The quality of life is the general well-being of individuals and societies. It includes not only wealth and employment but also the built environment, physical, and mental health, education, recreation and leisure time, and social belonging. According to WHO Health is “astate of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely an absence ofdisease and infirmity” (1948). The ultimate goal for the people 2010 decade was to improvethe quality of life without any disease and to increase the lifespan with the healthy life. Thequality of life is the product of the interplay among social, health, economic and environmental conditions which affect human and social development (Ontario SocialDevelopment council, 1997). Illnesses are classified as either acute or chronic. An acuteillness lasts for a short period of time and may go away without any intervention theassistance of medication, and or surgery. A chronic illness is an illness that lasts for a verylong time and usually cannot be cured completely. Chronic illness has a direct impact onQuality of Life. Chronic illness or condition such as heart decease, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity are among the most common, costly and preventableof all health problems. The major risk factors for chronic illness are an unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, and tensionand habits. Additionally increased Blood pressure and obesity may contribute to chronicillness. Individuals affected by poverty may be more likely to develop a chronic illness sinceaccess to health services may be difficult. The main aim of this research paper is to know theQuality of life among working women with High Blood pressure. And the objectives are a)To identify the quality of life of the working women and b) impact on the health and themanagement of the physical life. Both primary and secondary data are used in this research. 50 respondents from Mangaluru taluk were identified randomly and the Research Design willbe Exploratory in nature

Interconnecting Theory A and ABC Model of Organizational Research Performance

    Get PDF
The higher education and research institutions have an objective of creating new knowledge continuously using their people as resources and success of the organizations depend on how much new knowledge they have created during a given period of time. A simple measurement system for calculating annual research index of organizations namely ABC model has been developed by Aithal P. S. and Suresh Kumar during 2016. As per this model, the annual research performance can be determined by knowing the research index of the institution/ individuals and is calculated by considering the total number of research publications during that period. Application of the theory of organizational performance namely ‘Theory A’ can improve research productivity of educational institutions. This is a management strategy which believes in delivering target as responsibility, feeling of creativity and contribution for motivation, identifying with the organization as commitmentand accountability as a hallmark of efficiency. In this paper, we have interconnected Theory A of organization performance with ABC model of research productivity in order to enhance research productivity of the organizations.    Find Crossref DOI in Crossref Search website: 10.47992/IJMTS.2581.6012.000

Man has succeeded very much in going outside of himself and has made many achievements. He has travelled through the space, found out many machines, many stars etc.But man has not succeeded as he must have done in one field except a very few who have really searched within and transformed themselves and others into great self-realised,contented human beings, who are not moved by the pleasures and pains of life The epic character Nachikethas is a best example of this field’s best motivator.India’s epics are the greatest recorded epics known to man.It has been said that nothing exists that cannot be found in the epics of India. Bhagavat Geetha is the song of God.This literature continues to enchant readers and scholars the world over. This paper is an effort to search in a very limited way the spirit of this culture and its treasures.I bow down to the great power which is the power behind the entire existence. This power is smaller than the smallest and bigger than the biggest. Symbology is very common in all the ancient literature and epics. This paper is an effort to inculcate more interest in the present generation about the beauty and highly esteemed principles and values of the characters of the epics and the reality of life

Factor Analysis based on ABCD Framework on Recently Announced New Research Indices

Research indices are used to measure the ability of a researcher and quality of research publications for comparison of research contribution made in a given area/subject. Researchindices generally use the number of research publications and the number of citations thepapers published by an author during a given observation period. There are a number ofresearch indices commonly used to assess the ability and hence the quantity of research alongwith the quality of a research publication. Research indices are calculated based on eithercitation values of research publications of a research scholar or the number of research paperspublished by a research scholar for a given period. Apart from generally used citation indiceslike H-index, i10-index, G-index, and based on argument on whycertain researchpublications do not attract citations initially for some years, it is found that the best method ofidentifying the contribution to research is calculating the annual research index for an authorby considering the annual research publications. Recently, we have suggested some of thenew research indices used for calculating research productivity of individuals as well as ateam of people in an organization which include ARP-Index – (Annual Research PublicationIndex), RC-Index – (Research Continuation Index), RE-Index (Research expansion Index),Project Productivity Index, and Cost Index. In this paper, we have analysed the affectingfactors on these indices by considering four determinant issues which include researchorganization, researcher, funding agency, and industry using objectives, productivity, andcost as three key parameters. The various factors affecting these newly proposed researchindices are discussed by considering their advantages, benefits, constraints, anddisadvantages

    No full text
Many developing countries are facing a crisis in human health resources due to a critical shortage of health workers. Despite of many trained health care professionals our health caresystem is struggling to provide optimum services to the patients. Gaps still exist with respect to patient care, which are unevenly delivered. The data collected from 228 subjects reveals thatonly 7.01% of the subjects have received counseling always, 59.65% think that counselingshould be given and only 41.66% are satisfied with current health care system while 56.57% arenot satisfied. Our study shows that there is a huge burden on health care professionals due to ahigh number of the patient load which leads to the hindrancein optimum patient care and finallyleads to the degradation in the quality of health care services. Now time has approached whenthe term task shifting should be taken seriously especially in the health care sectors. Pharmacists,an ignored profession in the health care sector have a crucial role for optimum patient care. It isthe demand of the scenario that pharmacist should be taken as a key role player between thepatient and prescriber. A proper communication between the patient and prescriber can be established only if all health care professionals will start working to assist each other not tocompete with each other

Learner centred education through appropriate methodologies facilitates effective learning as teaching-learning modalities of higher education are considered to be relevant to the learnergroup. Curriculum delivery and pedagogy should incorporate multitude of learningexperiences and innovative learning methodologies through adoption of technology. Plentyof resources external to the curriculum come into use, which offer valuable learningexperiences. Augmentation of resources for teaching-learning process would enhance thequality of learning. The role of the institution is to identify and provide such experiencesusing these resources so as to improve their learning through the alround learningopportunities available to them. Institutional strategy to nurture critical thinking, creativityand scientific temper among the students is to transform them into lifelong learners andinnovators. Teaching-learning process should be mutually complementary where both theteacher and the taught gain as a result of the diversity of learning experiences. This paperdiscusses how technology adoption practices and augmentation of resources contribute tolearning in a higher education institution

India is the fastest growing economy in the world. It is also the seventh largest economy in theworld by GDP measure and the second largest in terms of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). Thedigital Indian plan was a major step by the government in India to bring all segments intopurview. It has a three pronged agenda of providing infrastructure, governance and digitalempowerment to every citizen. This initiative will transform the economy of the nation and makeit among the top seven countries globally to go completely digital. But, inherently this exercisewas a critical need to get the vast population and the informal sector into the folds ofaccountability and get statistics on the informal economy in India. Although, there is no accuratefigure defined as BOP for the Indian sector by the government statistical organizations, thebelow poverty line statistics published by the government look at people living on even less than$ 0.45 per day. Such being the socio economic situation with the thrust on a lot of developmentalmeasures and poverty alleviation methods, there has been a significant improvement inemployment opportunities and as per some statistics we have seen a large number of householdsmoving out of dire poverty. The importance of these digitization efforts is planned economic andsocietal growth triggered by a massive adoption of digital technologies. This paper studies thevarious action plans in digitization and their impact on the BOP sector in India
