Termination of life to relieve their suffering: Malaysian Medical, Legal, and Nursing Perspectives on Euthanasia
Euthanasia, a contentious and emotionally charged subject, sparks significant public debate and attracts heightened scrutiny compared to less controversial topics. It garners widespread attention and sparks lively discussions among various stakeholders, including academics, religious scholars, politicians, doctors, lawyers, and nurses, due to its involvement in intentionally ending human lives, albeit for compassionate reasons and with the voluntary consent of the individual. The present study aims to delve into the attitudes of doctors, lawyers, and nurses toward euthanasia and its potential legalization in Malaysia. Employing a survey methodology following established quantitative research protocols, the study administered questionnaires to 719 participants to gather their perspectives and opinions on euthanasia. Participants completed the 21-item Euthanasia Attitude Scale (EAS) questionnaire. Data analysis, conducted using SPSS version 29.0, measured data variables through mean, median, and standard deviation. The study revealed a high level of reliability among the variables, with Cronbach's Alpha values of 0.857 for EAS and 0.952 for reasons regarding euthanasia legalization. Pearson's correlation results fell within the range of 0.570 to 0.642, indicating a moderate and positive relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable. The study found that 64.3% of respondents held opposing views on euthanasia legalization, while 35.7% believed it should be legalized. Primary reasons for opposing legalization included religious beliefs (56.9%), concerns about public corruption (56.2%), and the belief in the sanctity of human life, with no one having the authority to end it (54.9%). Among those in favour of euthanasia legalization, 52.2% viewed it as a compassionate and humane means to alleviate the suffering of terminally ill individuals. The relatively small sample size underscores the necessity for diverse input in future research on euthanasia legalization. These findings underscore the ongoing relevance and need for thorough examination, reflecting the multifaceted nature of the topic. Despite opposition to legalization, the study highlights the enduring complexity of the euthanasia debate and the necessity for diverse perspectives to navigate it effectively.

Financial Management of Regional Public Service Agency : Evaluation Study of Regent's Regulation No. 5 of 2020 concerning Financial Management Guidelines for Regional Public Service Agency within the Sumbawa Regency Government
The Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD) is a work unit in the Regional Work Unit which provides services to the community with flexibility in financial management, different from regional financial management patterns in general. BLUD is part of local government and has flexibility in implementing business practices to improve community services. The BLUD financial management pattern provides flexibility in managing income, expenditure, cash, debts and investments. The Community Health Center (Puskesmas) has used the BLUD system since 2018, requiring the ability and awareness of human resources to run the system. Based on this, the aim of the research carried out is to see an overview of the implementation of government policies in the form of financial management of Regional Public Service Bodies which have been regulated in the Sumbawa Regent's Regulation Number 5 of 2020 concerning Financial Management Guidelines for Regional Public Service Bodies linked to Sumbawa Regency. To obtain the objectives of this research, the researcher used qualitative descriptive research using interview and observation instruments to collect data both directly and through documents. The results of the research that has been carried out provide an illustration that Public policy evaluation is closely related to the level of compliance and satisfaction with the financial management performance of BLUD community health centers. The results of this research can complement William Dunn's opinion or theory regarding public policy evaluation to focus on the level of compliance and performance satisfaction in evaluating public policies, which does not only focus on the values, goals and targets of a policy as measured by numbers

Management of Green Open Spaces in the Malang City Region, Indonesia
Based on Malang City Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2011 concerning Regional Spatial Planning in Malang City, regulations have been regulated regarding the existence, management, and availability of green open space in Malang City as an ecological balance in the Malang City area. However, this policy has only partially influenced green open space development, especially city parks. So currently, the Malang City government is managing and revitalizing several green open spaces (RTH) areas and city parks; even though they need to be improved, such funding problems hamper them. This research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research location was carried out at the Malang City Environmental Service. The data sources are primary data and secondary data. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. For data analysis techniques in this research, we use techniques from Miles and Huberman, namely data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and data verification. The research results explain that budget problems have resulted in managing green open spaces limited to maintenance activities. This can be seen from indicators in policy implementation, which include the communication factor, namely the clarity of policy orders from the city government to the implementing organization, even though there has been no form of socialization to the public. The next factor is resources in the form of limited regional income and expenditure budgets, limiting the management of green open spaces. The third factor is good cooperation and coordination between related areas and regional apparatus organizations from within and outside the organization, such as the private sector or corporate social responsibility (CSR). Fourth, the bureaucratic structure, namely the organizational structure, the appropriate division of tasks and functions, and standard operational procedures have been implemented in green open space for the environmental service
