Health literacy in psychiatric health care—state of the art in the world and Poland. Literature review
This article aims to present differences in approaches to health literacy in psychiatric health care in accordance with the current state of knowledge worldwide and in Poland. The literature was analysed and critiqued. For this purpose, a non-systematic literature review was conducted using scientific databases: Google Scholar, ScienceDirect and PubMed. The Introduction highlights the critical role of health literacy in psychiatric care and formulates two research questions. Within the theoretical framework of health literacy, three areas were defined: health literacy, public health literacy and mental health literacy. The literature review results are then presented, and their implications are discussed. The literature analysis indicates that health literacy is a multifaceted issue that must be disseminated within Poland’s psychiatric care. The stated research objective and consideration of the mental health literacy concept in the context of Polish psychiatric care should first be regarded as an appropriate research tool for assessing the level of mental health literacy
Modern dimension of learning— development of digital competence of seniors as a manifestation of their modern lifestyle
Human capital development is no longer just a set of organised activities taking place over a specific period aimed at changing human behavior. Nowadays, the emphasis is shifting from formal training towards forming a culture of lifelong development of the individual, which encourages the undertaking of ‘learning, unlearning, and re-learning’ throughout life, taking into account also non-formal, and informal, and incidental development processes. For the Older Adults Learning English and Digital Literacy in Collaboration With Young Adults (COLL-OYA) project, a survey was carried out to analyse the learning needs of adults’ digital literacy. The survey was conducted using a survey questionnaire, which was available online in Google Forms. 52 respondents took part in the survey, in the 55+ age range. The largest groups were proportionally in the age brackets: 60–64 (23.1%), 65–69 (21.2%), and 70–74 (23.1%). The second section of the survey was devoted to respondents’ digital awareness. Respondents were asked to indicate which areas of information they were most interested in. The top areas were news (55.8%), travel (48.1%), and general health (44.2%)
