    The term Stylistic is translated in Urdu as Aslobiyat. In this article, the art of aslobiyat has been discussed in detail. Aslobiyat means the linguistic study of a piece of literature. It discusses the content in focus with reference to writer`s diction, his use of formal and colloquial idiom, new phrases, similes and metaphors, etc. Basically, Aslobiyat is a dimension of Style. Here, in this article, the history and development of Aslobiyat in English literature alongside with Urdu have been considered at length. Alongside, its basic ingredients and tools have also been discussed.

    Creative writings are the jewels of Literary Treasure and critics like Wordsworth believed that creative writings should not be criticized by critiques. Even west believes that creation is superior to translation. No doubt, but no one can deny the importance of translations. In fact translations open the doors of other languages and introduce us to the new worlds of literature. Literary Journals are the best source of publication of translations. From Twentieth Century and on wards Urdu Literary Journals, always give prominence to every sort of translation. “Angarey Multan” is one of them. Angarey started its publication in January 2003.     Development of Noun Inflectional Morphology in Children Acquiring Urdu and Punjabi

    The present research assesses the noun inflectional acquisition of children acquiring Urdu and Punjabi as 1st Language. A total of 36 bilingual children age ranged 3.0 – 6.0, divided into six groups, participated in this study. Their acquisition of noun inflectional morphology which includes gender, number and case categories was judged through picture description task. The results of all these three grammatical categories of these bilingual children reveal that the acquisition of Urdu and Punjabi noun inflectional morphology is a gradual process not an instant one which follows overgeneralization of different sorts. This acquisition is better acquired with advance age, more exposure and frequency. The results are in line with the constructivists’ ideas of inflectional acquisition

    Identification of Gendered Discourses in a Fictional Text with a special focus on Gender Construal in Our Lady of Alice Bhatti

    This research paper attempts to study the construal of gender by identifying different gendered discourses in the novel, Our Lady of Alice Bhatti. The present study draws on the interpretative framework of Sunderland (2004) for the identification of gendered discourses permeating a fictional text. Our Lady of Alice Bhatti by Muhammad Hanif is a fascinating work of fiction that narrates the story of a Christian nurse and her tumultuous and impoverished journey from a janitor’s daughter to a married woman, assuming healing powers to cure diseased people in a Christian Hospital of Karachi, until her life is cut short by none other than her own husband. The present study aims to identify myriad of gendered discourses by taking into account the linguistic traces, through a systematic and principled analysis of selected extracts. This paper primarily seeks to reveal the subtle and implicit workings of discursive means, reflected and constituted, in myriad of gendered discourses by carrying out a feminist critical discourse analysis for better understanding of varied forms of patriarchal practices and structures, aimed at subjugating and oppressing women. The findings indicate that by identifying multitude of dominant and contesting discourses with a critical focus on the selected extracts, the meticulous construal of gender in the fictional narrative can be analysed in the different overriding and contesting discourses of the novel, to reveal the prevalence of patriarchal dominance and the resistant feminist struggle, respectively

    Due to the political influence of British people on the sub-continent there started the effect western civilization. In literature new forms emerged. Along with poetry, essay writing, history and journalism also found their way. With the translation of western literature the Indian society imbed the quality of western literature come to know about it. Due to this literature of sub-continent start moving towards writing in the domain of realism. The change of the subject in the literature and new forms the traditional imaginative story telling got replaced with the novel. On the literary seen movement propagated by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan could not be ignored. The foundation stone of Urdu novel is also related to movement of Sir Syed in which Deputy Nazir Ahmad and his novel are also prominent. In the age of Sir Syed there are four important dimension of novel writing. Pandat Ratan Nath Sarshar made the local the subjects of culture and society in his novel against the tradition of Deputy Nazir Ahmad which was the depiction of surface level morality and Hadi Ruswa for the first time laid out the individual of inner feelings and made novel worth full.     There is no mention of female sketch. Writers in the tradition of Urdu Sketch writers. the critics have ignored then. Male writers seems to be given primary importance in this genre. Though thee are very few female writers in this are yet they do exist. But modern women are showing more and more interest in modern times. Some of these sketch-writers include Asmat Chughtai, Qurat-ul-Ain Haider, Khadija Mastoor, Sahab Qazalbash, Nisar Aziz Butt, Kishwer Naheed, Neelam Ahmed Bashir, Salma Khursheed, Hameeda Sultan, Begum Anees and Sughra Mehdi. There is no real distincion between male writers and female writers these days. Female writers of modern times are making their presence felt.
