It is the machinery that becomes one of the major indications of the city andthe urban way of life, since it implements the processes of depersonalisation and alienation. One of the possibleconsequences of the interaction between the human and the machine is formulated in Hanna Osadchuk’spoem “Technoconfession”. Get PDFThe article deals with the contacts between Bohdan-Ihor Antonych and Polish poets of the first half of the 20th century, concerning immediate collaboration, mutual critical reception and intertextual dialogue. The author pays special attention to Antonych’s cooperation with the editors of Lviv-based Polish magazine “Sygnaiy” (“The Signals”) as well as to the poet’s opinions about Polish poetic groups “Rybaіci” (“Jesters”) and “Skamander” (“Scamander”). The paper concludes with the analysis of images and motifs which are common for Antonych and two Polish modernist writers adhering to natural philosophy in poetry, Julian Tuwim and Bolesław Leśmian.Стаття присвячена зв’язкам Богдана-Ігоря Антонича з польськими поетами першої половини ХХ ст. – у площині безпосередніх контактів та співпраці, у царині критичної рецепції й на рівні суто інтертекстуального діалогу. У полі уваги автора – співпраця українського поета з редакцією польськомовного львівського часопису “Сигнали”, Антоничеві відгуки про діяльність польських поетичних угруповань “Рибалти” і “Скамандр”. Статтю завершує аналіз образів і мотивів, спільних для Б.-І. Антонича та двох яскравих польських поетів-модерністів, адептів натурфілософської поетики, – Ю. Тувіма та Б. Лесьмяна

Get PDFThe article conceptualizes the axiological semantics of Vasyl Stus’ works, for whom the inner catastrophe became an object of personal drama and artistic grasping. The scholar applies phenomenological approach elaborated by Edmund Husserl and his followers in order to place Stus’ poetic texts into the context of Christian axiology. Special attention is paid to the problem of author’s intentionality in a literary text. Heuristic effi ciency of such comparative research of literary and religiousdiscourses is determined by their infl uence on values of individual existence, as well as by our searching for answers to the challenges of catastrophical being.У статті здійснено літературознавче осмислення ціннісної семантики творчості В.Стуса, для якого внутрішня катастрофа стала предметом особистісного переживання й художнього осягнення. Розглядаючи поетичні тексти на тлі християнської аксіології, дослідник використовуєрозроблений Е. Гуссерлем і його послідовниками феноменологічний підхід, приділяючи особливу увагу проблемі авторської інтенціональності в літературному творі. Евристична продуктивність такого компаративного дослідження літературного і релігійного дискурсів зумовлена їхньоюспівпричетністю аксіологічним вимірам екзистенції індивідуума, а також пошуками відповідей на виклики катастрофізму буття
Urban spaces in the novels by Yuriy Andrukhovych
Get PDFСтаття присвячена аналізу урбаністичної топології й урбанізму у творчості Юрія Андруховича. Андрухович у своїх романах удається до свідомої “урбанізації” української літератури, продовжуючи певну традицію, започатковану на межі ХІХ-ХХ століть і перервану в добу панування соціалістичного реалізму. Завдяки тематизації міста та властивих йому місць (корчма, таємничий дім, вежа тощо) автор пропонує інтерпретаційний ключ для прочитання своїх текстів.This text is an attempt to analyse urban topology and urbanism in the works by Yuriy Andrukhovych. In his novels, Andrukhovych deliberately embarks on the «urbanisation» of Ukrainian literature. In this way, he carries on with the tradition established at the turn of the 20th century and interrupted by the domination of socialist realism. The topoi of the city and its peculiar spaces (a pub, a mysterious house, a tower, etc.) provide the clues for reading his text
