This research article is about the contributions of the Maulvi Abdul Haq in the field of research and editing. No doubt he was a remarkable researcher, linguist, Lexicographer and editor in his age. He edited and published many ancient texts of old Urdu like Sub Rus, Qutub Mushtari , Mairajul Aashaqeen, Darya-e-Lataft. He also arranged valuable lexicon as well. This article reflects his great devotion to Urdu Literature

This article deals with the discourse analysis. Basically it is about the poetics of Urdu literature. The main Stream or tradition of Urdu literature works with certain poetics. After the partition, this main stream was apparently divided in to two parts: Pakistani Urdu literature and Indian Urdu literature. But the main question with this article arises is that weather it was possible to divide this main stream or tradition or not. The paper argues that the poetics is no where divide able. Urdu literature written in India after partition has no different poetics to the Urdu literature written in Pakistan

In the annals of literary history of Pakistan, Perveen Shakir shines like a radiant star. Her poetry is mostly the expression of felt emotions and personal experiences. Sensuality is the characteristic quality of her poetry. Her romantic poems and ghazals stirred the sentiments of the readers, yet many scientific phenomena can be traced out from her poetry. Although procedures of measuring and evaluating the scientific data and a piece of poetry are widely different yet thoughts, imaginations, observations experimentations and conclusions are common in both science and poetry.Her poetry not only bears the traces of her personality, subtle emotions and feelings but different scientific phenomena such as Dispersion of Light, Spectrum, Mirror, Image, Reflection and Refraction of Light, Echo, Mirage, Planets, Stars, Galaxy, Blood Circulatory System, Pollination, Antidots, Moisture, Transportation System of Plants, Isotopes, Neutrons, Radioactive Elements, Chain Reactions, Atmospheric Pressure, Decomposition amp; Diffusion etc have also been touched upon in a poetic version. The paper argues with different examples of scientific approach in her poetry

Existentialism became prominent especially after World War I and II. In the sub-continent, the political, social and historical conditions during the age of Ghalib were almost are same and those when existentialism was becoming a strong philosophical movement in Europe. Since Ghalib was a mature and sensitive artist and he had a vision of the future, it should be no surprise that his poetry contains elements of existentialism. In fact, the recognition of the elements of existentialism in the poetry of Ghalib may help in the proper understanding of the philosophy of existentialism itself. Ghalib's verses provide an effective, poetic interpretation of the complex philosophy of existentialism
A Comparative Analysis of the Scholastic Achievement of the Students of Government and Private Secondary Schools in English and Urdu Prose
This paper is based on a study conducted in 2007 in order to have an analysis of the scholastic achievement of the students of government and private schools in the subject of English and Urdu prose in Tehsil Arifwala (Punjab, Pakistan). The total sample for the study was 280 which was randomly selected. An achievement test was developed for the students. The test was based on multiple choice items, words meanings, matching columns, fill in the blanks and true false statements. The collected data were analyzed by using the statistical techniques of arithmetic means, standard deviation, percentage, z test and co-efficient of correlation. The results of the study showed that overall performance of private schools was better than that of students of government schools. The performance of female students was better in English prose than that of male students. The performance of male students was better in Urdu prose than that of female students
Effects of Teacher Training on English Language Teaching
The notion of good teaching is associated with theorizing about what good teaching might represent. Teachers’ concept about language learning effects their teaching methodology and that they do in class to teach a language. The twentieth century has witnessed the demand of professional teachers who, besides having subject knowledge, must be equipped with professional ethics and pedagogical skills to be an effective teacher. This study is specifically aimed at analyzing the effects of training on English language teachers teaching at intermediate level. This research was carried out at two colleges in Lahore. The paper will demonstrate that teacher training has positive effects on teaching methodology, techniques and attitude of the English teachers. The paper will conclude that to maintain good standard in English language teaching, teacher training can play an effective role at college level

This is a research study about the contribution of a literary journal "Afkar" in promotion of the tradition of literary auto biographies. The auto biographies of Akhtar Hussain Raipuri, Begum Hamida Akhtar Hussain, Khalique Ibrahim Khalique, Ada Jaafari, Sibte Hassan Ebadat Baralvi and other man of latter were firstly published in this journal in different episode. So it is remarkable that no literary Journal other than 'Afkar' Karachi published the auto biographies to promote this genre. This article reflects the different angles of this contribution

Western influence on Urdu literature is manifold. Not only modern Urdu Criticism is heavily influenced by western thought and western critical tradition but historiography and Tazkiraz (old forms of Urdu criticism) also came under influence of said influence. The question of the validity of the critical significance of Tazkiraz was first raised by Garcein Dettasi, a French orientalist. Whole following discourse on Tazkiraz revolves around the points raised by Dettasi, sometimes in agreement and at times in defiance. This discourse is in spirit colonial: ignores or represses the system of cultural values, Tazkiras were feeding upon for centuries. This article examines the repercussions of colonial discourse on Tazkiras and seeks to establish that Tazkiras are manifestation of Eastern Poetics, constituted by classical Arabic, Persian and Sanskrit critical systems
