Bogatie inalta si incredere scazuta in universul semantic al manelelor

    No full text
This research explores the message of “manele”, a contemporary type of ethno-pop music that is strongly contested by intellectual elites, arguing that manele's semantic universe reproduces representations of the practices of localization of a capitalism tacking Protestant ethic, in which the logic of economic exchange is depicted through the metaphor of the "smecher" (one who is crazy, cunning, or sly) who defeats his enemy. In addition, the celebration of wealth and the ostentatious consumerism are accompanied by the lack of trust in others, inducing feelings of insecurity and causing the individual to return to his family

In this paper I try to show how Popper's suggestion to change an optimistic assumption about politicians can help us to stress the social contract between government and citizens. This paper has three parts the first two sections revisit Karl Popper's epistemology in order to bridge the domain of public policies with his theory. The last section builds upon the institution accountability in the political process

Tensiunea dintre comunizarea corporalitatii si fomlarea capabilitatilor

The argumentation of this thesis advances the following hypothesis: contemporaneously the hypostasis of corporeality is achieved through collective proximity of female body forcing equivalence between the body and public good. In other words the female body becomes, de facto, a collective property. Mainly there are two consequences of this dispossession. The first one is the transformation of female existence in a corporeality derivate in a upper signification of female body within the society, by making It profitable, thus by its transformation in capital and its manipulation through everyday social practice. The second consequence, situated on antithetical pole is the abstraction of the female from her own body, leading to a paroxysmal form a sort of fear of the body. Fundamentally different, the two consequences corporeality communization place the female body in a phallocentric speech invested with historical constant value. Thus, whether we consider a upper significance of feminine corporeality by means of the cult of the body and its institutionalization at the community level or we associate the corporeality communization with obstinacy to forget about one own corporeality, we operate with a patriarchal definition of the female body. In other words, we reiterate an epistemological paradox: although the scientific approaches aim the male body, the female body is further defined androcentric. The second part of my paper is rejecting a particular case of communization of female body which is to be found in the interdiction of burka in France. I am suggesting that the interdiction is based on the way in which female sexuality is colonized by the hegemonic power of male sexuality

Libertatea religioasa in Romania postcomunista: noua lege a libertatii religioase

Construction of each government policy designed in part, during the years after the Revolution, included more or less religious freedom issues. Citizens were satisfied with the freedom gained after the 1989 Revolution without questioning too much different concerns aimed by minorities, such as religious freedom. Many of them once entered into the public debate were often treated with disregard by policy makers able to correct the deficiencies raised. Legislative journey of religious freedom legislation deserves attention because it highlights the degree of democratization and people's perceptions of society on sensitive issues. To what extent this legal framework meets the expectations of Romanian citizens? Does this law facilitate the religious freedom in Romania? Is the religious freedom guaranteed for the religious minors? Does this legal framework meet the demands of religious dynamic in Romania and Europe? These types of questions, and others similar, I'll try to give an answer throughout this article. Based on documents, facts and testimonies I’ll try to evaluate the present situation of religious freedom in Romania. There is currently a contested legislation, but more than that, the reflexes that have mattered significantly in enacting such a law. The influence of “cults” (recognized by government religion groups) or just religious groups for the drafting, the lobbying various interest groups, the interventions of NGO, the voices of different personalities involved and the attitudes of the political class through the process of drafting the law, gives an overall complex view over this process that has as result the law of religion valid since 2007. In this context it is remarkable to note some of the external interventions to the bill proposed for approval along with the reactions that followed promulgation. Because the law still does not have normative rules, and the debate over these has not been pursued, it is premature to outline the consequences, although they have already being raised. The research stage could not be completed since there is a law, but functionally works by exceptions

In the following article I will discuss women’s labor conditions in the export-oriented sector in terms of gender dynamics of labor and precarity. Firstly I will explain the motives of the expansion of the sector due to economic transformations. According to the latter, there is a change ofparadigms and women are considered to be the important engine to economic development and the resolution to the poverty problem. I will develop my argument comparing the traditional Western feministperspective with intersectionality feminism and how the former fails to explain the perpetual exploitation of poor women, insisting on liberation through self-empowerment. I will support my argument offeminization labor by explain the phenomenon of emotional work and the emotional tendency of womenin the labor market. In this paper, I am going to focus on women’s labor conditions in the export-oriented sector in Balkan countries and how the economic transformation during the transition led these industries to become on the most important factor of development supported even by the state

Using a social diagnosis of the causes and effects of marginalization, this study of the sociology of education aims to show the economy, social, and cultural causes that perpetuate the school failure of Roma pupils. In common perceptions the issue of Roma education has a pejorative connotation and is accompanied by school dropout. school failure, and low absorption into the labor market. The effects of low levels of education are poverty, marginalization, juvenile deliquency, criminality, alcoholism, social exclusion in the country of origin, and international migration, followed by new forms of exclusion in the places of migration. The socioiogical survey was conducted in two schools, both of which had a majority of Roma children and had benefited from an educational project conducted over five years, to observe in what ways the Roma students' performance and perceptions about the school had changed. Also studied were the interactions between teachers and students, and between Roma and non-Roma students

The relationship between the us and France has profoundly affected the process of international intervention, use of force and humanitarian actions in the conflicts across the world since 1990. Military interventions and decision making in international affairs has been the result of the balance of powers inside the UN Security Council from the end of the Cold War onwards. From the peak of 9/11 to the low of the Iraq war the French-American relations have constantly kept the international agenda alive. With the changes in both the US and French administrations in the past 4 years, with the overall EU dynamic, as well as with the developments in MENA (Middle East-North Africa) in recent months, the interaction between those two main actors of the trans-Atlantic partnership, has gained new dimensions. The present paper attempts to analyze the consequences of the French-American relations of the past 2 decades on the UN system and on the legitimacy of international interventions

Civitas terrena: arhitectura politica a izolarii

The reluctance towards philosophical texts in Eastern Europe is linked with ideological biased understanding, even in cases when practical significance is missing. Metaphysical discourse is perceived as a form of failed literature. Also philosophical act deprived of moral query led to deficient reasoning and expansion of an excuse culture. The elite's consensus encouraged “escort speech” of themes and issues endorsed by major Western cultures. The conformity of the intellectual is, at least in part, the consequence of the prestige groups disposition to refer ironically to ethics
