The poverty, the social exclusion, the repeated violation of human rights, the tack of identification documents, the lack of the access to medical care, the low level of employment, as well as the discrimination at all levels, represent problems of the Roma minority. Among these, the lack of identification documents is especially grave - ethnic Roma are unable to exercise their rights as provided in the Romanian Constitution, making them unable to benefit from the system of social assistance. Against the background of an acute lack of political wilt that characterized the political and governmental action from 1990 to the present, the Romanian Government acknowledged the real situation of the Roma only because of the pressure exercised by European institutions. With all of this, the national plans and strategies for the issue of the Roma are inefficient, improperly implemented, and often do not correlate with the real needs of the community. The dialogue between the state and the Roma communities, the basic instrument to the solution of these problems, is still marked by profound deficiencies

As Michael Silk argues, we should see sports as “an element of the cultural terrain” which shapes the everyday experiences of the individual and becomes thus an importantelement in forming or contesting hegemony. (Andrews and Silk 2012, 5) In this article I willon the one hand analyze the process of forming the hegemony in football and, on the otherhand, I will analyze the movement that challenges the effects of the neoliberal hegemony infootball, in order to find out to what extent the Against Modern Football movement could beseen as a counter-hegemonic movement

Drepturile electorale ale migrantilor în România: o asimetrie nejustificatã

In this article I aim to explore whether the Romanian pattern of voting rights allocation in the case of migrants is compatible with the most salient accounts of principles on bounding the demos. I draw on the „all-affected interests” principle, the „all-subjected” principle, and the „citizenship stakeholders” principle, arguing that none of the policy implications stemming from these principles correspond to the Romanian pattern. Thus, I conclude that to the extent that this pattern could be normatively justified, such a justification cannot be provided by the main theories in the literature on the democratic boundar

Given the increasingly decaying environment on which our very existence relies upon and our unabashed ignorance, more so displayed by political office-holders and key, global economic actors, I set out in this article to summarize the current relevant debates on the topic, and why environmental issues rarely do gain salience in the political arena using a cross-disciplinary framework that I believe is most capable of providing a justification for our current state of affairs concerning the environment. To this end, I am using multiple concepts and arguments, while arguing that if we ever are to expect any significant betterment of our climate, it is going to be first and foremost the responsibility of nation-states to coordinate their efforts in order to improve and avert a potential devastating catastrophe

    Operationalizarea retelelor de socializare

The aim of this article is to give an improvement regarding the operationalization of social networks. The concept of social networks can be analyzed as ways to achieve common objectives and generate policies of distribution redistribution of goods. The analysis is based on the theoretical frameworks provided by the Capabilities Approach and the institutional Analysis and Development (IAD) Framework and seeks to provide a synthetic model through which we can highlight the most important aspects of social networks. In this regard, I will rely on conversion factors. presented both by Amartya Sen (such as personal characteristics, social characteristics and environmental characteristics} and Elinor Ostrom (attributes of human behavior, society and the biophysical world) and political capital ie how social capital is transformed into political capital by collective action, in the case of distribution and redistribution policies inside a community. The first part dents with the normative theories of the Capabilities Approach and the Institutional Analysis and Development Framework in order to identify the research variables. In the second part I analyze soda! networks during Romania's transition process and the method through which we can explain the changes after this process. I have chosen these  specific approaches because I believe that in order to study social networks, meaningly the ways people interact in society, one must rely not only on a rational choice theory, but also on an approach based on capabilities, in which we find important information on the subject of human freedoms and functionalities

The migration and Roma inclusion debate has gained a boost in visibility and publicity at the halfway mark af the Decade of Roma Inclusion, an initiative that select European governments, intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizationsand Roma civil society began in 2005. This article debates the problems concerning the EU strategic initiative that seeks to improve the situation of Roma throughout Europe - partcuiarly in the areas of employment, education, housing and health - and to construct applied measures to accelerate Roma integration. Roma, the largest minority group in Europe, have lived throughout the continent for centuries and have long faced discrimination and high leveis of poverty. Romania and Bulgaria, which joined the European Union (EU) in 2007, have particutarty large Roma populations. In the last two years, Roma have come under new pressure in EU Member States such as Italy and France, which have emphasized expulsion as a means af addressing migration concerns. For Roma from Romania and Bulgaria who were living in France. the year 2010 witnessed an escalation af this pressure alongside an escalation of the accademic and political debate regarding Roma inclusion
