A Comprehensive Analysis of Top Indian Cosmetic Company : LAKME
No full textLakme is one of the leading cosmetic brands with headquarters in Mumbai, India, ownedpresently by Unilever. The idea of establishing Lakme in the year 1952 surged into existencebecause Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru came to know that Indian women were splurgingon imported cosmetics and spending precious foreign exchange on beauty products. In thiscase, he requested JRD Tata to start the beauty sector in India. Lakme then became a100%affiliate of Tata Oil Mills (TOMCO), a part of the TATA group. Later it became a uniquecompany as it goes by its tagline ‘Lakme Reinvent’ after it has been acquired by HindustanUnilever, ‘On Top of the World’ which now continuously innovates and offers a wide varietyof cosmetics of the world class, skincare product, and beauty salons to the customers aroundthe world. This article illustrates different elements of the organization, its company sections,marketing strategies, corporate structure, management, and structure operations whileproviding beauty and wellness services. Social Media – Effects on the Psychological Health of Adolescence
No full textSocial media seems to play an imperative part of people lives around the world. The adolescence use Facebook, YouTube, Google, and many others social media and which will make them full busy all the time and to waste their more productive time which can be utilized in doing physical exercise, their school education and studies, and to developing hidden talent. Adolescents are the future citizens and have to focus on their future goal. The research study focuses on the psychological health of the adolescence based on social media which lead to bring change in their behaviour. Adolescence period begins with the physiologically puberty and ends with adult identity. The adolescence starts during the period between 13 years to 19 years. The period of adolescence is considered as crucial and significant period of an individual’s life. Psychologically, adolescence is the period when the individual becomes integrated into society. It also includes profound intellectual changes. The main aim of this research study is to understand the impact of the social media on the psychological health of adolescences and the objectives are; to understand the positive and negative effects of social media, and also to assess the effect of social media on their psychological health. The sample size of the study includes 50 respondents of age 13 to 19 years from Mangalore Taluk. The sample was selected through the random sample method. The findings of the study say 96% of the adolescents are more adventurous, 34% of the rarely disturbing thoughts, 50% not at all become preoccupied, 20% of them have a behavioural difference like anger, and 38% are using social media for enjoyments
Institutionalized Elderly Women-Issues & Concerns
No full textThe elderly not only face the problem of physical changes but also undergo emotional, psychological and social changes. Some individuals cope with these changes effectively but others will experience extreme frustration and mental agony. The family members should understand the psychosocial changes and stresses experienced by the elderly and fosters necessary care and concern to them. The biological age and chronological age are closely related but will not correlate. As the age advances, the health problems tend to increase with age and these problems also depend on economic condition and family and social support system. The main objective of this investigation is to study the plight of the elderly women in the institutional settings with the following broad objectives: To make a study of personal profile of the respondents; To understand the living arrangements of the elderly women in the institutions; To assess the extent of family relationship as well as the psychological condition of the respondents; To know and understand the social status of the elderly women in the institutions; and to study the coping patterns of elderly women. Total 80 respondents were interviewed from four care homes in the Udupi District through simple random sampling method. The study reveals that majority of the respondents are from rural area and economically poor status. They suffer from depression since they lack psychological and emotional support. They express their emotions by getting short tempered and irritable. Some try to cope up with indulging themselves more with religious activities like prayer and meditation. The healthy interaction in an institution will help in getting integration and healthy bond with other inmates. Typically, adolescents exercise their independence by questioning and sometimes by breaking rules. Parents and teachers must play a major role in supporting & influencing the children positively by their ethical & appropriate approaches. Teachers in school as well as parent at home, often wonder how to disciple a child and to mould their behaviour so to bring up the child with virtues. Although some children truly have challenging behaviours regardless of what strategies to try, many children just need to havethe adults in their lives make changes in the way they react, respond, or interact with them. It is also a great responsibility of the teacher in school to have positive approach towards students. If not there are possibilities in change of behaviour among students & leads to several problems. For example, frequent episodes of fighting, scholastic backwardness, substance abuse; antisocial or institutional activities, destructive behaviour and change in attitude in students are much more significant than isolated episodes of the same activities. Other warning signs include deterioration of performance at school and running away from home. This research paper’s aim is the teacher-students relationship and its impact on the behaviour of High school students. The objectives are to know the teachers attitudes both positive and negative towards students and its impact to bring positive as well as negative behaviour change in the students. The study has reported that students are often facing emotional problems by the negative approach of the teachers. A cross sectional study was conducted with simple random sampling technique among 416 Heads of the academic departments in a college, 43 Dean/Principals of the colleges and 03 Vice Chancellors of the universities in Health sciences institutes of Maharashtra state during August, 2019 to December, 2019.The data analysis SPSS and statistical test Kendall’s W were used. Study concluded that role of the Government (and its agencies) and Council regulations and guidelines are the main influencing factors for delivering the role of academic leaders.
