Performance Assessment of Irrigation: A Case from Nepal-Asia
Get PDFPurpose: The overall objective of the research was to conduct the performance assessment of Lipe Khola Baseri Irrigation Sub Project of Okhaldhunga district with specific objective to analyze structural performance of physical structure and institutional performance of Water Users' Association through water use activities, structure control activities and organizational activities of the system to examine the effect of Irrigation Project on change in cropping intensity, cropping pattern, crop yield and productivity of project area..
Design/Methodology/Approach: To meet the above goals essential and optional information were gathered. Family review, key sources meets, and centered bunch conversation were completed to gather the essential information in the review and optional information were gathered through project-related archives, reports, sites, distributions, and diary articles.
Findings/Result: The system had no water right problem. Adequate water was available at the system. Rotational water distribution system was used for equitable water distribution from head to tail. The system was designed for conveying 60 1ps of water throughout the system to irrigate 30 hectare land. The operation and maintenance of the system was done collectively as per the rules and regulation. The decision-making and conflict resolution of WUA was established satisfactory but weak in resource mobilization. Training was fruitful for management of system and needs further training on agricultural advancement. The crop yield of monsoon season remained unchanged while the winter and spring crop yield of the project area has increased by around 10%. The cropping intensity before the project was 163%, which has increased to 173.33% after the project but still it does not meet the target 197%, set by the project.
The project construction ensures the sufficient water for irrigation but this does not change the cropping pattern of the farmers. Farmers of the project area are practicing the old method of farming. They use local seeds and grow traditional crops. Involvement of the agricultural institution in project area is essential for achieving the project objectives.
Originality/Value: This study helps policymakers and local level government to assure construction with compliance of standards. It makes it easier for policymakers to incorporate the development needs without compromising quality through regulatory provision.

A Literature Review on Prediction of Chronic Diseases using Machine Learning Techniques
Get PDFBackground/ Purpose: Reviewing of the various work and literature in the proposed areas will help in developing a strong foundation of the domain on which the research is planned. The reason forth for the literature review is to become familiar in the health care domain. Since the area selected is the health care domain, the recent literature review is carried out as it is very important.
Objective: A strong background on health care domain is developed and a new problem which is not addressed is discussed. The gaps in the research area are identified. A new solution for solving the problem is designed and developed.
Design/Methodology: This work has adapted secondary source of data which is mainly journals, articles and review comments. The relevant literature is selected and a detailed study is conducted. This has helped in drafting the problem statement.
Findings/Results: The finding and drawbacks of all the recent work are well studied. The reason for the gap is also well studied and the results of each work are also well analyzed.
Research Limitations: A detailed study done on the chronic diseases and its impact has helped to open up the importance of studying about comorbid diseases. The limitations of various machine learning algorithms are also studied.
Originality/Value: This paper aims at studying the relevant existing literature that includes research journals, conference papers, technical book chapter and few web sources. All the papers selected were relevant to the proposed work and all papers are recent and from well reputed publisher. The papers are cited by many authors.

Transcending Borders: Cultural integration and hybridization in the select works of Amitav Ghosh – A Systematic Review
No full textPurpose: The topic chosen for the study centers on the themes of Cultural Integration and Hybridization as illustrated in Amitav Ghosh's post-modern novels. The term ‘postmodernism’ refers to a broad movement that came into being during the latter part of the twentieth century. This movement came after modernity and after modernism faced its decline, when it comes to postmodernism, there is a rise and a fall in every aspect of knowledge and existence. It was an era of an uprising, whether it is literary work, philosophy, or science. Postcolonial literature, particularly novels, explore fundamental difficulties that people face, such as the blending of many cultures, hybridity, and the search for one's own identity. The purpose of this study is to investigate how these topics are handled in the works of fiction by the authors selected for this study. A detailed reading of a few of Amitav Ghosh’s works reveals the impact of racial discrimination, as well as the tyranny of colonial rule. His writings have achieved appreciation on a global level, which means that they are not limited by political, geographical, or social borders.
Design: A review of Literature is done by collecting information from secondary sources such as peer-reviewed journals, National and International Publications, internet sources, and research sources like Google Scholar, Research Gate, SSRN, Elsevier, Academia, and Shodhganga are used for identifying the research gap. To highlight the key aspects of the research ABCD analysis is used. Data is acquired from research journals, doctoral theses, scholarly articles, and websites to carry out the research that has been proposed. Concentrating on the keywords History, Transcending Borders, culture, Integration, and Hybridity of the chosen topic, the methodology used depends mostly on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting previous knowledge. The textual analysis and comparative method will be used in the methodology. There will be a close reading of the select works of Ghosh followed by discussions on related issues. Writing research papers and participating in conferences on the subject are also aimed at. While conducting the analyses of the study, APA Manual has been followed to adhere to its requirements.
Findings: It has been decided, after looking through a large number of publications, including articles, books, and theses, that the aim of the study could be centered on Cultural Integration and Hybridization in the select works of Amitav Ghosh. It’s proved that Cultural Integration and Hybridity are not a static existence; they differ from one person to the next, one area to the next, one culture to the next, and one nation to the next in any situation. A genuine social and human relationship developed and sustained with the real dignity of humanity is the means to prevent the problems and difficulties of social conflicts. The primary emphasis of the research will be placed on cultural integration and hybridity as it relates to chosen works by Ghosh. The study intends to take review the literature on the subject and will probe in detail the issue under consideration.
Originality: The proposed study focuses primarily on the role that cultural integration and hybridity crucial role in the development of identity, the study that is planned to be carried out will be an original one. Nations exclude and include individuals and societies. The study of Amitav Ghosh's writings regarding migration, culture, and hybridity concerning a person's sense of his/her own identity focuses on the stages that are involved in the construction of identities within a postcolonial context.

