No full textThe here collected contributions relating to the 46th International Conference of the Representation Disciplines Teachers, organized jointly by Sapienza University of Rome, Roma Tre University, and San Raffaele Roma University, aim to offer the scientific community a reflection on the theoretical and methodological aspects related to the concept of èkphrasis, a term that, in the field of representation, concerns descriptive, analogical, and digital activities that generate new knowledge in several areas of application. The Conference aims to place at the center of the discussion an interpretation of the concept of research that, without neglecting an idea of study, protection, and enhancement of environmental and cultural heritage, focuses on the needs of contemporary society and its possible developments, making use of innovative theoretical, methodological, and operational activities, including those characterized by an interdisciplinary approach. According to this interpretation, research can also be seen as a foreshadowing of the definition and testing of experimental proposals aimed at exploring new areas of investigation: this opens up imaginative and utopian perspectives in the relationship between the sciences, the arts, and the disciplines that contribute to common goals, through the experimentation of methods, techniques, and languages for conceiving, prefiguring, designing, and representing

Yet, as frequently as the term "closeness to the population" is used, it often appears equally devoid of meaning. With few exceptions that go beyond vague generalities, police organizations fail to specify what exactly is meant by "closeness to the population." So, is community-oriented policing merely a chimera — a projection surface for an imagined "better" form of policing? This paper seeks to give shape to the concept of community-oriented policing, examines it in the context of Swiss police law, and highlights which aspects are feasible in Switzerland and which obstacles hinder their implementation

No full textIt is normal for all universities to have incorporated artificial intelligence research. Many articles, papers, and theses have been written in the last two years. This reflects the importance of the topic in all fields, but especially in the university setting, it is crucial for the development of educational programs tailored to the demands of the context. The objective of this book is to present research on AI by professors in Peru, Honduras, Panama, and Venezuela, from different contexts and perspectives. Various methodologies have been used depending on each objective. The conclusions range from the need for an epistemic construction emerging from universities to the perspectives of the tourism and public sectors on the matter. It is important to emphasize that these topics must be promoted by universities.PublishedEs normal que en todas las universidades se haya incorporado la línea de investigación de inteligencia artificial; muchos artículos, trabajos y tesis se han estado escribiendo en los últimos 2 años, esto refleja la importancia de la temática en todos los ámbitos, pero, sobre todo, en el ámbito universitario, viene a ser crucial para el desarrollo de programas de educación acorde a las exigencias del contexto. Existing literature predominantly focuses on general logistics practices, supply chain efficiency, and sustainability in terrestrial environments. However, there is a noticeable gap in research addressing the unique challenges of maritime provisioning logistics, particularly in terms of food security, crew well-being, and long-term sustainability in isolated environments. This monograph fills that gap by offering a comprehensive analysis of current practices, identifying challenges, and proposing innovative solutions tailored to the maritime context. By employing frameworks such as the Sustainable Balanced Scorecard (SBSC) and advanced statistical methodologies, the book provides practical solutions for improving provisioning efficiency while reducing the ecological footprint and enhancing crew well-being. The novelty of this work lies in its specific approach to sustainability in maritime food provisioning, combining empirical research, regulatory analysis, and strategic development. Drawing on detailed individual records, it explores changes in gender, age, geographic origin, study programs, and academic performance. The study highlights how key reforms in the Italian university system—particularly the 3+2 model introduced in the early 2000s—reshaped student paths and degree structures. The findings reveal fluctuations in graduate numbers and career, influenced by educational policy shifts, economic conditions, and evolving course offerings. Gender dynamics and regional origins are also explored, showing broader trends in Italian higher education. The research offers a long-term view of how institutional, social, and educational transformations have influenced the profile and output of one of Italy’s most prominent political science schools

No full textWie prägte das politische Selbstverständnis deutschsprachiger Revolutionsflüchtlinge nach 1848/49 ihr transatlantisches Familienleben? Und wie beeinflussten – umgekehrt – ihre Ehefrauen und Kinder den Umgang mit der revolutionären Vergangenheit? Das Buch geht zur Beantwortung dieser Fragen über bislang für die »Achtundvierziger/Forty-Eighters« vorherrschende Deutungen in dreifacher Weise hinaus: Erstens erfasst es ihre Leben als Migrationsbiografien und erklärt Selbstverständnis und Handlungskompetenz der Agierenden aus der Erfahrung von transatlantischer Mobilität. Zweitens analysiert es die vielfältigen Herausforderungen und Mobilitätsressourcen dieser revolutionären Familien vor, während und nach ihrer Flucht. Drittens nimmt die Studie erstmals systematisch die Revolutionärskinder in den Blick. Dadurch eröffnet sie eine Perspektive auf die Wirkungsgeschichte der Revolution, die auf innovative Weise Migrations-, Politik-, Geschlechter- und Generationengeschichte kombiniert. Insgesamt zeigt die Studie auf, dass Mobilität, Familie und politisches Selbstverständnis eng miteinander verknüpft waren und nur in ihrem Zusammenwirken verstanden werden können
