Модернізм в українській літературі кінця ХІХ – початку ХХ століття: польсько-український контекст
No full textThe article analyzes modernism in the Ukrainian literature of the late 19th and early 20th century in the context of Polish-Ukrainian literary and cultural contacts. The impact of Kraków modernism on the artistic strivings in Ukrainian literature is scrutinized in depth. The author analyzed the works by Ukrainian writers, particularly Vasyl Stefanyk, published and discussed in the Kraków-based magazine Życie. Ukrainian writers, like Lesia Ukrainka, Bohdan Lepky, and others attempted to analyze Polish modern literature in their literary-critical articles, thus promoting the development of new directions in Ukrainian literary life. The subject of the research are the literary articles by Ivan Franko, Zenon Przesmycki (Miriam), Lesia Ukrainka, Stanisław Przybyszewski, Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky, Olha Kobylianska, Waclaw Moraczewski, and others. Mutual translations and critical speeches of Ukrainian and Polish authors boosted the enrichment of the cultures of both nations at that time. No full textThe article argues for the need for the Republic of Poland to exercise the option right with respect to the advertising of infant formula and food for special medical purposes developed to satisfy the nutritional requirements of infants. The use of the option right to its full extent (i.e. the introduction of a ban and not only a further restriction of advertising the products covered by it) is supported in particular by considerations of public health and environmental protection, the right of women to accurate, unbiased information needed to make an informed choice regarding the feeding of the child, the right of mother and child to breastfeed and Poland’s international obligations, as well as an analysis of the provisions on advertising products covered by the option right in terms of their sufficiency and effectiveness.Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia argumenty przemawiające za potrzebą skorzystania przez Rzeczpospolitą Polską z prawa opcji w odniesieniu do reklamy preparatów do początkowego żywienia niemowląt i żywności specjalnego przeznaczenia medycznego opracowanej w celu zaspokojenia potrzeb żywieniowych niemowląt. Forensic study on the effect of atypical surfaces and writing instruments on handwriting characteristics
No full textHandwriting examination is becoming a captivating field nowadays, as there are numerous cases where handwriting is not written on a usual surface – i.e., paper, with a conventional writing instrument – i.e., pen. However, while it is interesting to analyze these types of handwriting samples, most forensic document examiners find it difficult due to the effect atypical surface and writing instrument have on handwriting characteristics. Thus, a systematized study has been carried out on documents prepared on unconventional surfaces such as cardboard, cloth piece, and blackboard, with uncommon writing instruments such as lipstick, kajal, and chalk. Correspondingly, studies were carried out on writing samples provided by 40 individuals using the conventional pen/paper as well as unconventional cardboard/kajal, cardboard/pen, cloth/pen, cloth/lipstick, cloth/kajal, and board/chalk combinations. Various handwriting features were examined and compared among aforementioned combinations, and changes in handwriting characteristics were reported. Competitiveness of cities in the post-pandemic time: The perspectives of residents and tourists
No full textThe COVID-19 pandemic has sparked an unprecedented crisis in the globalized, modern economy. Cities actively promoting their image faced the challenge of maintaining a positive perception of the place and modifying their offers due to massive coronavirus infections. As a time of gradual stabilization, the post-pandemic period requires cities to introduce or continue appropriate changes in their marketing strategy to ensure competitiveness to the effects of the pandemic. This paper aims to present selected changes in the city offers addressed to residents and tourists during the pandemic and to determine how these changes may affect the city’s image as one of the factors of competitiveness. A review of literature and research published in the years 2021–2022 was used, presenting solutions implemented by cities to maintain a positive image, demand, and stakeholder satisfaction. Examples of changes applied by territorial units are described from the perspective of two primary target groups of the cities: residents and tourists. Based on the analyzed secondary data, the author notes an increase in the interest of local communities in nearby tourist destinations and the need to transform marketing messages that encourage residents to engage in local tourism. Among some of the city’s recipients there was also more attention given to the use of coworking spaces. Also, a positive impact of temporary urban planning on community participation in urban marketing was observed. Referring to the literature related to the city image, these changes can directly affect the competitiveness of cities and support the gradual economic recovery after the crisis caused by the global pandemic

No full textThe subject of the research undertaken in this article is the philosophical and social thought of Emmanuel Mounier in terms of his views on the crisis of twentieth-century man and the way out of this crisis. The basic research problem is the question: is Mounier’s revolutionary personalism an alternative conception of how to apprehend the crisis of twentieth-century man and does it provide an answer to the challenges facing him? The research method I have used is a critical analysis of the source texts. The text also covers the problemat of the ideological currents that Mounier confronted in his writing. I have subjected these currents to analysis, indicating the attitude of personalism towards each of them. Finally, based on the source texts, I have identified the path of development of the human person and described the challenges he faced, at the dawn of a new era.Przedmiotem badań podejmowanym w artykule jest myśl filozoficzno-społeczna Emmanuela Mouniera w zakresie poglądów dotyczących kryzysu dwudziestowiecznego człowieka i sposobu rozwiązania jego problemów. Podstawową kwestią badawczą jest pytanie, czy personalizm rewolucyjny Mouniera jest alternatywną koncepcją ujęcia kryzysu dwudziestowiecznego człowieka i czy stanowi odpowiedź na stojące przed nim wyzwania. Zastosowaną metodą badawczą jest krytyczna analiza tekstów źródłowych. Artykuł obejmuje również problematykę prądów ideowych, z którymi Mounier mierzył się w swoim piśmiennictwie. Prądy te zostały poddane analizie ze wskazaniem na stosunek personalizmu wobec każdego z nich. Ostatecznie, opierając się na tekstach źródłowych, określono drogę rozwoju osoby ludzkiej i opisano stojące przed nią u zarania nowej epoki wyzwania

Get PDFThe second part of the article in the first place discusses doctrinal propositions and legislative initiativesin terms of making changes in the content of Article 256 of the Penal Code. Subsequently, the analysis of signs of disposition of Article 256 §§ 1–3 of the Penal Code is made. On the basis of the reflections incorporated in both parts of the publication discussed, de lege ferenda postulates were presented regarding the course of modification of the current content of Article 256 §§ 1–3 of the Penal Code. Transfer of the prevailing part of the provisions of Article 256 of the Penal Code to the newly worded Article 133 of the Penal Code was found to be justified in order to highlight that the crime of propagating totalitarian ideas and political objectives is a crime directed mainly against the state, and its purpose comes down to insulting the victims of totalitarian systems and their descendants — all of the citizens of the Polish country, whose devastation was the aim of the two totalitarian systems — that of the Third Reich and of the communist USSR. The author of the publication opts for the introduction of normative changes that would allow for criminal prosecution of both the perpetrators of the acts consisting in the glorification of the totalitarian ideology, as well as propagating totalitarian state systems
