Sing of My Redeemer"" and ""What a Friend we Have in Jesus""? His preaching in the Klingenberg Dance Hall and the Calmeyergaten Mission House often gathered over 2,000 listeners, and he published several books. He was also active as an advisor to those who founded the Evangelical Lutheran Free Church of Norway, in Arendal 1877.
Møtene Munch holdt samlet ofte over to tusen tilhørere.
Nonlinear Systems
Open Mathematics is a challenging notion for theoretical modeling, technical analysis, and numerical simulation in the fields of physics and mathematics, among others, as highly correlated nonlinear phenomena, evolving over a large range of time and length scales, control the underlying systems and processes in their spatiotemporal evolution. Indeed, available data, be they physical, biological, or financial, and technologically complex systems and stochastic systems, such as mechanical or electronic devices, can be managed from the same conceptual approach, both analytically and through computer simulation, using effective nonlinear dynamics methods. The aim of this Special Issue is to highlight papers that show the dynamics, control, optimization, and applications of nonlinear systems. This has recently become an increasingly popular subject, with impressive growth concerning applications in engineering, economics, biology, and medicine, and can be considered a veritable contribution to the literature. Original papers relating to the objective presented above are especially welcome subjects. Potential topics include, but are not limited to, the following: Stability analysis of discrete and continuous dynamical systems; Nonlinear dynamics in biological complex systems; Stability and stabilization of stochastic systems; Mathematical models in statistics and probability; Synchronization of oscillators and chaotic systems; Optimization methods of complex systems; Reliability modeling and system optimization; Computation and control over networked systems
EIB Working Paper 2025/02 - How do macroprudential policies affect corporate investment? Insights from EIBIS data
Macroprudential policies aim to preserve financial stability by curbing excessive risk-taking in the financial system. As a knock-on effect, they can also impact investment activity by firms. This study uses firm-level data from the European Investment Bank Investment Survey (EIBIS) for the period 2015-2022 to investigate exactly how different kinds of firms and corporate investment are affected by such macroprudential policies. This analysis confirms that the tightening of macroprudential policies influences bank lending decisions and leads to a reduction in corporate investment. More specifically, the study shows that financially weaker banks are more likely to restrict credit in response to such tightening. Firms that are heavily reliant on external finance for investment, as well as those that are financially weaker, are more adversely affected by a reduced supply of credit supply. Investments in tangible assets are more strongly affected than investment in intangibles, as firms anyway find it harder to obtain credit finance for investments in intangibles assets
