Through the collection and analysis of quantitative data, this research study seeks to assess the efficacy of an anger management treatment programme for violent offenders at the Harare Central Prison. Evidence based interventions are necessary to address anger related issues among prisoners because of the high incidences of violence and aggressiveness in and out of the correctional facilities. To evaluate the effect of the anger management programme on the participant outcomes, the study uses a strict approach. The measuring change questionnaire for anger is used in the study design to measure the anger levels, identify the motivations for violent behavior, to assess the effectiveness of the treatment programme and if the participants are aware of their triggers before and after the treatment programme. The intervention group is made of participants or inmates who are of violent offenders who participate in the anger management treatment programme. A validated questionnaire is used to gather quantitative data before and after the intervention period. The pre and post intervention ratings will be analysed using Statistical package for the social sciences. The results of the study will offer factual support for the efficacy of Harare Central prison’s anger management programme for violent offenders. The findings will add to the body of knowledge already available on interventions for anger management in correctional settings, particularly in the context of Zimbabwe. By emphasizing the value of evidence based therapies in treating anger related problems among violent offenders and enhancing rehabilitation results, these results can influence policy and practice

    Get PDF
This comparative study investigates the role of government policies in determining the disparities in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in four countries with varying economic statuses and policy approaches—Poland and Estonia from Eastern Europe, and Ethiopia and Nepal from the Global South. Despite similarities in geographic and economic contexts, these nations exhibit stark contrasts in emissions outcomes. By analyzing data from 2015, the year of the Paris Agreement’s adoption, this study underscores the pivotal role of governmental strategies, including energy policy, renewable energy adoption, and climate governance, in shaping national emissions profiles. The findings demonstrate that while international agreements like the Paris Agreement can catalyze action, the effectiveness of these agreements is contingent on the strength of domestic policies, political will, and the existing energy infrastructure. The analysis concludes that robust, well-enforced policies—particularly those fostering renewable energy adoption and integrated climate strategies—are essential in achieving substantial emissions reductions

As the need for excellent English proficiency grows in business and education in Thailand, teaching English as a foreign language has become increasingly relevant. Hence, learning strategies in Thailand have shifted to meet the needs of students and maintain the concepts and techniques of instruction utilized in foreign countries. This phenomenological study aimed to acquire information from the Filipino EFL teachers under the Chulalongkorn University Nonthaburi Project about their lived experiences and the teaching strategies used for effective classroom instruction in developing the listening and speaking competencies of the students. Seven EFL teachers under the Nonthaburi Project were the participants of this study. The results were transcribed and analyzed using Giorgi’s descriptive phenomenological method and thematic analysis to identify relevant knowledge and provide perspectives into the teaching methods and experiences of foreign language teachers striving to enhance the listening and speaking competencies of the students. Furthermore, the study revealed that the main challenge for EFL teachers is the language barrier. It was evidently seen that when the students have difficulty understanding the language, they lose interest and become unfocused on the classroom discussion. With this, this study explored that interactive strategies are more effective in English classes. Moreover, implementing interactive, cooperative, and active learning can serve as a framework for teachers to incorporate teaching strategies. They are learning activities to strengthen competency and achieve a high level of awareness for teachers and students in the teaching and learning process

    Get PDF
Underemployment among engineering graduates remains a critical challenge in India, where the rapid expansion of technical education has not been matched by sufficient job opportunities. This study employs a survey-based approach, analyzing responses from 100 engineering graduates in Kerala and using Chi-Square tests to identify key factors influencing underemployment. The findings indicate that demographic factors, academic performance, and institution type do not significantly impact underemployment. However, participation in internships and skill development programs significantly reduces underemployment, highlighting the importance of practical experience and industry-aligned training. Major challenges include skill mismatches, weak industry-academia collaboration, outdated curricula, and inadequate career guidance. To address these issues, the study recommends mandatory internships, expanded skill development programs, improved career counseling, and stronger industry partnerships. Additionally, government interventions such as hiring incentives and structured employer-academia collaboration are essential to bridging the education-employment gap. These insights contribute to ongoing discussions on education reform and employability, emphasizing the need for systemic changes to ensure engineering education leads to meaningful careers

    Get PDF
Projectile motion is a foundational concept in physics, yet Grade 9 students consistently struggle with its abstractness and mathematical complexities. Traditional teaching methods often fail to address misconceptions and promote deep conceptual understanding. This study addresses this gap by developing and evaluating an edge-cutting learning packet. This study aimed to develop and assess the efficacy of a simulation-based guided inquiry learning packet embedded with metacognitive scaffolding in enhancing Grade 9 students' conceptual understanding of projectile motion. Employing the Successive Approximation Model (SAM), a learning packet was developed integrating PhET simulations, guided inquiry activities, and metacognitive prompts. The packet was validated by 16 experienced physics educators and implemented with 41 Grade 9 students in a quasi-experimental, one-group pretest-posttest design. Data was analyzed using Kendall's W, mean scores, item analysis, and normalized gain. The needs assessment revealed projectile motion as the most difficult topic, corroborated by Kendall's W (0.37), indicating moderate agreement among DepEd teachers (N=35). Expert evaluations affirmed the packet's quality with a "PASSED" rating across criteria: content, format, presentation, and accuracy. The student achievement scores significantly improved, with the mean increasing from 7.07 to 14.34. The average normalized gain was 0.56, classified as "Average." The findings advocate for a paradigm shift in physics education, emphasizing the role of metacognitive support and simulation-based inquiry to promote deeper, perturbed understanding. This research offers a replicable model for instructional design and calls for the broader adoption of innovative strategies that empower students to master challenging scientific concepts. Ergo suggests determining the metacognitive development of the students
