No full textFreak culture is an ambiguous concept that does not function as a concrete semantic category. It is a culture of fascination with otherness and, above all, its exposure. It has developed over the centuries, matching its categories to specific eras, constantly changing the catalog of its membership. Freak culture is governed by replicated mechanisms and patterns that form the basis of its existence, allowing it to be identified. Nowadays, freak culture is one of the irresistible elements of the media landscape, and unchecked and disregarded it can become a serious threat to the media of the future.Kultura dziwactw to pojęcie niejednoznaczne, które nie funkcjonuje jako konkretna kategoria znaczeniowa. Jest to kultura fascynacji odmiennością, a przede wszystkim jej ekspozycji. Rozwijała się na przestrzeni wieków, dopasowując swoje kategorie do konkretnych epok, nieustannie zmieniając katalog przynależności do niej. Kultura dziwactw rządzi się powielanymi mechanizmami i schematami, które leżą u podstaw jej istnienia i pozwalają na jej identyfikację. Współcześnie kultura dziwactw jest jednym z nieodłącznych elementów przestrzeni medialnej, a niekontrolowana i zlekceważona może stać się poważnym zagrożeniem dla mediów przyszłości

No full textDer Aufsatz unternimmt den Versuch, die Wortbildungen des Deutschen nach ihrer Prädikat-Argumentstruktur zu beschreiben. Das Modell berücksichtigt primär Derivate, erfasst aber auch Zusammensetzungen, deren Grundwort funktional den Derivationssuffixen entspricht. Besprochen werden sowohl einfache Derivate als auch Inkorporationen. Als der häufigste inkorporierte Aktant ergibt sich das Akkusativobjekt. Das Beschreibungsmodell erlaubt nicht nur eine konsequente Klassifizierung von Derivaten, sondern ermöglicht auch einen Einblick in deren syntaktisch-semantische Struktur.The paper describes German word formations according to their predicate-argument-structure. It focuses on the description of derivatives as well as compounds whose second part functionally corresponds to a suffix (of the Lehrer / Lehrkraft type) and presents the most typical structures. The description begins with simple derivatives and ends with incorporations. The most common incorporated actant is the accusative object. The model allows both to classify the word formations in a more detailed way and allows the reader to get a better understanding of word structures.Der Aufsatz unternimmt den Versuch, die Wortbildungen des Deutschen nach ihrer Prädikat-Argumentstruktur zu beschreiben. Efemeryczne i performatywne aspekty periodyku poetyckiego „Cegła” na tle jednodniówek i innych efemerycznych wydań prasy literackiej
No full textIn the article, the author applies the concept of ephemerality to newspaper titles, hinting at various possible phenomena in the history of the Polish press that could be categorized as ephemera, starting with Old Polish non-periodical ephemeral prints. Then, because of the cultural field to which the independent Wroclaw poetic periodical Cegła belongs, the article points out the literary ephemera preceding its publication, such as the one-day poetry periodicals of the early 20th century, which are briefly characterized. The article then presents examples of such editions of contemporary literary magazines, which, according to the author’s thesis, represent ephemerality by virtue of form; these are primarily selected editions of the magazine Portret and Ha!art, but also certain titles of art magazines. The second part of the article reflects on the genology of the magazine Cegła (also in relation to poetry almanacs) and analyzes the various editions of this magazine, appearing in various graphic and material formulas. Due to the nature of this periodical, the author describes individual issues of Cegła in the perspective of performativity and shows the relationship of the performativity of Cegła with the ephemerality of its form.W artykule autor stosuje pojęcie efemeryczności do tytułów prasowych, napomykając o różnych możliwych zjawiskach w historii polskiej prasy, które by taką efemeryczność reprezentowały, od staropolskich nieperiodycznych druków ulotnych począwszy. Następnie z racji na dziedzinę kultury, do jakiej należy niezależny wrocławski periodyk poetycki „Cegła”, wskazuje się w artykule efemerydy polskiej prasy literackiej wydawane w przeszłości, takie jak jednodniówki poetyckie z początku XX wieku, które zostają pokrótce scharakteryzowane. W następnej kolejności w artykule prezentowane są przykłady takich wydań współczesnych czasopism literackich, które wedle tezy autora reprezentują efemeryczność z uwagi na formę, są to przede wszystkim wybrane wydania magazynów literackich „Portret” oraz „Ha!art”, ale też pewne czasopisma artystyczne. W drugiej części artykułu podjęta zostaje refleksja nad genologią magazynu „Cegła” (także w odniesieniu do almanachów poetyckich) oraz zostają poddane analizie poszczególne wydania tego magazynu, ukazujące się w najróżniejszych formułach graficznych oraz materialnych. Ze względu na charakter tego periodyku autor opisuje poszczególne wydania „Cegły” w perspektywie performatyki i ukazuje związki performatywności „Cegły” z efemerycznością jej formy
Efemeryczne teatralia — o roli rękopisów i druków ulotnych w badaniach nad kulturą studencką PRL
