Get PDFIn the twenty-year interwar period, the Municipal Library was one of the most important Polish institutions in Bydgoszcz, contributing significantly to scientific and cultural development of the city. Its employees initiated many social and political initiatives, and the library rooms served as seats of several organizations. The article refers to the source of this success, since it illustrates transitions of the library in the first years of independence, when it had changed from a Germanization tool to a Polishness center. The chronological range of this article encompasses three years of library operation; starting from 1920, when it was taken over by the Polish management, until 1922, the year that marked completion of German personnel replacement with Polish staff. In that period, the library collection was expanded by Polish books and adjusted to the fast changing national profile of the city, in which the Poles were the dominating population. The article describes many problems that the library management had to tackle in the beginning of its Polonization. Some of the challenges included insufficient funds, lack of qualified Polish personnel and a weak publishing market. Other interesting issues reported in the article focused on cooperation between various regions of the newly restored country, information flow, relations between the local elites and central authorities, international relations inside one institution, and the attitude of society, which dedication allowed to pursue many ambitious goals, despite scarce funds.

Get PDFThe article is a review of works carried out within the project “Digitalization of Academic Resources of the Region of Kuyavia and Pomerania for the needs of Science and Education of the Country.” Its goals included organization of access, popularization, protection and preservation for future generations valuable objects of culture and art in the collections of the UMK University Library, UKW University Library, Książnica Kopernikańska (Copernicus Library), the Museum of Diplomacy and Polish Refugees, and the Education Museum, as well as entering 15,000 online bibliographic book descriptions to UMK and UKW library catalogs, and through them – to the NUKAT central catalog. The UKW University Library digitized 10,000 documents in eight thematic collections: UKW Library Special Collections, Documents from Bydgoszcz Community Memorial Studio, Collection of the Department for Cultural Heritage of Eastern Borderlands, Archives of Wanda and Karol Poznański, Hungarian Collection, Collection of the Education Museum in Bydgoszcz, Reports of scientific societies and grammar schools in the 19th and 20th centuries from Książnica Kopernikańska, Repository of the Kazimierz Wielki University In 2018-2021, the UKW University Library in Bydgoszcz participated in implementation of the project “Digitalization of Academic Resources of the Region of Kuyavia and Pomerania for the needs of Science and Education of the Country.” Its beneficiary was the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. The project was financed by European Union funds (about Zl 3.9 million) and the state budget (almost Zl 707,000). The purpose of the project was organization of access, popularization, protection and preservation for future generations valuable objects of culture and art in the collections of the UMK University Library, UKW University Library, Książnica Kopernikańska (Copernicus Library), the Museum of Diplomacy and Polish Refugees, and the Education Museum, as well as entering 15,000 online bibliographic book descriptions to UMK and UKW library catalogs, and through them – to the NUKAT central catalog. As a result, the resources of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Digital Library were expanded by 28,000 of objects that had never been digitized, and the UKW Repository received 1,800 new publications. Akta polskich organizacji, stowarzyszeń i związków przechowywane w zasobie Archiwum Państwowego w Bydgoszczy
Get PDFFiles of Polish organizations, associations and societies account for only a small percentage of archives held at the National Archives in Bydgoszcz. Their conservation status in terms of quantity varies, limiting research possibilities concerning their structure and activity. Files of every organization, association and society create an independent archival group. Each of them has been provided with information on archival support making possible navigation among archives. Files that are stored only in part are included in a collection of remnants, comprising files of several organizations that have remained in a residual form. All information on archives presented are available in an online version on the portal Search in Archives available on the website of the National Archives in Bydgoszcz. The presented files, despite their residual nature, frequently serve as unique historical sources; however, they encourage expansion of searches by complementary archives containing important information on many organizations, associations and societies, e.g. files of state administration authorities and bodies due to their role in supervision over activity

Tropy te rozpoznaje pedagogika, analizując między innymi wpływ mediów na kształtowanie postaw młodego człowieka. Artykuł nie tylko w sposób rzeczowy diagnozuje ten wpływ, lecz przede wszystkim ukazuje szeroki wachlarz niezauważalnych niejednokrotnie „pułapek” manipulacyjnych mass mediów. Osnowę artykułu stanowi niezwykle ważne zagadnienie interakcji pomiędzy przekazem mass mediów a światem aksjologicznym młodego człowieka i jej wpływu na konkretne postawy. Istotne jest to, że autorka nie izoluje opisywanego fenomenu, lecz umiejscawia go w obszarze i kontekście rodziny, co pozwala na praktyczne ujęcie tej problematyki.Some reviewers of the present day point out the danger of anthropological dehumanization. These tropes recognize pedagogy by analysing, among other things, the influence of media on shaping the attitudes of a young person. The article not only physically diagnoses this impact, but above all reveals a wide range of often imperceptible „traps” of manipulative mass media and axiological world of a young person and its impact on specific attitudes. It’s important that the Author doesn’t isolate the phenomenon described, but places it in the area and context of the family, which allows for a practical approach to this issue
