Economic Cooperation Organization: A Historical Perspective
Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) is a regional and inter-governmentalorganization which provides a trading block like the European Union and this paper attempt to understand the undercurrents of it. ECO provides a trading block like the European Union and committed to achieve its objectives. Its main members are Iran, Pakistan and Turkey and in fact this organization is a continuation of the multi-government organization; the RCD started in 1964 and ceased working in 1979. ECO emerged as a replacement of RCD in 1985, with inclusion of seven more countries including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan,Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Azerbaijan. For achieving its objectives ECO’s work-plan was prepared in three, cultural, economic and scientific, domains. The geographical situation of these countries not only provides road, air and sea-links for each other but also can connect the countries of central Asia as well. Land locked, Central Asian countries to date are linked to Mediterranean Sea through Turkey, Persian Gulf through Iran and by developing ECO Pakistan can provide access to these countries to Arabian Sea. This paper argues that if the strategic goals set in ECO and CPEC are achieved Pakistan can emerge as one of the fastest growing regional markets, possibly globally, as well

Role of Schools in Socio-Emotional Development of Higher Secondary Level Students and its Impact on their Societal Adjustment
Socio-emotional development consists of the child's experience, expression, and management of emotions and the ability to establish tremendous and profitable relationships with others. This research was conducted with the main objective to identify the role of schools in socio-emotional development of higher secondary level students and its impact on their societal adjustment with respect to investigate the grounds due to which students are involved in bad habits like abrupt anger, impatience, intolerance, overconfidence, superiority/inferiority complex, disobeying the teachers/elders, etc., and they are victims of mala fide activities also, such as smoking, ice addiction, misuse of mobile phones, unfair love, etc. It was a mixed-methods study (quantitative-cum-qualitative) conducted on public sector boys and girls higher secondary schools of Faisalabad division. The sample consisted of higher secondary grade (XI-XII) students, chairpersons (principals), parent and general members of the school councils. A Likert type scale and a semi-structured interview protocol was developed by the researchers for data collection. The instruments were validated by experts and questionnaire was pilot tested to ensure reliability employing Cronbach Alpha. The findings revealed that there was a significant impact of social and emotional development on societal adjustment p < 0.000. There was a significant positive relationship of social development and emotional development with societal adjustment. Qualitative data revealed that schools are not playing their role in true spirit to develop higher secondary level students, socio-emotionally. Apart from this, parents and home environment also play a major role in spoiling the socio-emotional development of students. It is recommended that an action plan may be drawn and implemented by the government at public higher secondary schools’ level for the proper socio-emotional development of students and their societal adjustment.
Learning Support in Universities: Analysis of Students' Perceptions from the Perspective of their Achievement
The universities are currently highly emphasizing supporting their students in learning. This is mainly due to the reason that learning support plays a significant role in promoting students’ learning experiences and their achievement. The research from the perspective of learning support is scarce in the context of universities of Southern Punjab, Pakistan. The purpose of this study was, consequently, to examine learning support provided by the universities to their students as perceived by them from the perspective of their achievement and demographic variables. This descriptive study used survey and correlational research designs. All students from three public sector universities of Southern Punjab, Pakistan were selected as a population. Of these, 671 students were selected as a sample using multistage cluster and stratified sampling techniques. For this study, a questionnaire was designed as a research tool. The questionnaire contained 18 statements, which were further divided in three sub-section as a measure of learning support. The CGPAs of students were taken as a measure of their achievement, along with the demographic information of students to measure gender- and discipline-based differences. The questionnaire was found to be highly reliable with reliability coefficient of 0.825. This research found that students were highly satisfied with the support related to studies and learning, followed by the provision of guidance and counselling, and least satisfied with the physical environment and with the provision of resources. It was found that female students were significantly more satisfied than the male students with learning support provided to them by their universities. It was also found that students’ achievement was significantly correlated with learning support provided to them, although this relationship positive and very low
