Get PDFУ статті зроблено спробу ритуально-міфологічного аналізу повісті Миколи Гоголя “Шинель”. Апелюючи до тієї дослідницької традиції, яка особливої ваги надає релігійним підвалинам світогляду письменника, авторка доходить висновку, що протагоніст повісті – носій низки показових символічних рис психо- й міфотипу переписувача священних текстів. Паралельно розглядаються архетипальні мотиви раю, персони та ін., що формують й утримують своєрідний міфологічний підтекст “Шинелі”. Здійснений аналіз дає змогу з дещо іншої перспективи подивитися на стереотипи, закріплені у сприйнятті цього твору.The paper was written as an attempt at myth-ritual reading of Nikolai Gogol’s narrative “The Overcoat”. Abutting upon the tradition of interpretation which attaches great importance to the religious foundation of the Russian writer’s world-view, the author argues that the protagonist of Gogol’s narrative should be considered a representative of the psychological and/or mythological type of the Holy Scriptures’ copyist. The paper analyses the archetypal motifs of paradise and person which imply the subtext meanings of “The Overcoat”, thus offering a new perspective on the old interpretational stereotypes

Get PDFУ 2000 році роман “Євангеліє від Пілата” Е.-Е. Шмітта утвердив його репутацію як романіста і приніс нагороду “Grand Prix des Lectrices de Elle”. Цей роман подав нову інтерпретацію життя Ісуса, що викликало безліч дискусій; спірним стало й визначення самого жанру. У статті наведена гіпотеза, згідно з якою перед нами “духовний роман”, заснований на гностичних традиціях дохристиянських євангелій. “Духовний” роман Е.-Е. Шмітта фокусує увагу на переході від постмодерної поетики homo ludens до поетики homo sacrum.In 2000 “The Gospel of Pilatus” has established Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt’s literary reputation and made him the winner of “Grand Prix des Lectrices de Elle”. The novel brings forward a new interpretation of Jesus’ life which has called forth a lot of controversy. Controversial is also the defi nition of this text’s genre. In this article, we argue that “The Gospel of Pilatus” can be defi ned as a “spiritual novel” based on the tradition of gnostic interpretation of pre-Christian gospels. E.-E. Get PDFThe article gives consideration to the school theory of epitaphs in Ukraine of the late Baroque era. “Epitaphs” were then understood either as funeral poems in general or as a genre definition. Some poetics emphasized the epigrammatic form of epitaphs; others stressed the function of epitaphs as inscriptions infl uenced by rhetoric. The paper also pays attention to the composition of epitaphs, the methods of their writing, their classifi cation and the specific character given to them by the person to whom they were dedicated.У статті розглянуто шкільну теорію епітафії в давній Україні. Get PDFThe paper deals with the work by Kyrylo Tranquilion Stavrovetskyi “Praise of Triple Wisdom Witnessed in This Age”, included in the collection “The Precious Pearl” (Chernihiv, 1646). The name and composition as well as baroque poetics and rhetoric of the analyzed work refl ect certain aspects of medieval Trinitarian doctrine and elements of Renaissance humanism, inherent in the views of the author. Stavrovetskyi highly appreciates the weight of poetry and philosophy in the spiritual life of man, while giving preference to theology. The wisdom that comes from the Son of God is important for him, as well as the wisdom that comes from the gifts of the Holy Spirit, that is, the special knowledge given to the prophets, the apostles and the pious theologians. The third wisdom is an innate human faculty of thinking, creative work, directing others and philosophical refl ection, associated with the first person of the Holy Trinity, with God the Creator. The philosophical context is realized from the standpoint of high theological mind. The outline of the historical-literary and religious-philosophical context opens the way for deeper understanding of stylistic tools and the author’s semantic codes. The rhetorical approach of the author of “Praise…” focuses on the monological (with the elements of dramatization) and emotionally intense appeal to the Wisdom of God. Stavrovetskyi shows some contrasting aspects of world perception. The reader may fi nd here some mystical sentiments and profound theological knowledge realized in the poetic forms, as well as quite traditional ideas of the divine origin of man. At the same time the author focuses on some critical views on people and society.
У статті розглянуто “Похвалу о Премудрости троякой, въ вѣцѣ сем явленной”, опубліковану в збірці Кирила Транквіліона Ставровецького “Перло многоцѣнноє” (Чернігів, 1646). Назва й композиція, барокова поетика й риторика аналізованого твору відбивають певні аспекти середньовічного тринітарного вчення та елементи ренесансного гуманізму, притаманні поглядам автора. Окреслення історико-літературного й релігійно-філософського контексту відкриває шлях до глибшого розуміння стилістичних ходів і авторських смислових кодів. В аналізі тексту враховано окремі аспекти читацької рецепції твору наприкінці ХVIII ст.

Універсальні культурні коди, властиві прозі Л. Дереша та В. Набокова, дозволяють простежити естетичний відблиск останнього незавершеного твору знаного майстра (“Оригінал Лаури”) у романі молодого українського митця (“Поклоніння ящірці”)

Get PDFThe article studies the manifestations of biblical text in the poetry of Stepan Sapeliak, paying special attention to the use of biblical text as a mediator of the author’s position. The intentional world of Sapeliak’s poetry is represented through the prism of Christian humanism. The paper analyzes integral and differential features of traditional images in the writer’s lyrical heritage. The basis of the interpretation offered here is the author’s text which allows to single out the biblical codes underlying Sapeliak’s artistic approach.У статті з’ясовуються аспекти функціонування біблійного тексту в поезії Степана Сапеляка, що опосередковують позицію автора. Його інтенційний світ репрезентовано крізь призму християнського гуманізму. Проаналізовано інтегральні й типодиференційні характеристики традиційних образних структур у ліриці митця.