Transformation of Higher Education in Cameroon through Decentralization Frameworks
Faced with the problems and challenges of the centralized university system, the central government thought it wise to decentralize Higher Education in Cameroon. The present study looks at the various decentralization reforms put in place for the transformation of Higher Education in Cameroon and the practical measures that have been implemented to ensure this transformation. Decentralization which is widely used as an instrument of development is a process where centralized governments initiate reform agendas with the aim of transferring some powers, tasks and resources to regional governments and local authorities. Decentralization in education refers to the transfer of administrative and financial decision-making powers from central ministries of education to the regions. In recent years, the Cameroon government has become concerned about transforming the higher education landscape. This has been made possible by ensuring the decentralization of higher education institutions according to section 34(2) of 2023 higher education policy and ensuring the implementation of the e-higher education policy. A joint agreement was signed between the Government of Cameroon and The People’s Republic of China in 2015 known as “the Electronic Higher Education Project”. The implementation of this project has recorded the creation of public university institutions in all regions of the country, distribution of laptops to university students and the creation of ten (10) digital centers. However, we recommend that the various digital centers should be strengthened such that lecturers should have equitable access and inter-university relations be fostered. The Cameroon University system now has a technological environment favourable for digital transformation
Reinhardt’s Modern Concept of Eclecticism in Theatre at Variance to the Production Philosophies of Grotowski and Brook, A Critical Review
Eclecticism in twenty-first-century theatre is fast becoming an influential directorial ideology due to the effects of globalization and digitalization. However, some theatre critics will argue in favor of a wide variety of non-traditional styles of performance that emerged during the avant-garde theatre of the 1900s. Hence, this paper takes a comparative approach to assess Max Reinhardt’s directorial concept of ‘eclecticism’ and its numerous benefits to the traditional theatre, while juxtaposing it with the production philosophies of Jerzy Grotowski and Peter Brook. Furthermore, the paper invites the reader to an exposition of the directorial styles of three great theatre exponents as case studies of the Modern stage. The research addresses the aesthetic features of Reinhardt, Grotowski, and Brook’s theatre that have encouraged and stimulated a greater exploration of a variety of diverse and inclusive approaches to directing performances for the ever-evolving contemporary audience. The summary and findings are deduced from the critical examination of the three case studies
Study of Management of Village Owned Business Entities Malang Regency, Indonesia
A village-owned business entity is a business entity that is owned and managed by village communities through village institutions or village community groups. In the context of village-owned enterprises, their authority is supported by regulations and included capital, making them entities with an essential role in village development. Therefore, research on managing village-owned enterprises is very relevant and vital. This research aims to describe and analyze the Policy Implementation process in managing village-owned enterprises and the factors that support and hinder Policy Implementation in managing village-owned enterprises based on Wonosari Village Regulation Number 5 of 2020. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used in this research were documentary interviews and observation. The data analysis technique uses the interactive research model from Miles and Huberman. The research results show that the management of village-owned enterprises in Wonosari Village based on Village Regulation No. 5 of 2020 has yet to be implemented. This can be identified by discovering problems where the policy implementation process at the Kawi Rani village-owned enterprise has yet to be implemented according to its objectives. This can be observed from the non-implementation of the three programs that had been planned, but there was an additional goat cultivation program. Supporting Factors: Competent human and natural resources supporting the Animal Cultivation program. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are that forming and establishing a village-owned business entity needs to go through processes and stages, communication between implementers, the attitude of implementers, and minimal socialization
Government Revenue, Public Debt and Infrastructural Development in Nigeria during 2014 - 2023
The essence of infrastructural development and its implications on Nigerian economy are no longer contentious but its adequacy has become an issue of concern especially in the emerging economies like Nigeria. On this note, this study evaluated the effect of government revenue on infrastructural development. Furthermore, it examined the influence of public debts on infrastructural development in Nigeria. All these are to provide insight as to the relationship between government revenue; public debts and infrastructural development in Nigeria.