Digital Marketing Strategy in Admitting New Students during COVID 19 in Maritime Educational Institutions-An Empirical Study
No full textPurpose: The goal of this study is to determine how digital marketing affected student enrollment at maritime educational institutions in the year COVID 19.
Design/Methodology/approach: Students at Chennai's marine educational institutions made up the target demographic. Data gathered from 96 students using an electronic questionnaire.
Findings: Results showed that digital marketing is positively related to students' admission to the business administration degree.
Practical Implications: This study has specific implications for colleges that will help them create a digital marketing strategy to help them admit more students to their business administration programmes during COVID 19. In order to make it easier for students to enroll in maritime education, it offers advice for maritime educational institutions on how to execute digital marketing extremely efficiently.
Originality/Value: This paper makes a significant literary addition to the field of digital marketing. It is distinctive in that it incorporates the use of various marketing techniques with pupils, strengthening the maritime education in the process.

India’s Digital Payment Landscape – An Analysis
Get PDFPurpose: The Indian payments sector is undergoing far reaching changes, with digital payments capturing a sizable slice of the cake in recent years. The changes began from a fully cash economy to a less-paper-currency system. The Reserve Bank of India and its nodal agencies are working hard to make the digital India goal, a reality. Nearly one billion cards and more than two billion Prepaid Payment Instruments (PPI) such as online wallets, mobile applications, e-wallets, and digital payment modalities have pushed India into one of the world’s fastest growing and largest digital payment ecosystem. In fact, an exponential increase in internet infrastructure boosted e-commerce. Unified Payment Interface, popularly known as UPI, is regarded as a revolutionary payment solution in the market for facilitating retail digital payments. The main objective of this paper is to identify innovations in India’s digital payment landscape in a phased manner. While doing so, it also analyses the payment facilitating industry by applying PESTEL model to identify political, economic, technological, environmental and legal factors.
Design/Methodology/Approach: This study examines India's digital payment landscape in terms of its gradual progress. Using the PESTEL model, it also analyses external factors that contribute to a less cash economy. Secondary sources were used to gather data for the study, which included reports, circulars, rules, and statements made by the Reserve Bank of India and other relevant organisations.
Findings/Results: According to the study, India's digital payment segment has seen tremendous success since the implementation of UPI by the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) in 2016. The government's Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) programme enabled the country to achieve financial inclusion of all citizens having access to banking services. Government legislation, regulator intent, social behaviour, increased smartphone usage, lower internet costs, and others significantly impacted the growth of the digital payment industry by ensuring secure, faster, cost-effective, and secure payment solutions.
Originality/Value: This study examines the digital payment industry in India using the PESTEL methodology, which allows us to see the industry from all sides.