Biological management of Bactrocera zonata through an effective delivery system of mycoproteins of Beauveria bassiana integrated with synthetic attractant baits
A destructive species of fruit fly known as Bactrocera zonata (Tephritidae: Diptera), seriously harms fruit crops. Mycoproteins found in biological control agents such as the fungus Beauveria bassiana Balsamo, have insecticidal effects against B. zonata. The B. bassiana is found to be the most successful biological control agent against B. zonata through attract and kill technique. The current study was carried out to exam in vitro fatality rate of B. zonata larvae and adults using various concentrations of crude mycoproteins from B. bassiana (3, 6, 9, 12, and 15 µL mL-1). The same experiment was conducted again in a mango orchard against adult B. zonata to examine the activity of crude mycoproteins at higher concentrations (6, 12, 18, 24 and 30 µL mL-1), which were mixed with artificial attractant baits to attract adult B. zonata towards the traps hung from mango trees. The maximum mortality of larvae (90%) and adults (89%) was found at a concentration of 15 µL mL-1, while the minimum mortality of larvae (44%) and adults (36%) was found at a concentration of 3 µL mL-1, as compared to control. According to the field study findings, adults of B. zonata had a maximum mortality of 84% when exposed to crude mycoproteins at a concentration of 30 µL mL-1. It is concluded that B. zonata can be successfully managed in mango orchards using mycoproteins at a concentration of 30 uL mL-1 in combination with synthetic attractant baits
Feminism and Deconstruction
AbstractFeminist sensibility viewed in circumference of Derridian philosophical acumen to deconstruction makes feminism a fluid, multiverse and multidextrous consciousness. Not that feminism is a term, theory or movement but that it is an event or occurrence and itself continues to deconstruct established feminist philosophy or praxis. According to deconstruction, feminist truth flows in multiplicity rather than being single or rigid. Hence, deconstructionists raise a question against the sole connotation of feministic philosophy. The feminist discourse is an interdisciplinary one and shows facets of relative truth that has no end. In addition, Deconstruction discriminates the dichotomous categories of gender and sex, which suffice to femaleness but are incongruous to feminism. The present paper attempts to delineate feminism as a transitory event under flowing discourse of deconstruction.
THE DEEP PRINTS OF TRIPOLI WAR ON MUHAMMAD IQBAL
The people of the subcontinent considered it their duty to stand by the Ottoman State, which they were pleased with and grateful for, because of their administration, which had lasted since the first Turkish states. After the Ottoman Empire took over the caliphate, a spiritual bond was established between the Muslims of the subcontinent and the Ottoman Empire, and the relations between these two societies gradually increased. During difficult times that countries go through, authors are usually the ones who put societies in action. Muhammed Iqbal, who had a sincere love for Turks, shared the grief of Turks during the Tripoli War. As a reflection of this, Iqbal made a great contribution to forming public opinion by instilling love for Turks into Indian Muslims through the poems in which he gave examples about the heroic epics of Turks. In this study, we aim to reveal the significance of Iqbal’s support, which reached to a big crowd of people between Subcontinent Muslims, by studying his poems, written with the same emotions and enthusiasm as Turks, that depict the tough times Turks were going through during the Tripoli War.
A naturalistic study of Ontario elementary recess in Ontario schools
The commitment of this Ontario (Canada) naturalistic observation study, to observe in a natural setting, the actions of elementary level students during recesses was both important and revealing. Three different students were observed each recess and the recorded behaviors appeared within 20-minute recess breaks. Recess, an informal period where students at the elementary level in grades kindergarten through eight could be observed playing, communicating or being inactive, proved surprising. 432 (18 observations per session x 12 sessions x 2 schools) direct observations led to conclusions that recess was a time to communicate with others while moving in various physical ways that revealed distinct patterns of play (games), walking, standing (idleness), individuality and group cohesion. Generally, students were engaged in play that was informal, spontaneous, and active
