La retraduction : le sort de la conception bermanienne en Finlande
No full textThe purpose of this article is to examine the impact of Antoine Berman’s theory of retranslation in Finland. The role of Yves Gambier, Andrew Chesterman and Kaisa Koskinen & Outi Paloposki as mediators of Berman’s theory is explored. The close reading of their articles on retranslation from the 1990s and early 2000s shows that they all have contributed to linking Berman to the “retranslation hypothesis” that is nowadays considered a simplification of his complex theory (K. Peeters, P. Van Poucke, « Retranslation, thirty-odd years after Berman », Parallèles 35(1), 2023, pp. 3–27). Furthermore, contrary to what is usually claimed the notorious hypothesis does not originate from Chesterman. Secondly, the study investigates Berman’s influence in Finland by analyzing doctoral dissertations that have examined retranslations. It is concluded that although few Finnish dissertations properly use the Bermanian framework, his influence in Finland has been significant through Koskinen & Paloposki’s studies that have adopted the complex Bermanian framework from the 2010s onwards. Finally, it suggests that Berman’s ideas on the incompleteness of translation and the need for retranslation can also be applied, with modifications, to the study of the transmission of theories

No full textThe article analyses Anglicisms in Polish and Croatian from the semantic field of the names of lace-up shoes. The ways of adaptation of particular borrowings from the point of view of morphology, orthography, and sematics are analysed. The presence of particular lexemes in lexicographical sources is also examined. The linguistic material is obtained from websites dealing with fashion and the production and sale of footwear.U članku se analiziraju anglizmi u poljskom i hrvatskom jeziku iz semantičkog polja naziva cipela na vezanje. Istražuju se načini prilagodbe pojedinih posuđenica na morfološkoj, grafijskoj i značenjskoj razini. Ispituje se također prisutnost pojedinih leksema u leksikografskim izvorima. Jezična građa koja se opisuje prikupljena je na internetskim stranicama koje se bave modom te proizvodnjom i prodajom obuće

No full textIn the article I attempt to specify the uniqueness of the key aesthetics categories. The argument is based on the concept of Pure Form put forward by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz. I provide an argument for a claim that aesthetic terms categories must remain open, and I try to explain how to understand their openness. My attempt is based on my own interpretation of Pure Form as a concept belonging to aesthetic theory and associated not only with the creation of a work of art. I argue that the proposed interpretation may be accepted on the condition that we would never be able fully to understand how an object becomes a masterpiece. Pure Form has a dynamic, living, open, performative nature and thus will never be fully understood

No full textThis paper explores the opinion of the most religiously committed people in Poland, who often use Catholic media and are active in Catholic organizations. Study of a grup of 1082 Poles over 50 year of age is intended to provide an opinion about priest Henryk Jankowski — the chaplain of the Solidarity movement and Lech Wałęsa’s close friend later accused of phedophilia. This research clearly show that people most involved in the public life of the Church believe that Father Jankowski was not a phedophile and assess his conduct positively. A control sample of all voters over 50 (people who remember the activities of the priest in the 1980s) is of a different opinion

No full textRussia’s aggression against Ukraine on February 24, 2022 was the beginning of a new war in Europe. Most of the international community has condemned Russian aggression. Some social movements, including the anarchist movement, not only condemned the war but called for the end of the war. Anarchists recognized that the war was a way to resolve the power struggle over Ukraine. The research hypotheses adopted for this paper are as follows: 1. the anarchist movement opposed the war in Ukraine, the anarchist movement treated the war as a result of the struggle of the great powers for power and influence on the territory of Ukraine, 2. it is inconsistent with the axiological system of anarchism as a political thought, 3. the position of the international structures of the anarchist movement towards the war was uniform regardless of the nationality of its participants. The author conducted an aspectual analysis, which was based on qualitative document research. He based his research on interpretivist theory. The author analyzes the attitude of anarchists towards the war, including organizations such as the International of Anarchist Federations and the Inter- national Workers’ Association, as well as individual Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian and Polish anarchists

The aim of the article is to show how the political of friendship is an important element of political thinking if it is correctly conceptualised as a political formation, interacting on three levels: the imaginary geography, epistemic research strategy, and existential experience. The article undertakes a friendly polemic in particular with the way friendship is interpreted in the academic work of Kazimierz Dziubka, to whom we friendly dedicate this work

No full textThe article shows that the implementation of everyone’s right to safe and healthy working conditions is aimed at ensuring social peace at work. This position is represented in recent documents by the International Labour Organization and the European Union, stressing the importance of social dialogue on OSH issues. Polish legislation also grants employees and their representatives the right to consult their employer on all OSH activities, and even in some cases employees have the right to co-decide with their employer on these matters. This serves to protect the common good, which is the life and health of employees.W artykule wykazano, że realizacja prawa każdego do bezpiecznych i higienicznych warunków pracy ma na celu zapewnienie pokoju społecznego w pracy. Takie stanowisko reprezentują w najnowszych dokumentach Międzynarodowa Organizacja Pracy i Unia Europejska, podkreślające znaczenie dialogu społecznego w sprawach bhp. Także ustawodawstwo polskie przyznaje pracownikom i ich przedstawicielom prawo do konsultacji z pracodawcą wszelkich działań dotyczących bhp. W pewnych przypadkach pracownicy uzyskują nawet prawo do współdecydowania z pracodawcą o tych sprawach. Służy to ochronie dobra wspólnego — życia i zdrowia zatrudnionych