Preventing Stress, Improving Productivity: A Case Study on Stress Management Policies of TCS and Infosys
Get PDFPurpose: Stress is the body’s physical or mental reaction to adversity. It has become more prevalent because of dynamic social factors and changing lifestyle demands. Physical, mental, and behavioural changes occur as physiological responses to an external condition. Stress is a part of everyone’s life, and IT professionals are no exception. Individuals working in the information technology field are under more stress because they are target-driven and expected to deliver results. As technology and new-age facilities become more widely available, this pressure will increase. As a result, the industry has confronted the issue rather than avoided it. It is a positive sign because it could add significant value to the industry. This paper has attempted to study the stress management strategies adopted by TCS and Infosys.
Methodology: To meet the objective of the paper, secondary sources of data which included books, journals, articles, Google Scholar, newspapers and websites are used.
Findings: According to the findings, Infosys and TCS have well-designed coping strategies at the organisational level. Strong management strategies are also likely to reduce unhealthy stress in both TCS and Infosys by increasing employee autonomy, training, working environment, time frames, career development, and support networks.
Originality/Value: This paper attempts to study the best practices adopted by TCS and Infosys' in stress management using secondary data. This research will enable the management of both TCS and Infosys to redesign their policies and strategies to reduce the existing high employee attrition and encourage productivity improvement in the organization. Also, the study will enable the readers, researchers and practitioners (HR Managers) to have a professional approach in addressing the critical issue of employee attrition focusing on stress management.

The goal of this study is to look into how to work attachment affects the relationship between employee perceptions of socially responsible acts and managerial commitment.
Methodology: This research article utilizes secondary data from research, journal papers, and scholarly research articles on the research subject area. This study focused on the domains which are influenced by the corporate sector's efforts in ethical business practices. The goal is to learn what employees think about their organization’s corporate social sustainability initiatives.
Findings: CSR has a significant influence on employee work engagement, according to the study's findings, corporate so8cial responsibility has the ability to enhance employee attitudes and behaviors while also helping businesses succeed, making it a win scenario. As a result, firms should prioritize CSR programs in order to benefit their workforce. Furthermore, four elements of CSR must be considered equally: economic, legal, ethical, and discretionary duties. Each dimension has an unavoidable ramification. The findings reveal that philanthropic responsibility has an impact on work attitudes, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment, even when it is not directly tied to employees, and that these elements operate as crucial mediators between CSR perception and employee behaviors. As a result, when engaging in CSR activities, corporations should consider employee participation levels. The purpose of this study is to establish a paradigm for better understanding the effect of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on workers’ attitudes and behaviors at job.
Practical implications: According to the findings, companies that engage in corporate sustainability initiatives have a useful impact on employees’ attitudes toward the company, resulting in higher levels of organizational belonging and job satisfaction, which is likely to boost productivity.
Originality/ Value: The research will help companies structure their CSR activities so that they have a balanced impact across multiple locations, as well as assess employee attitudes toward CSR processes.

Real-Time Customer Satisfaction Analysis using Facial Expressions and Head Pose Estimation
Get PDFBackground/Purpose: Quantification of consumer interest is an interesting, innovative, and promising trend in marketing research. For example, an approach for a salesperson is to observe consumer behaviour during the shopping phase and then recall his interest. However, the salesperson needs unique skills because every person may interpret their behaviour in a different manner. The purpose of this research is to track client interest based on head pose positioning and facial expression recognition.
Objective: We are going to develop a quantifiable system for measuring customer interest. This system recognizes the important facial expression and then processes current client photos and does not save them for later processing.
Design/Methodology/Approach: The work describes a deep learning-based system for observing customer actions, focusing on interest identification. The suggested approach determines client attention by estimating head posture. The system monitors facial expressions and reports customer interest. The Viola and Jones algorithms are utilized to trim the facial image.
Findings/Results: The proposed method identifies frontal face postures, then segments facial mechanisms that are critical for facial expression identification and creating an iconized face image. Finally, the obtained values of the resulting image are merged with the original one to analyze facial emotions.
Conclusion: This method combines local part-based features with holistic facial information. The obtained results demonstrate the potential to use the proposed architecture as it is efficient and works in real-time.

Additionally, learn about several elements that will be crucial for the progress of Indian e-commerce in the future. A SWOC analysis is done for a deeper understanding of the industry. In this study, we discovered that overall e-commerce in India, an emerging sector, will grow rapidly in the years to come.
Design/Methodology/Approach: The case contributes to the SWOC analysis of the current situation of the E-Commerce sector. The study is derived from secondary data from sources like literature, case studies, and books.
Findings/Result: In order to increase customer engagement and foster familiarity and trust, e-commerce businesses are attempting to strengthen their supply chain and delivery capabilities. Additionally, they are incorporating technology to provide a customized purchasing experience. The sellers may intensify organic traffic of customers and also sales with e-commerce blogging content. They will be able to optimize content to increase traffic and sales without consuming to spend additional money by doing anything from creating videos to writing blog posts. Additionally, they will be able to monetize those visitors with retargeting advertisements in addition to attracting traffic naturally through content production.
