Examining the influence of employee engagement on employee’s productivity in budget–friendly restaurants

This study investigated how employee engagement related to productivity for employees in budget-friendly restaurants in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. Drawing on Kahn’s Model of Employee Engagement (Kahn, 1990), the study examined three key aspects of engagement: cognitive, physical, and emotional dimensions. These dimensions helped in understanding their effect on productivity, which was anchored on Human Relations Theory (Mayo, 1946).. The researcher collected data from 100 employees across different budget-friendly restaurants by implementing both descriptive and correlational approaches. The research results showed that employees demonstrated high engagement in all three dimensions, which led to substantial improvements in productivity. Among all engagement factors, physical engagement stood out as the most impactful because it showed the highest correlation with productivity levels. The findings illustrated how comprehensive engagement approaches could improve workplace performance. The study advised budget-friendly restaurants to enhance intellectual stimulation while sustaining supportive physical work environments and nurturing meaningful emotional connections to achieve this goals

The study aimed to examine the influence of knowledge management practices on individual work performance. To deepen the concepts of the study, the literature was reviewed. The population of the study was all the employees of the Divine Word College of Laoag. The study used descriptive assessment and correlational research design. Validated questionnaires were used to gather the data, and descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The study found that knowledge management practice and individual work performance are considered high and Pearson r correlation found a significant correlation between knowledge management practice and individual work performance. The study also recognized its limitations because of the limited population and the variables that are being measured. It is important to conduct another study to include more variables of knowledge management practices and a bigger population

The study aimed to identify and analyze the most common problems experienced by students of Divine Word College of Laoag (DWCL) through the administration of the Inventory of Common Problems (ICP) mandated by the Office of the Fr. President. Data were collected from 1,753 participants between November 18, 2025, and February 11, 2025, using both Google Forms and in-person interviews. A total of 1,658 valid responses (94.58%) were analyzed. Responses were rated using a Likert scale to determine levels of distress, worry, and bother across six domains: academic problems, depression, anxiety, physical health problems, interpersonal problems, and substance use. The highest concern was academic problems (M=1.9915), followed closely by anxiety (M=1.8844), physical health issues (M=1.8770), and depression (M=1.8413). Interpersonal problems (M=1.5994) and substance use (M=1.1045) scored lower but remained relevant. Findings highlight the strong link between academic stress, mental health, and physical well-being, suggesting the need for holistic interventions. This study provides empirical evidence to guide the institution in improving student support systems, contributing to the broader discourse on student welfare in the Philippine higher education context

Abstract This study, Cultivating Mathematical Proficiency: An Investigation of Pedagogical Strategies for Enhancing Problem-Solving Skills, examined the strategies used by mathematics teachers to develop students’ problem-solving competence, the challenges they face, and the influence of these approaches on learning outcomes. Using qualitative analysis, findings revealed that teachers employ varied strategies such as Polya’s four-step method, gamified activities, inquiry-based learning, and technology integration to make problem-solving more meaningful and engaging. However, limited instructional resources, time constraints, and inadequate training hinder consistent implementation. Teachers emphasized the importance of professional development, administrative support, and access to materials in improving instructional quality. The study concludes that continuous teacher training and institutional support are essential for fostering students’ analytical and critical thinking skills through effective problem-solving instruction. &nbsp

This study examined the specific classroom management practices in private Catholic schools, emphasizing the integration of academic excellence with moral and spiritual formation. Using a descriptive phenomenological design, 12 teachers from the Diocese of Laoag Catholic Educational System shared their experiences through open-ended online questionnaires. Thematic analysis revealed five key practices: integration of faith and values, positive discipline, consistent structure, modelling of Christian virtues, and collaboration with parents and support staff. Challenges included student behavioral issues, balancing discipline with compassion, engaging students in faith activities, conflicting values with parents, and environmental constraints. The study concludes that effective classroom management in Catholic schools requires structured, faith-centered approaches supported by professional development and strong institutional and home–school partnerships.   &nbsp

This study aimed to explore the various strategies teachers employ to promote reading success among learners despite the challenges encountered in the classroom. Anchored on the belief that effective reading instruction goes beyond overcoming academic difficulties, the research investigates how teachers adapt, innovate, and motivate students to develop strong reading skills. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were gathered through interviews and classroom observations with selected elementary teachers. Findings revealed that teachers utilize a combination of differentiated instruction, contextualized learning materials, and continuous assessment to address diverse reading needs. Moreover, the integration of technology, peer-assisted learning, and reading remediation programs proved instrumental in enhancing comprehension and fluency. Despite limited resources and time constraints, teachers demonstrated resilience and creativity in fostering a supportive reading environment. The study concludes that teaching beyond the struggles requires commitment, adaptability, and a learner-centered mindset to ensure reading success for all students

A descriptive correlational research method was employed. Frequency count, percentage, weighted mean, standard deviation and Spearman Rank-Order Correlation Coefficient (Spearman rho) were the statistical tools used with Jamovi as the statistical software. There were 315 respondents involved. The study revealed that the level of teaching effectiveness as perceived by the respondents was high while the level of students’ academic performance was very satisfactory. There existed a significant small/low positive correlation between the levels of teaching effectiveness and students’ academic performance. Based on the findings of the study, the author recommends that the DepEd Key Officials, through the Senior Education Program Specialist of Human Resource Development (HRD) in the different governance levels use the findings of this study as the basis for crafting a training proposal on teaching effectiveness.
