A Comprehensive Guide to Greenwashing Phenomena, Contexts, and Trends
This is an open access title available under the terms of a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 License. It is free to read, download and share on Elgaronline.com. Green communication can improve a firm’s reputation and performance, regardless of their genuine green conduct. This book investigates the greenwashing phenomenon and maps how firms mislead consumers by not delivering on their environmental promises.Publishe

Advanced Manufacturing Technologies of Thermoplastic Composites
It is well known that thermoplastic composites are increasingly applied to aerospace and automotive engineering, owing to their versatile properties, such as great fracture toughness and impact resistance, cycling possibility, infinite shelf life, etc. One of the most attractive properties of thermoplastic composites is that they can be fabricated by using out-of-autoclave (OOA) techniques, e.g., thermal forming, welding and 3D printing, etc., which provides them super cost-effective manufacturing processes. Based on the driving force from the continuous increase in the demand in aircraft or automotive industries combined with the announcement for lowering the environmental impact from aviation emissions, the thermoplastic composite market is believed to show an exponential increase in the following decades. However, there are still numerous scientific and technical knowledge gaps lying behind their manufacturing processes, which suppress the readiness levels and hence limit the current applications of thermoplastic composites. In total, 10 research articles are collected in this Special Issue, aiming at gaining deeper insights into the physical evolution mechanisms of the advanced manufacturing techniques of thermoplastic composites, thus laying a solid foundation for their further industrial applications
Digital Repertoires
Digital Repertoires explores the intersection between ageing and technology, presenting the concept of 'digital repertoire' as a powerful tool for researchers across disciplines such as anthropology, sociology, gerontology, public policy, communication studies and design. This book offers new theoretical and empirical insights, and highlights the diverse ways in which older adults engage with digital technologies across five continents. With studies from Australia, Brazil, Finland, Japan, the Philippines and Sweden, the book provides a global and cross-cultural analysis on a pressing issue.
The notion of the digital repertoire has broad appeal, making this book relevant not only to scholars and practitioners focused on ageing but to anyone interested in the heterogeneity of digital technology use across different age groups and cultural contexts. With a balanced approach that combines conceptual, theoretical and empirical perspectives, this volume is an essential resource for teaching, research and practice in the ever-evolving field of digital technology studies, as well as the development of technology for older adults
Den nordiska hushållsstaten
Martin Luther's concept of society as a household, ruled by parents, established a model of social organisation that would become important in the Nordic countries in the 17th and 18th centuries. With the dismantling of the Nordic monasteries in the Lutheran Reformation, households became the new framework for Christian life. The Ten Commandments replaced the rules of the monasteries. Similarly, morning and evening prayers in the households replaced the tidal prayers of the monasteries. At various levels, the household was the given and legitimate form of community and organisation. The relationship between parents and children therefore became normative far beyond what we would today call the biological family.
In older Nordic research, the important historical role of the household is usually associated with the Swedish church historian Hilding Pleijel and his thesis about the prevalence of the Household idea. Based on new research, the authors of this anthology confirm Pleijel's basic assumption about the central role of the household. However, this is done in a way that Pleijel himself would hardly have imagined.
After two chapters updating the state of research, a number of studies follow in which the historical and at the same time theological roles of the household are analysed at different levels. In the two Nordic kingdoms, the household is analysed in everyday life, in church teaching and as an overall household state. The anthology makes a special contribution by linking research fronts from Denmark and Sweden and offers comparative perspectives on why the household was given such similar but at the same time so different forms
The Balancing Act of Working Mothers and Caring Fathers
This Open-Access-book explores how egalitarian parental leave policies can support a more balanced division of paid work and caregiving. Introducing a novel analysis grid and a unique dataset, Meret Lütolf examines parental leave policies in five countries – United States, Switzerland, Germany, Finland, and Sweden – revealing how fully paid, non-transferable leave can promote gender-neutral caregiving roles. Key findings highlight the connection between longer paternal leave and a more equal distribution of unpaid work, along with fathers’ willingness to reduce paid work hours in favor of caregiving. By combining multiple research methods, the study links policy intentions with real-life outcomes and identifies feasible reforms, including full wage replacement, that can enhance egalitarianism without raising policy costs. Offering valuable insights for policymakers, researchers, and advocates, this book demonstrates how parental leave policies can contribute to more equal family dynamics and address broader gender inequalities in society
