Historiography of Pakistan has been criticized for a linear, vertical and repetitive approach and claims of scientific and objective writing of History. It is criticized for the Periodic shift/break ups, for an imbalance between indigenuity and exoticity, non-spatial centrality and metaphysical concerns supported by the state policy. In spite that a counter narrative has not been encouraged, several attempts can be found trying to present an alternate and parallel narrative of the Historical process in the areas forming Pakistan, and focusing on the People, indigenuity, continuity, culturality and regionality. Although, initially such attempts were considered as a sort of resistance to the state policies, but by the time, such narrative are identified as attempts to address the 'crises of identity' in Pakistan. Mirza Ibn Hanif (1930-2004) deserves a fundamental place in the history of the development of alternate and parallel narrative in Pakistan. He had begun to develop this narrative very early by 1960s and advocated the case for a historically distinct cultural and civilizational status of the region of Pakistan. In his narrative Multan occupies a central place. In this perspective, the paper explores Ibn Hanif's works as a counter and alternate narrative for the history of Pakistan

A film takes us on a journey that engage with our minds and emotions. The adaptation of a film is a form of relationship between literature and film. When a film maker decides to adapt a piece of fiction into a film they must impress the characters, incidents or story as well as they can for the movie to be successful. In simple term the theme, the characters and the flow of story line are the same in both Film and Fiction. So the readers and audience can get the same feeling after reading the book or after watching the movie. Dasht-e-Soos, more sentimental and more philosophical, amazing, fascinating and astonishing dispassionate analysis of a bye gone age of Muslim history, One can imagine that the main player of Jamila Hashmi's this novel would be Hussain Bin Mansur Hillaj. However throughout the story one cannot escape the overbearing aroma of "Aghul" and other characters. This was an unexpected love story or at least with an unusual diction that one does not come across in Urdu fiction .Many of the critics expected a story that would bring out Hillaj as he was commonly imagined but Jamila Hashmi had done a lot of historical and theoretical research to write about the Sufi Saint's inner journey. Someone who challenged the Status -quo of religion in 9th century Baghdad. But Jamila Hashmi's interest was in writing about the journey which started with Aghul"and ended with every bit of Hillaj's body, as it was hung by the king's decree and then chopped into pieces , screaming Anal Haq

Theory of Aryan invasion of India has been very imperative in historiography in India. The Aryans have been projected as that white colored superior race which established the foundation of great Indian Civilization in North India by most of the western philologists. Aryan Invasion Theory (AIT) has been a highly decisive theory in India since last one amp; a half century. Interestingly, this theory is in fact a hypothesis which states that the Aryans came to India from somewhere outside of this country, in 1500 BC and drove out the local Dravidians into South India. Local historians, philologists and archeologists especially belonging to Hindu community has been saying that this theory is constructed to set the fact that India was ruled and civilized all along by the outsiders. It is also postulated that AIT was in fact an item of imperialistic agenda of Asiatic Society of Bengal. One prominent member of this society and a liable servant of East India Company Friedrich Max Müller posited this Idea. While Pro-AIT scholars say that rejecting AIT is actually the agenda of 'Hindutva'. This article is a study of AIT along with its sustaining and discarding points and arguments. An effort has been made to analyze AIT from linguistics angle also to verify the perspective of Urdu and other Aryan languages