Longitudinal research design was employed. The population was the Nigerian economy which was infinite in nature. The source of data was secondary. Capital expenditures were measured as infrastructures while oil revenue and non-oil revenue were employed to proxy government revenue. Domestic and external debts were the proxies of public debts. The data were collected from statistical bulletins. The data were estimated descriptively and inferentially.
This study showed that the trend of infrastructural development in Nigeria was ups and downs. In addition, the study revealed that government revenue has no statistically significant effect on infrastructural development in Nigeria (?2 = 1.98; p > 0.05). Furthermore, it was found that public debts significantly affected infrastructural development in Nigeria (?2 = 14.91; p < 0.05).
This research work concluded that while the development of infrastructures in Nigeria was influenced by the public debts, the government revenue did not affect it within the stated periods. So, it is recommended that the government should block all the leakages to revenue generation
Alternative Open Education System towards a Professional National Police of the Republic of Indonesia: A Case Study of Police Officer Candidate School Students
This research was conducted to answer the questions "What is the current educational situation in Secapa Polri" and "How is the education system in Secapa Polri". Interest in researching this topic is based on the fact that the professionalism of the National Police is relatively low. This is marked with; The police's typical technical capabilities have decreased, they are no longer responsive in providing services to the community, tend to be militaristic, etc. which are thought to be caused by educational factors as stated by several experts who understand the Police. In connection with the research objectives, this study used 10 informants (5 students/former students and 5 supervisors/teaching staff). The research subjects were 400 Secapa Polri students from the 28th class of the 2000 academic year. Each of them was given a questionnaire to measure students' opinions and feelings towards educational system variables. The research results from qualitative data analysis revealed that the Secapa Polri educational institution was physically inadequate and gave the impression of being a closed educational institution; 11 month educational curriculum with many subjects (38 subjects), busy activities, minimal skills subject matter; the teaching and learning process is supported by personnel who are limited in quantity and quality, use of inappropriate learning methods; Student behavior is behavior obtained from a limited "model". Several of these characteristics indicate that Secapa Polri is an educational institution that implements a closed education system. Apart from that, the results of quantitative data analysis of students' opinions and feelings show that the mean of the education system variables is to the left of the average with the variations in the answers given tending to be homogeneous. This indicates a closed education system. There is similarity (consistency) between students' opinions and feelings towards the Secapa Polri education system. This further emphasizes that the education system at Secapa Polri is a closed education system. Considering the limitations of a study which cannot possibly reveal all the aspects studied, there are several things that can be discussed. There are similarities between the results of this research and the results of research conducted by the National Police Dislitbang and UGM, and the PTIK Working Group, namely that the National Police education curriculum needs to be adapted to societal developments. To find out how an effective and efficient education system is in forming professional police, it is necessary to develop a comparative study with police education that is at the same level as Secapa education in other countries that are already developed but have societal characteristics that are similar to Indonesian society. Use of theory developed with motivation theory as contained in Mc theory. Clelland (Gibson, et al,1997) and social judgment theory which assumes that a person's behavioral guidelines are based on judgment standards formed by previous experience, life and environment. Data analysis can be developed using regression analysis to see how big the contribution of student motivation, educational background, length of service, and education system is to the behavior of students resulting from certain education (SPN, Akpol, PTIK, Secapa, etc.). By expanding research problems, increasing research questions, enriching theories and theoretical frameworks and developing research methods, it is very likely that the results will be more representative and more useful for organizational development, especially accelerating the realization of a professional Police
Study of Knowledge & Attitude of UG students towards Environmental Education in WB state of India
A study was carried out to assess the environmental knowledge and attitude of UG-level students in West Bengal. Two hundred and twenty graduation students were randomly selected from 8 government-aided general degree colleges. The data were collected using a questionnaire survey method. The results showed that male and female students had different levels of knowledge and concern, but students studying Arts and Science had similar levels. Students from rural and urban areas had similar views on the environment. The study found a strong connection between how much students knew and how much they cared about environmental issues. Teachers thought the environmental studies curriculum was good but might need some changes. Caring for the environment is crucial for human survival, not just for animals and resources. It's about understanding how everything is connected, that resources are limited, and how our actions affect the planet's future. We must prioritize the planet's well-being over material gains and think about what's right and fair for the long term
