Mustansir Hussian Tarar is among the prominent literary figures of the Urdu literature. He is primarily known for his travelogues but he has proved himself as a renowned novelist. His novels ‘Bahaao’ ‘Raakh’ and ‘Khass o Khashaak Zamanay’ represent the historical, social and cultural life of the Indian Subcontinent. ‘Ae Ghazaal e Shab’ was published by Sang-e-Meel Publications in 2013. It is centred on the financial problems of those Pakistanis who go abroad in search of employment. He has craftily presented their separation from the homeland the pangs of immigrants who leave their country for good. Zaheer-ud-Din, Mustafa-ul-Islam and Sardar Qalib have represented this agony of separation from the homeland. Another striking theme on which the story is based the rise and fall of Marxism. For a long time, the ideology and thoughts of Marxism enchanted the world. The Red Revolution of Russia infused a new spirit to the laborers, poor and the exploited of the world. Socialism was treated like a holy scripture which had a message of freedom for the poor and had the bad news for the rich and the capitalists. Soon the charm of Marxism was over and the world was again in the hands of Capitalism. Those who accepted Marxism as a code of life and conduct were left stranded.
