Evaluation of Factors Causing Downtime with OEE and FMEA Approaches in the MGTR-RF15 Machine Production Process: Evaluasi Faktor Penyebab Downtime dengan Pendekatan OEE dan FMEA pada Proses Produksi Mesin MGTR-RF15
This research evaluates the efficiency of the MGTR-RF15 machine at RMP that focuses on raffia packing. In the last 6 months, MGTR-RF15 has experienced 100 times downtime which has caused the production process to stop temporarily, hampering the fulfillment of customer requests and increasing logistics costs. This study aims to determine the level of machine efficiency, determine the cause of the highest risk, and provide alternative suggestions for improvement. This research uses the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) approaches. MGTR-1F15 OEE value of 82.91% is below international standards with availability as the dominant factor affecting efficiency. The FMEA identified the bent strap clamp iron as the critical failure with the highest risk worth RPN 280. Root Cause Analysis (RCA) shows the root cause of the downtime problem so that alternative recommended improvements include routine training, implementation SOPs, inspection raw materials, and selecting high-quality suppliers
Smartphone-based Automatic Monitor Lizard Trap Prototype for Tilapia Fish Ponds: Prototipe Perangkap Biawak Otomatis untuk Kolam Ikan Nila Berbasis Smartphone
Tilapia is a freshwater fish widely cultivated due to its fast growth, ease of breeding, and adaptability. However, predatory monitor lizards pose a serious threat to tilapia farming by preying on fish in ponds. This research utilizes IoT technology to develop an automatic trap with smartphone-based notifications, allowing pond owners to monitor traps remotely. The trap uses a PIR sensor connected to an ESP32 microcontroller to trigger an automatic door and send alerts via the Blynk app. Testing showed an average ESP32 response time of 0.76 seconds and a 2.33-second reaction time for door closure after detection. The trap successfully caught a monitor lizard on the third day of testing. This tool helps reduce losses and offers pond owners additional income from selling live lizards. Despite minor delays, it is highly beneficial for tilapia farmers, especially in earthen ponds
