ECONOMIC GLOBALISATION AND URBAN UNEMPLOYMENT IN NIGERIA
Considering that unemployment has been a serious problem in the Nigerian economy, and that economic globalisation had been proposed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as an alternative to addressing the problem, this study examined how components of economic globalisation - foreign direct investment(SFDI), foreign portfolio investment (SFPI) and international trade balance (SITB) - as percentage share of real gross domestic product (RGDP) affect urban unemployment (UUE) in the country. To achieve this objective, data for the period 1986 to 2021 were estimated using the Augmented Dickey-Fuller unit root test and the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) Bound test technique. The results indicate that the SFDI and SFPI were stationary at level, while SITB and UUE became stationary after first difference. It was also observed that the variables have long-run relationship, and that SFDI and SITB had positive and significant impact on urban unemployment, while SFPI reduced urban unemployment in Nigeria significantly. The study concludes that SFDI and SITB contributed to rising urban unemployment in Nigeria, while SFPI was very potent in the reduction of urban unemployment in the county. The study therefore, advocated among others, that the Nigeria capital market be developed and further expanded in order for greater global economic integration, so as to allow for free flow of portfolio investment in the country. More so, foreign direct investments with labour friendly technologies should be encouraged in the country as this type of FDI has the capacity of employment more local workers

ANALYSIS OF SOME SELECTED MACROECONOMIC VARIABLES AND BALANCE OF PAYMENT DISEQUILIBRIUM IN NIGERIA
The primary objective of this research was to investigate a few specific macroeconomic issues and the Nigerian payments imbalance. The main aim and objective of this study is to evaluate the short and medium term connection among select macroeconomic parameters and imbalance in Nigerian's balance of payments. The National Bureau of Statistics and the CBN statistics bulletin were used in the compilation of the time series data for the years 1986 to 2021. The ARDL technique to co-integration and error correction mechanism method was used to analyze the data. Our Wald bound test revealed a significant long-term association between Nigeria's FDI, crude oil prices, currency rates, interest rates, and its total debt (NGD). According to results of the Error Correction Model, in the short term Nigeria's balance of payments is expected to be negatively affected by selected macro factors. If the selected macroeconomic factors can be controlled effectively, the research came to the conclusion that the Nigerian economy will continue to produce favorable Balance of Payments yearly. The study's findings suggest that the government should spend more money reviving all faltering industries, assisting indigenous companies, promoting locally produced commodities, and encouraging exports of manufactured or finished goods. Additionally, the country should limit its reliance on non-essential foreign goods and services

Assessing the Currency Redesign Policy, Deviant Behaviour of Employees and Customers of Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria
The currency redesign policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria, introduced and enforced between 2022-2023, has generated controversies and scholarly conversations among public policy analysts and academics consequent upon the negative consequences. We draw on the frustration-aggression theory and explored the links between the currency redesign policy and deviant behaviour of customers and employees of Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) in Nigeria. In this paper, we employed online survey and selected a sample of 319 research subjects using purposive sampling and snowball sampling procedures through digital platforms and emails. We collected data with a structured questionnaire from 319 respondents, consisting of 73 employees and 246 customers of DMBs. The data are analysed with the application of t-test, regression analysis, Eta-Square and Partial Lest Squares Regression with structural equation modelling. The study demonstrated that bank employees and customers exhibited various forms of dysfunctional behaviour as responses to the pervasive cash crunch due to the currency swap policy and related sweeping challenges confronting the various sectors of the economy. We advanced recommendations and offer penetrating insights into management scholarship, business-social psychology and economic policy implications for financial institutions and monetary authorities
INTEREST RATE, EXCHANGE, RATE AND INFLATON IN NIGERIA: AN ECONOMETRIC APPROACH
This study examined the relationship between interest rate, exchange rate and inflation in Nigeria. Data for the study were obtained from world banks world development indicators 2022. The unit root of the model that was generated was examined by using the Augmented Dickey Fuller (ADF) approach for the research. The results of the ADF unit root test showed that the variables displayed a variety of integrated orders. This was discovered as a result of the test's conclusion. This suggests that certain variables displayed stationarity at level I(0), whereas others reached stationarity after passing through initial discrepancies at level I(1). The Auto-regressive Distributive Lag model was used in the current investigation to investigate whether or not there is a connection that exists over the course of time between interest rates, exchange rates, and inflation. It has been shown that the real interest rate has a statistically significant inverse relationship with inflation in both the longrun and the short-run, namely within the current year period. This correlation holds true for both the long-run and the short-run. During the course of the current year, the lending interest rate exhibited a positive and statistically significant link with inflation in both the long-term and shortterm time periods. In addition, based on the link between the interest rate on deposits and inflation, we may deduce that the interest rate on deposits has a positive influence, although one that is statistically insignificant, on inflation during the short-term period of the year before. There is an inverse relationship between currency exchange rates and inflation in the short term, which holds true for both the current year and the year before it. It has been recommended, amongst other suggestions that the Central Bank of Nigeria should continue to raise the interest rate as a measure to curb the growing trend of inflation. This advice was made in light of the fact that the CBN is tasked with preventing inflatio
IMPACT OF GOVERNMENT POLICIES ON THE SUCCESS OF TOURISM ENTREPRENEURS IN NIGERIAN COMMUNITIES: A STUDY OF OBUDU CATTLE RANCH AREA IN CROSS RIVER STATE. NIGERIA
This study examines the impact of government policies on the success of tourism entrepreneurs in the Obudu Cattle Ranch area of Cross River State, Nigeria. Guided by the Policy Implementation Theory, it focuses on three key policy dimensions: financial support, infrastructure development, and security and safety. A descriptive survey design was employed, with data collected from 150 tourism entrepreneurs through structured open-ended questionnaires. Using multiple regression analysis, the findings revealed that infrastructure development policies had the most significant positive impact on entrepreneurial success (B = 0.672, β = 0.728, p < .001), highlighting the importance of improved facilities and services in driving tourism growth. In contrast, financial support (B = -0.065, p = 0.247) and security and safety policies (B = -0.100, p = 0.276) showed negative but statistically insignificant impact. The study concludes that while government policies are crucial to tourism development, there is a need to improve the accessibility and implementation of financial and safety initiatives. Recommendations include enhancing tourism-specific financial schemes, investing in infrastructure through public-private partnerships, and strengthening security frameworks. These measures will foster a more conducive environment for tourism entrepreneurship, boost investor confidence, and promote sustainable growth in Nigeria’s tourism sector, particularly in the Obudu regio
