Investigation the Dynamics of Learning Obstacles in Jumlah Ismiyyah Among Junior High School Students

Qawāʻid al-lugah al-‘arabiyyah in its complexity, continues to challenge learners, especially within jumlah ismiyyah. This research aims to identify these learning obstacles more deeply using Brosseau's learning obstacle framework. Learning obstacles are categorized into three types based on their causes: ontogenic, epistemological, and didactical obstacles. Ontogenic obstacles are further subdivided into psychological ontogenic obstacles, instrumental ontogenic obstacles, and conceptual ontogenic obstacles. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. Purposive sampling was used as the sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. Findings reveal that students face ontogenic obstacles due to limited cognitive readiness, low motivation, and weak foundational understanding often reflected in errors identifying sentence components. Epistemological obstacles are marked by difficulties in applying grammatical concepts, such as recognizing jumlah ismiyyah across varied sentence structures. Didactical obstacles arise due to insufficient explanation of sentence transformation and lack of varied media and practice. These obstacles are influenced by multiple factors, including classroom conditions, student workload, cognitive preparedness, scheduling, instructional media, and teaching approaches. Among the three categories, epistemological obstacles are the most prominent, indicating a gap in conceptual comprehension. Identifying these learning obstacles is essential to designing more adaptive and effective instruction, ensuring students can progress toward deeper understanding in subsequent material

This study explores whether the application of Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) therapy can effectively enhance the motivation and reinforcement of students in memorizing the Qur’an at the Baitul Ilmi Female Tahfidz Islamic Boarding School in Bima City. To investigate this issue, the study utilized a quantitative research approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The participants consisted of 16 ninth-grade students from the Baitul Ilmi Female Tahfidz Islamic Boarding School. Data were gathered using standardized instruments measuring motivation and reinforcement, and subsequently analyzed through a series of statistical procedures, including normality testing, paired samples t-test, and Pearson correlation analysis. The findings revealed that the data were normally distributed, and there was a statistically significant increase in both motivation and reinforcement after SEFT therapy was applied (p < 0.001). Descriptively, students showed greater enthusiasm in attending tahfidz activities, became more confident in memorizing, and were more emotionally resilient. Reinforcement was reflected through improved self-perception, responsiveness to praise, and consistency in memorization practices. However, the correlation analysis showed no significant relationship between motivation and reinforcement (r = -0.079; p = 0.771), indicating that while both improved independently, they were not directly linked statistically. These results suggest that SEFT therapy is effective in enhancing students’ psychological and emotional readiness for Qur'anic memorization, though the effects on motivation and reinforcement function separatel

The main focus of the research is to describe the main concepts of transactional learning and transformational learning. Research was carried out through literature studies, with data collection using a "thematic" or "conceptual categories" approach where the results of the study of various references were organized according to topics or issues. The results of the research show that in transactional learning, the existence of the teacher has complete authority, occupies a central position, has advantages and knows everything, while students are in a position of not knowing, and therefore learning is indoctrinative, top down, centralized, prioritizing intellectual aspects, success learning is measured on the knowledge mastered by students cognitively. Transformative learning places greater emphasis on social and cultural transformation in students, so that they have the ability and insight to face and solve problems. The existence of teachers in transformative learning is actually parallel to the existence of students. Teachers and students are learning subjects and the object is reality. Transformative learning places dialogue as the main method in learning, and therefore the existence of teachers and students learn from each other