Get PDFThis paper is a presentation of selected materials from the Department of Manuscripts of the Polish Academy of Sciences, deposited by the creators of the coastal student culture of the period of the Polish People’s Republic (PRL). The author indended it as a contribution to the considerations on the concept of “ephemerality” in three dimensions: ephemerality of the content of manuscripts, ephemerality of information carriers, ephemerality in accordance with the traditional definition of ephemeral prints. The value of theater artefacts as source materials is emphasized, allowing to determine the periodization of the history of separate student theaters, the artistic expression of students from the State College of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and demonstrating the features of the communist era as a time of shortage economy, poor-quality products. Those included typescripts from the 1950s and 1960s (the poor make of which made it difficult to read the notation of the scenes), the scrip or the list of theatrical props. Due to their non-institutional nature and short duration, the theaters of the PRL period are often referred to as ephemera. The article therefore aims to answer to the question of what ephemera-theaters and their socio-historical context say about leaflets and manuscripts.Przedstawienie wybranych materiałów Pracowni Rękopisów BG PAN zdeponowanych przez twórców kultury studenckiej Wybrzeża okresu PRL-u stanowi przyczynek do rozważania pojęcia „efemeryczności” w trzech płaszczyznach: efemeryczność treści rękopisów, efemeryczność nośników informacji, efemeryczność zgodna z tradycyjną definicją druków ulotnych. Uwypukla się wartość teatraliów jako materiałów źródłowych pozwalających ustalić periodyzację historii studenckich teatrów osobnych, artystyczną ekspresję studentów wywodzących się z PWSSP w Gdańsku oraz cechy epoki PRL-u jako czasu gospodarki niedoboru, kiepskich wyrobów — także maszynopisów z lat pięćdziesiątych i sześćdziesiątych, z których z trudem daje się odczytać zapis scenek, scenariusza, spis rekwizytów teatralnych. Teatrzyki okresu PRL-u często, ze względu na nieinstytucjonalność i krótkie trwanie, określa się efemerydami. Artykuł jest zatem odpowiedzią na pytanie, co o teatrach-efemerydach oraz ich kontekście społeczno-historycznym mówią druki ulotne i rękopisy
Post-war Polish scholarship on the history and theory of library science
No full textThe author of the paper explores the development of the concept of Polish post-war library science as an academic discipline and demonstrates the wealth of achievement in librarianship studies. Theoretical reflections on and the ongoing discussion about the scope of library science provide a background for the presentation of practical solutions applied in the work of libraries. The author presents library science concepts and the authors of important publications contributing to the development of the discipline, practical librarian tasks and the academic training of librarians. In addition, she analyses librarianship achievements with regard to the characteristic, statutory tasks and functions of libraries, as well as to typology, showing their significance to librarianship practice in Poland and to the quality of the academic training of librarians. There is also a brief description of the profile of the librarianship curriculum at the leading university-level institutions educating librarians.The author of the paper explores the development of the concept of Polish post-war library science as an academic discipline and demonstrates the wealth of achievement in librarianship studies. Get PDFThis article discusses the issue of discontinuation of enforcement proceedings in petty offense cases. In Article 15(1) of the Executive Penal Code, the legislator defined three negative conditions for enforcement proceedings. Two of them was indicated clearly: the death of the convicted person (punished in petty offense proceedings) and the limit- ation for the execution of the penalty. The third condition was vaguely defined as “other reasons excluding this procedure”. The article aims to analyze said grounds for the obligatory discontinuation of enforcement proceedings, taking into account the views of the doctrine and jurisprudence.Niniejszy artykuł porusza problematykę umorzenia postępowania wykonawczego w sprawach o wykroczenia. Ustawodawca w art. 15 § 1 k.k.w. określił katalog trzech ujemnych przesłanek postępowania wykonawczego, przy czym dwie z nich ujął wyraźnie: śmierć skazanego (ukaranego w postępowaniu w sprawach o wykroczenia) oraz przedawnienie wykonania kary. Trzecia przesłanka określona została w sposób nieostry jako inne przyczyny wyłączające to postępowanie. The concept of a sustainable business model: Opportunities and challenges
Get PDFThe concept of sustainable development is considered one of the most important and urgent challenges facing humanity today. Therefore, solutions that promote sustainable business are of particular importance. The purpose of this article was to explore the concept of a business model as a potentially promising way of shaping the contribution of businesses to sustainable development. A systematic literature review method was used to identify, analyze and critically evaluate the first theoretical proposals for the concept of a sustainable business model. Fundamental differences between the proposed conceptualizations were identified, stemming from different understandings of the business model concept on the one hand, and from its embedding in different, partly contradictory approaches, to corporate contributions to sustainable development, on the other. The article adapts the holistic approach of corporate sustainability and the understanding of the business model as a representation of the essence of business including the proposition, creation, delivery and capture of value. As a result, key elements of the emerging new ontology of the sustainable business model have been identified and defined. The proposed concept of a sustainable business model primarily means adopting a different logic of business, and the basis for defining the various elements of the business model is the reconstruction of the concept of value. The sustainability of a business model is thus referred to the extent to which this model maximizes benefits while reducing economic, social, and environmental damage, and creates value not only for the company and its customers but also for various stakeholder groups. The main part of the article is a systematic identification of the opportunities and challenges associated with the new proposal.
