The study used descriptive assessment and correlational research design. The population of the study was the senior high school students of the Divine Word College of Laoag. It used questionnaires to gather the data and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data specifically weighted mean and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The study found that overall, there is a significant correlation between parental involvement basic psychological need satisfaction and academic stress. In other words, parental involvement produces positive and negative outcomes at the same time.  It can fulfil basic psychological needs satisfaction or improve well-being but at the same time, it can produce stress for the students. Looking into the specific findings, parent's emotional involvement is associated with a basic psychological need for autonomy. The three components: emotional, cognitive and behavioral involvement affect the basic psychological need for competence. While emotional and cognitive involvement are associated with relatedness needs. The same is true with parents' involvement with academic stress. Parent's emotional involvement affects students' level of stress in terms of external pressure and parents' behavioural involvement significantly affects the students' self-efficacy. &nbsp

The study aimed to examine the influence of attitude toward work on the organizational commitment of employees. To deepen the concept of the study, literatures were reviewed. The study applied descriptive assessment and correlational research design. The population was all employees of the institution. Questionnaires were used to gather the data and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The study found that the attitudes of employees toward their work and organizational commitment were high. The analysis of variance suggests that overall, there is a significant correlation between attitude and organizational commitment. However, taking it singly, there is no correlation between attitude and normative organizational commitment. Thus, the study suggests that management needs to enhance employees' organizational commitment through improving affective and cognitive attitudes toward work.&nbsp

Self-fulfillment and Work in the Light of "The Acting Person" of Karol Wojtyla

This study focused on the philosophy of Karol Wojtyla in his book entitled “The Acting Person” about one of the activities of a human person, i.e. work itself. Although he did not dedicate any topic to human work, his very explanation of the action of the person as both subjective and personal is what human work is. Work, as lived experience, is one of the many actions a human person is capable of doing. On one side, despite the toilsome or burdensome character of human work, there exists a uniqueness in the person apart from beings. On the other, despite the uniqueness and value of work, there still exists a dehumanization from work, that of being replaced by faster and seemingly more reliable machinery or technology.  However, work, as one of the many voluntary human actions, actually reveals the person and goes beyond his cosmological situatedness as simply a man. It is in the transcendence in action that changes these negative connotations of work putting the person as the subject and never the object of work. Work is a true manifestation of, first and foremost, our consciousness. The human person is not only conscious of his actions but even conscious of his conscious acting. Since the person is conscious of what he is doing, he is the efficient cause, that is, the active agent that brings about a series of effects. This conscious and efficacious acting brings about what Wojtyla would call self-determination, self-possession and self-governance.  Lastly, work as one of the conscious and efficacious actions of a human person brings about self-fulfilment or in other words “felicity,” knowing that it is the same person who creates and contributes, in and through his work how and what it is to be human

To gather the data, validated questionnaires were and descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. Weighted mean and Pearson r correlation was used to determine the level of different variables of empowering leadership and the correlation between empowering leadership and job satisfaction. The results indicate that empowering leadership of heads and job satisfaction of employees is not very high or high but a moderate extent and there is a significant correlation between empowering leadership and job satisfaction. No full text
The study aimed to investigate the influence of employee treatment on the organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behaviour of the employees. To deepen the concept of the study, literatures were reviewed. The population of the study were the employees of the institution. The study used a descriptive assessment and correlational research design. It used questionnaires to gather the data and thus, weighted mean and Pearson r were used to analyze the data. The study found that the employee treatment level of the institution is moderate. While the organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behaviour are high. However, the Pearson r correlation suggests that there are no correlations between employee treatment and organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behaviour. Thus, the variance of OC and OCB is due to other factors and not caused by the employee treatment. Therefore, the study recommends another study to investigate other organizational factors that affect OC and OCB

The study aimed to examine the interplay of bureaucratic, humanistic work environments and the organizational commitment of employees. To deepen the concepts of the study, literatures were reviewed. The study used a descriptive assessment and correlational research design. The population of the study were the employees of the Divine Word College of Laoag. To gather the data, validated questionnaires were used and weighted mean and Pearson r correlation were used to analyze the data. The findings indicate that the bureaucratic environment is higher than the humanistic environment which is at a moderate level and the organizational commitment of employees is also high. The correlation analysis demonstrates that there is no correlation between the bureaucratic, humanistic work environment and the organizational commitment of the employees. The higher organizational commitment is not caused by the work environment as suggested in the study, but it may be caused by other factors that are not considered in the current study. Thus, it is important to conduct other studies to investigate other factors like psychological factors and organizational factors that affect organizational commitment
